This means that Ignis always knew what was going to happen to Noctis... and he still wanted to keep fighting alongside him, even while blind! What a man! FFXV is just so tragic all the way around.
Looking back at some of the reviews that expressed dislike for this game's story, it's pretty apparent that some of them were just people who thought the ending was too tragic/cruel/sad. "They died and there's no positive meaning to the game". Which isn't quite true. There's a theme in the game, but because the development was so rushed, the theme wasn't very apparent, but it's definitely there if you think about the story.
Edgar Larios one of the saddest games of all time but so impactful. Say what you want but this is truly an amazing game with really deep characters that you grow to adore. It makes their final fate that much more heartbreaking. You feel like you’ve been on this journey with them and losing them is like losing one of your own close friends. Man I love this game
Started bawling at the hotel scene when I realised Ignis would rather the world perish than lose Noct. Bawled harder at the final scene because I was wondering why he seemed quite calm in the base game when even Gladio teared up. God damn this game (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)
This is what makes this game worth it. Not the beautiful characters or the gameplay, or the king's blood and the fact you are playing as a king and make important decisions. Such a sacrifice is stronger than anything, Ignis is more a guardian angel than a friend.
it really hurts that ignis never got to see what noct looks like when he's older. i mean, he's known him since he was such a young kid and has always been looking after him and he couldn't even see him all grown up. seriously this game tore my heart to pieces.
MagicalDreams it makes you care for him so much more. In the original game you get almost nothing of him, and even less in Kingsglaive. In this you actually get to know him more as a character and what his motivations are. It makes his death that much more impactful
Eeeh, no. He turned his pain into rage and if Ignis wasn't there he would kill Noct. As Iggy said - they were the same in their fate. Both lost so much, but Noctis even as a young boy didn't turned to the darkness, didn't reachd for the power that doesn't belong to him, and after all sacrificed himself for others. He always could refuse his duty and run away, and nobody could blame him. Seeing another twenty years old boy ready to give his life for the world?
Ravus' situation is complicated. He hates the Lucians for what they did to his family, yet his sister was engaged to Noct and there wasn't anything he could do about that. Luna prepared to give her life to save the people/ensure the ring of Lucii was passed to Noctis...She was the only family Ravus had left and he was forced to see her suffer. I can understand why he turned his pain into rage. When he finds Luna dead of course his anger took over and he tried to kill Noct without thinking clearly because, being the Lucian King, he was the first person to blame.
@@IBeMelissa Ardyn play the empire and using all of them to get Revenge on Somnus and his Descendants. For what i recalled it's the Empire that attack Tanabarea and King Regis didn't even help his Family. That moment he felt that Lucians truly betray them or sold them out to the empire. Blaming Noctis or Kill him won't bring anyone back.
The real tragedy is that Luna died because no one poured a Potion out for her or used a Phoenix Down, even though Noctis was right there for the items to work.
@Jasmine Wade Well in animes and video games (FFVII for example) body doesn't stay, like to be burned or buried. I asume there are a few reasons for it - during the combat main character slay a lot of enemies, it would be kinda hard to walk and run if they are still laying at his feet. The other reason of course is aestetic side - not kinda the best view to watch rotting corpses. And of course, it's much more dramatic to see how body turnes into stars and goes to heaven, it support the story and brings some divine end to the soul. Actually we see the soul gone, body is vanishing.
Terra Claiborne Yep. Why he was only blinded instead of having his life taken, only the Kings of Lucis know. In my opinion, I think they saw Ignis important to Noctis’s calling, so they only blinded him instead of taking his life, but we would never know the true meaning of why he was only blinded. Just a small theory. 🙂
+HannahHonoka My friend actually has a theory that the ring takes what's most important to a person if they're not Royal Blood. For Nyx it was his life, for Ravus it was his arm. More specifically the arm he uses to wield his weapon. He actually had to retrain himself to use a sword with the other hand, and for Ignis it was his sight. If you recall. Ignis says he likes his world to be crystal clear. So. The ring took his sight as punishment. It's sad, but it does make sense.
The campfire scene? It's not the afterlife, it takes place in their final camp just before they enter the city. It's kind of sad actually, but Noct's soul itself was destroyed to make sure Ardyn couldn't come back, if there is an afterlife in Eos, he might not be able to even go to it. Iggy saying "your majesty" in the throne room and Luna Kissing Noct are supposedly their "Final Fantasies". Could be an afterlife, could simply be Fantasies. I'm waiting on confirmation of the afterlife for those two scenes.
I remember talking to Ray chase (voice actor for noctis) and he told me that out of all the 3 episodes, episode Ignis is the best by far and now I see why😭😭😭
Vixen SaberSpark Yeah. I honestly found Ignis to be the most bad ass in the game. Dude was keeping everything together and still kicking ass on the side. Prompto and Noctis were usually whining about something, and Gladio was prone to just losing his temper or being cocky. IDK. Maybe it's because I'm old now, but somebody playing the level head, peacemaker, and caretaker with a side helping of loyalty in an extreme stress situation is pretty bad ass.
DZ 3 Except for certain genetic anomalies*, a hand isn't attached to a shoulder, so saying that an arm is missing, the hand is gone as well. :) *One situation where the hand can be attached to the shoulder is thalidomide babies
The side effects of the ring are dangerous to Royals too. Regis was slowly dying wearing that ring and yeah, Noctis lost his life for it too. The ring is dangerous for everyone.
Nyx lost his life but look at the amount of power he got in return, ignis definitely got a power up but he didn't last very long and it wasn't as crazy so all he lost was his eyesight.
Theres more DLC coming next year, so I think that there will be a DLC for Ravus. I agree that I would've loved to see more of him. He was a good character
My heart shattered in pieces when I came to this part in the game and the scene where Ignis saw what would happen to Noctis if they continued on the path they were going. I cried. Ignis and Noctis are bros for life.
Man! What a great story! I just wish someone could edit ffxv and all the episodes together in a way that would make it one complete story. That would be so Badass!
Just play it in order. Once the leviathan fight is over just play Episode Ignis and play episode Prompto once he falls of the train. I played it that way and it made the story feel more complete
This DLC is spectacular. I cried so, so much, lost my heart in it. And I have to point that one thing that I really love in this is the role of Ravus. He also made me cry, his pain is so difficult.
Ignis: Visibility is poor Noct: Clean your glasses Ignis: Capital idea, Noct Ignis always could see good without his glasses. But just prefered them as he liked his world with perfect clarity. Sad he lost his vision. But 10 years later he learnt how to cook and fight all the same.

