I remember the media was not shy about exposing Drake Bell as a "monster" and "crazy" but why wasn't the grown ass man who abused him ever exposed in the same way?
Because he had little to no power over Hollywood and his potential to make them money was proven to be very little at the end of drake and Josh so they simply left him out in the open rather than bury it under the carpet like Dan
because media pretends like a male SA'ing another male (or male identifying) isn't is harmful. it's just as harmful but media only truly weighs in on things when it's a male SA'ing a woman (or woman identifying). it's sick, unfair, and severely undermines men as SA victims just because they're men and should be "tough enough" to deal with it. SA is harmful to EVERY gender, and media needs to understand that.
Because no one knew who he was unless you were personally in the industry and Drake is famous. Famous people get more interest when they do crimes. Simple as that. Drake pled guilty to his charges, one of them being a felony, so just because you have empathy for what young Drake went through, doesn’t mean you should ignore what he was convicted of.
I would be sick. I would never recover having my worst nightmare come to life. Just one of the many reasons I will never have kids. They wouldn’t have me as a parent anyway because I would be in jail for the murder of their molester.
@@wmdkittyI don't understand what you mean. It was very clear in the documentary that his dad was like a lion, who protected over his kid. Brian fought his dad's protection by helping Drake's mom to legally pushing him out of Drake's life. The mother is the one who did nothing. She was too lazy to take care of her son, and that gave Brian the green light.
@@wmdkitty That's not true! Brian was extremely manipulative and managed to turn Drake against his dad. Drake's dad did EVERYTHING he possibly could to protect his kid. It's the mom who refused to heed the dad's warnings, who is to blame for this. She should have put her anger and bitterness towards him aside and realised that he was acting in his son's best interest.
NO WAY there are people out there that actually believe a CHILD Drake was trying to coerce a grown adult man to do sexual things to him. Wtf is wrong with those people defending Peck
@@wmdkitty The Girlfriend's Mother know some thing was off when Brain Peck call about 40 times at her house for Drake but he wouldn't tell her so she told him to talk to therapist. She had no proof.
Man I CHEERED for that Mom! Like the instinct and reflexes she showed to protect him was so amazing. And in a time when parents were raised to mind their business and not to interfere. Just wow. She honestly was the break in the glass that led to Drake being able to tell him mom what happened. God bless that woman 1,000 times over
As a mental health professional I have to say you did an amazing job with this video. It was really balanced and not everyone can understand the complexity of his situation. Thanks for taking the time to research.
You people are nuts. The cycle will continue cause you people trying to play God and don't know what you're doing. Both Drake and Peck should be in prison.
Honestly? Seeing Drake break the cycle and succeed in therapy would be the best thing anyone could see. Hearing that he takes a level of accountability and is actively attending therapy gives me hope for his future, and that of his child.
Indeed. It takes a lot of work. I was abused (non-SA) as a child and I was pretty shitty boyfriend and romantic partner and actually ended up in another abusive relationship (with SA) as an adult. It's a hard thing to confront every day, but eventually the work starts paying off. It's never perfect, but you can consistently get a place where you know you're doing the right things and actively changing for the better
@@scottlapier4797 random internet stranger who wants to say that I am so happy for you, getting help, working through everything. People don’t want to believe people can change (or give them a chance to) & I hope that drake is able to that too!
Since someone selfishly leaked the sealed documents from Drake's abuse of a minor, he most definitely did not break the cycle when going down on his 15 year old fan twice (and yes, it confirms he fully knew her age)
finally someone who knows what trauma bond actually means and uses it correctly!!!! a trauma bond stems from a relationship between victim and abuser, not people just bonding over their separate traumas like so many use it for. having experienced a true trauma bond, it was one of the hardest things to break psychologically- took years.
@NatlovesJesus1 so close! it's actually possible to empathize with someone's abuse, and still not support them abusing others. most normal people can experience two feelings at once!