Gotta love the Team Mom and Team Dad aspects in this DLC Papa Bear Gladio - went for Prompto's safety at the beginning and likely protected him while they were doing their things off-screen Mama Ignis - doing every single possible thing to get to Noct and basically radiating 'GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY BABY!!' adrenaline mom vibes
32:43 - I’m sorry, but I can’t stop laughing. Why does he groan so much? Did they ask the voice actor for a few takes and then just use all of them for no reason?? He’s just standing up and it’s like he’s being stabbed or something! omfg
Always saw Ignis as kinda like Auron in the sense that he's a guardian thats reliable, wise, and selfless and Noctis being the summoner with the cursed or blessed fate and seeing it all unfold I felt overwhelmed! Thanks for the memories! :D
(Spoilers ahead, just in case some unsuspecting person happens to be passing through) If you think about it, Ravus dies no matter what. In both endings. In the main story, he dies in Gralea when Ardyn pretends to be Noctis. In the alternate path, he survives because that didn't end up hapoening. However, as he's part of the Oracle bloodline, he acts as the Oracle to put a final end to Ardyn in Insomnia. Because of his Oracle heritage, he takes Noctis' place in the beyond. Hence, Noctis survives.
I wish the DLCs (aside from maybe Ardyn's) had just been incorporated into the main game. It would have made the whole experience much more emotionally fulfilling in my opinion. That said, apart from the bizarre alternate ending, I definitely think this one was the best. We already knew Ignis was a badass, but Episode Ignis just made him that much more the MVP in my eyes. He spends a good chunk of the main game taking care of everyone else, and here we see him nearly sacrifice EVERYTHING for Noctis's sake. It's nice knowing that, although there was some conflict and tension at first, the group eventually pulled itself together and they stepped up to take care of HIM for once.
Noctis’ dad evacuated from ravus’s and his family’s fight in the past because he didnt want to risk noctis dying and not fulfilling his prophecy. In turn, ravus felt it was a betrayal and was driven to darkness because he couldve saved ravus’ mother from dying. This gave him a slowly growing hate for noctis that grew as they got older. So Because he hated noctis and wanted revenge and the empire was against the lucis bloodline, he joined to torment them and get closer to said revenge.
"Sister, please don't go! Please don't leave me!" Me: (ugly sobbing) Also can we talk about Iggy and Noct at the end? Noct says his friends brought him this far and now he's on his own. Ignis: No you won't be going alone. I'm sorry? GOING? Is Ignis trying to die with Noct????? That's the only reason I can imagine that Noct cuts him off...
This episode had me so pumped! Mainly because I always liked Ignis but I was so damn curious just how badass he was. This episode left me with no further questions 😆🥲👍
I loved this DLC and Iggy was really badass here :D made really fun to play him most of the time I was crying. Most of all when Ravus said "Sister please dont go" tears like a waterfall

This dlc just tore my heart out, spat on it, stomped all over it and shoved it back down my throat. When they took it back to the campsite and they shook hands and iggy cried boy I just
Nice to include gameplay segments to make the cutscenes more fluid and have background. Easy way to catch up on dlc as well to treat as a movie if busy.
27:23 Ignis sounded like he was about to cry, the guy empathises with both what Noctis and Ravus is going through. Honestly, it’s a sad and heartbreaking situation for all of them. Ravus seeing his sister having to die, Ignis having the revelation of what Noctis will have to go through. One tragedy after another.
Iggy before: *I've come up with a new recipehhhh * me: annoyed and scared* Iggy after: *me... ok I'll wait for you.. even if we take years completing the quest*

When they took it back to the campsite and they shook hands and iggy cried boy I just
We just lost everything in that scene. Thanks to this DLC and now I cannot see Ignis that I start to cry all over again.
That epic fight scene between ignis and ravous
Nice to include gameplay segments to make the cutscenes more fluid and have background. Easy way to catch up on dlc as well to treat as a movie if busy.
Boi, it still makes me wanna cry even after watching it a third time 😢
HELL YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS BLESS YOU ♥️
I liked Ardyn's flashstep into Ignis face lol
well... he is freaking handsome... hmm
I've never teared up after playing a game in a long time. The end is so tragic.
Such an amazing and emotional story

30:09 I wasn't expecting that thug life moment
it was at this DLC that you realized that ignis is the best character
Really good dlc, def the best.
It's funny how they use real actors for the most of characters in this game, except for the main ones.
He knew it all along. And he's breaking inside because of it. Huhuhu!!!! 😞😞😞😭😭😭 The best FF season ever! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