“This man is making uncomfortable with the way he interacts with my son.” “Sir, perhaps you’re homophobic?” Even back then, that word was thrown around way too much.
The use here was abhorrent and used to protect an abuser - so yes it was vile. "Even back then, that word was thrown around way too much." But let's not pretend homophobia wasn't the norm back then... there were many fair uses of it lol
@@meesh11pFair point. However, to automatically call someone homophobic right off the bat without even really giving it any thought first is scummy, especially when it’s another man’s son.
And wild thing is drake had a plea deal . because if he stood trial they could have locked him away from a long time. whats worst is when he found out the girl was a minor he cut all communications with her and she still labelled him as a predator even though there is proof she lied about her age
actually i would say look into its a so crazy what happened she basically accused him because she was jealous he was engaged court documents and everything shows proof he wasnt grooming her or nothing but the man was still screwed
@@themanthelegendjmwthey literally said that he had more time, but it was in community service. That’s what the “(collectively with community service)” means. Reading for context matters.
I was a victim of extensive abuse for most of my life. The amount of garbage I've had to consistently work to undo to not be a terrible human (and now parent) isn't something I'd wish on anyone. This was one of the best takes I've seen on this issue so far. You now have a new subscriber. Thank you.
I cant believe he was going through all this during the time I would watch him on tv. That is heart breaking. On all sides, him, his past partners, all of it.
Drake is another victim turned abuser and it's heartbreaking to see. I do agree that all the adults involved with him and Brian Peck(except his father) failed him though.

I was SAed and groomed as a teenager and I would never want to ever have anyone experience what I went through. When I ever get a significant other, I want them to feel safe, happy and comfortable in the relationship
I am so sorry you had to go through that - no one deserves that. I am just disgusted about all this shit that is going on because when i was a kid watching these shows i wished how much i was one of these actors but didn't know what the horrific side of it was
I agree, I was SAed as a child n groomed as a teen n none of what I went through has ever crossed my mind to do to another person... As bad as I feel for drake bell, he deff is a predator n he has alot to atone for!!
@bridgettewilliams6543 I'm so sorry you went through that, but unfortunately 1/3 of abused children become abusers. It does something to the brain that really messes them up. Maybe you have a strength within you that drake didn't have
Every one experiences abuse differently and the brain can be changed in different ways also you can easily say one thing but when the time comes you react completely differently that’s why I’m afraid to have children because I was physically and emotionally abused very badly when I was a child and even though I say over and over I’d never treat my children like that I also know my brain is broken and there a possibility some thing could happen and trigger some thing in me and I could hurt my child and I never want to put a child through what I went through
Drake’s dad did everything right. It was his mom that let Brian worm his way into their lives. Into the role his dad took. Edit: And good for his girlfriend’s mom for not ignoring it.
Just wanted to note, guilty is not the same as no contest: Pleading guilty means *you admit* that you committed the crime. Pleading no contest means accepting the conviction but *avoiding a factual admission of guilt*.
@@FeLima91 I’m thinking you misunderstood this comment. It’s not against Drake. Drake plead guilty. He took responsibility and admitted guilt. Brian Peck is the one who plead no contest. He took no real responsibility for his actions and didn’t have to admit to it.
@@FeLima91I’ve watched drakes trial. He clearly says guilty to both charges. Yes, he did it for convenience and plea deals himself, but he still admitted guilt. Brian Peck plead no contest. This plea is commonly used as a way to get better deals than might be available to someone who admits guilt. An Alford plea is functionally the same, but these two pleas mean different things. Alford plea means they plead guilty, but they either claim to be innocent or maybe they don’t feel comfortable putting in a guilty plea. No contest means a defendant has accepted the punishment, but they admit no guilt what so ever. And both these pleas have actual functions in a court. Often times though, these pleas just get misused and abused by people who decide they want any amount of wiggle room they can get in the law. Anytime I see either of these pleas, I just know that defendants more than likely took plea deals and/or know there’s no way they wouldn’t be found guilty in a trial.
Corporations and finance capital lobby for their interests. It's financially inefficient to spend money on political issues that don't matter to your bottom line. It would take a powerful lobby of SA survivors to improve the laws.
According to internets, an 9 year old girl in Brazil got caught stealing an iPhone and they made her sit with the iPhone on her head while they bashed a log onto it. I don’t know what the outcome they had in mind for that but yea, it didn’t end well for the girl. She never stole again. (Not a joke, just the sad truth)
Man, this did deserve its own video.Though I will say, Drake is...yeah, I want to say the proper term is "regressed". Meaning he's trying to recapture his childhood, and part of it is the sexual abuse of minors when adult physiology and arrested mental development intersect. The best that can be said is that Drake has acknowledged his pattern and is trying to break free from it. Few even get to that point.
Evil breeds evil. That does not mean evil cannot change. In my opinion it's possible to support someone who is actually trying to take steps towards redemption, and still condemn the atrocities they committed before the steps were taken.
You should watch Drake's interviews on his mother. He doesn't blame her at all for what happened. Brian Peck knew what to say and how to say it to manipulate her, just like what he did to Drake. And before you say his father warned her about him, remember also, Brian turned Drake against him and used that leverage to also turn his mother against his father too.
@justicefool3942 I've seen Drake talk about his mother and it's clear he does hold her responsible... to a degree. Any normal human would - his mom LITERALLY put him with a pred a tor despite being warned. If your mom did that to you, what would think of her? Stop trying to defend awful parenting choices.
Who are you? Where did you come from!? The quality of these videos are top notch and so entertaining. This is definitely not your first channel. Subscribed without hesitation!
the fact that disney hired a SEX OFFENDER is wildly disturbing, including the fact that they didn't originally know of his past says a lot about the children's television industry. not conducting background checks is a danger in itself when hiring people to work with kids. it is SICKENING that he was even allowed to continue working in the industry up until 2018/2019 because almost every show involves at least one child actor. as a survivor of SA, it kills me to see how that man was continuously enabled over the years. it is truly disgusting.
I really appriciate this video, it holds Drake accountable while also making it clear that hes part of a cycle, not the source of the issue. People always want to point fingers at people and act like their just evil, when the real problem is the cycle of abuse that continues when people dont face their traumas.
Im an RN educator and I am SO impressed with your attention to detail, nuanced takes, compassion, research, and unbiased look at such a difficult topic. I am so so impressed. Drakes mother is just as guilty as Brian, if anyone warned me to keep my child away from someone regardless of proof or not you best believe I wouldn't be sending them for sleepovers in their god damn house let alone be together unsupervised AT ALL. Your No. 1 job as a parent is to PROTECT your kids not put them in the hands of someone like that
This has been the hardest one to come out since Josh Duggar. I still can't watch anything about him. I was sexually abused by my older sister from the ages of 9 to 11. My mom walked in one time while I was naked in her bed. She brought it up to me the next day. I lied because I thought I would get in trouble. She never brought it up again. Fast forward to me at 30 and I had a complete mental breakdown at work. My psychiatrist admitted me to a mental hospital and took me out of work. We thought work was the issue. Thought I was overwhelmed. Day one of going to group I told them my name and that I was having issues at work. This was at the beginning of the pandemic so who wasn't. Day two when they got to me something shift and I stared at the ground and word vomited everything my sister ever did to me. No tears. Just everything. When I looked up all 14 of those men and women were completely shocked. One girl was crying. Normally I'm very perceptive to things like that but I had no idea. The therapist took me into the hall and told me they were going to move me to the women's sexual abuse and eating disorder ward. They inially had me at the general psychology group because I didn't tell them what the issue was. I didn't know that's what it was, to be fair. I ended up having to tell my parents. I told my sister I couldn't talk to her and to give me some time. That will have been 4 years ago in August. She had a little boy that September. I've never met him. From what my parents tell me he's exactly like her. I've decided to accept that as my own little personal karma lol I did try to talk to her a couple years ago. I texted her and told her that I'd like to talk and meet my nephew is she was open to it. She said he deserves an aunt that doesn't disappear. Like I didn't deserve a childhood free of being touched by my big sister every day for fucking years. It's all good though. I just hope she does a better job of protecting him than she did of protecting me and my baby sister, who she also touched but only a couple times because she was only 7 and she put up a fight. I was the easier target, I guess. Lucky me. I know no one will ready this wall of text but if you're going through anything like this, writing like this on RUclips videos that speak to you actually really helps. My thoughts are with each and every child going through this right now. You will not and cannot understand this until and unless you go through it so please do not judge the ones who have. 💕
I read your whole comment. I am so sorry to hear that you went through this abuse as a child. I admire you for making an effort to have a relationship with your nephew. Did your sister ever admit the abuse to anyone, or say she had also been abused? I truly wish you all the best and I hope that you continue to heal. I know it takes a long time. I was assaulted twice by two separate guys I went on dates with, back in my late teens. I went on to be in an abusive relationship with a boyfriend for two years. That was 30 years ago, and sometimes, I still have dreams about it. I hope that you take all of the steps you need to in order to heal. ❤
“you want to find it before it finds you” :( i’ve been processing my abuse for years, but your phrasing really clicked. you’re a great content creator - it’s wild that you are still so new. wishing you well
agreed! didn't know that at all and felt bad vibes in every clip with Brian Peck, the shoulder rubbing back..i feel it might've happened to him too, Leo goes after quite younger women.
The police need to be digging up EVERY house he’s ever lived in. WHY would he choose to be his pen pal if this wasn’t something he had in common with him already, or it was something he was planning on in future.
@deeprose4 True, I got the impression that he wanted to be like Gacy... I wonder if he would've tried to kill Drake eventually, cause he was so mad that Drake was avoiding him by going to his girlfriend's house and stuff....
I know Drakes defended his mom since the documentary came out, but I cant help but think she wasn't in it because of how ashamed she is; to have the father of your son explicitly warn you about someone, then turn around and completely ignore it because you "don't like to drive"... Absolutely disgraceful.
Trauma can also set on BPD (borderline personality disorder) which is very similar to this cycle and similar symptoms of difficulty regulating emotions, difficulty with stable relationships, sometimes even substance abuse.
Yeah he was involved with a minor, however when he found out, she was like 15, he cut her off immediately. The girl went on to stalk him to him concert shows, etc.; a 16 year old can also be manipulative, and know what they are doing by being in relation with an adult. If you are already going to cover sensitive topics like grooming and SA, mention everything involved. If you don't, this just alludes that you are insinuating a precise viewpoint for the video and making people question Drake Bell. He is already a victim, so is the girl, but there are differences. However we also need to acknowledge the entire picture, victims of abuse, are at the higher risk to become abusers themselves or reeencounter another abuser, that's why therapy is important, and having an open mind to neutral discourse. I am not excusing the behaviour, but I am also a victim of abuse, and sexual "harassment" that idk if it could be considered grooming, myself...
At the court hearing, both he and his lawyer assumed that in the text messages he knew the minor's age and even sent a "hurry up" for her to grow up. Furthermore, Drake and his representative assumed that the conversations were sexual in nature and that is why Drake pleaded guilty of felony attempted child endangerment and a misdemeanor charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. If you doubt this, just go there and watch for yourself. Himself and his lawyer said it, and evidence of this was found, he was just not accused of things because, like most cases of sexual abuse, it is difficult to gather evidence, so the minimum that could be supported by evidence already says that Drake repeated the cycle of abuse. If you didn't do what you assumed guilt about, why are you going to assume guilty in court for what? Misery? It makes no sense. His narrative about her being obsessed with him is also another moral problem for me, if a minor who is obsessed with me tries something sexual with me it will never happen because I will stop her, I won't tell her to "hurry up" so it doesn't matter who she is, if she is obsessed with him, what he did was wrong, even not considering everything she alleged and couldn't prove, what he did and assumed guilty was wrong. Worse, the fact that he says that she is obsessed with him only makes his side worse because it makes the power imbalance even worse, besides being young she will do everything to please him, precisely because she is his fan, which gives a lot space for him to abuse it. Many cases of sexual abuse cannot be taken to court precisely because it is very difficult to prove, so only the case of her being able to take it to court says a lot. In Drake's own case, his abuser managed to walk free for a long time, without anyone believing him, my fear is that they will continue not to believe the victims and what happened to Drake will happen to other people, but this time by Drake. I'm not saying that everything said on the internet is true and there may be false reports, but I doubt that a girl would want to bring to justice what she suffered knowing that the legal system would pursue the evidence. They did and what they found is enough to make me wary of Drake.
@@FeLima91 The entire point is that she lied about her age. What part about that don't you get? One of the last messages he sent was "Hurry up" because he clearly got spooked and didn't know she was underage. You're seriously underestimating the capability of lying minors. Just because someone's a minor doesn't automatically mean they're innocent and a victim. I mean, ffs, Drake himself went to court and had actual evidence.
@@aycaiix the adult is always the person responsible! how could an adult telling a child to hurry up and grow so they could be with them not be inappropriate in your eyes? it is the responsibility of the adult to absolutely 100% confirm the age of the person they are about to engage in sexual conversations with. if almost every other celebrity has the ability to double check the identity and age of people before they interact with them why couldn’t drake? they spoke for years, he had invited her to his hotel room, whether they were ever alone or not, why is an adult man inviting a child, again, MINOR, into their hotel room?? a whole lot of mental gymnastics to say that a CHILD!!!!! manipulated a grown man into a sexual relationship. shameful
Drake did a very interesting interview with a Mexican interviewer called Jordi Rosado, he talks a bit more about life after stardom. It was really sad for me because you can still tell there’s a part of him that is a 15 year old kid wanting to be good enough for others, not for himself. I hope he can live a better life.
This is so important to touch on, and I was wondering about the allegations against Drake while watching the documentary. I can see why it would be so hard for him to talk about his own abusive actions, not just because it’s inherently wrong, but because then he would need to face how he was resembling Brian Peck. I would say I believe that he was abusive to his partners, and maybe to minors. And while it doesn’t excuse his behaviour at ALL, we have to start having more conversations about the cycle of abuse, and how perpetrators can so often be people who have experienced horrific abuse themselves. I think there is a hesitancy to do so, because we don’t want to minimize the harm done, but then at the same time, abuse is so often concealed and covered up as well (like it was with Brian Peck, and Drake not really addressing his own conduct). He was severely traumatized, and he acted out that trauma on others. Maybe he would have done it regardless of his own abuse, but we’ll never know. I think what’s most important is understanding how important mental health support, open dialogue and justice for victims is needed to prevent more abuse. I hope that Drake can be honest with himself, and I also commend him for coming forward about the horrendous things he suffered at the hands of people who so many adored.
How does contextualizing the nature of human pathology "minimize the harm done" in consequence of human pathology? Also, it should be pointed out that there is no separate form of justice besides Justice itself, in other words: "justice for victims" is the same thing as justice for the perpetrators. He who contrives to evil means suffer from it most; there is no such thing as "getting away with it". Raskolnikov was convicted from the moment he swung the axe, by his own nature and the reality of his betrayal of that nature, true Justice is not an affect of political or executive action, it is THE LAW of NATURE itself.
Holy shit. This channel only has 4 videos at the time of writing this. Hell yeah! Caught it early and ready to catch up. Keep up the excellent work😎 LOVE your content!
It’s so heartbreaking that Drake’s dad recognized Brian for what he is & tried to protect him, but ultimately it happened anyway. This is exactly why I’m so protective over my children, & I don’t care what anyone thinks about it. I’ll be the helicopter parent, whatever. 🤷🏻♀️
I used to have no compassion or empathy for abusers who use their childhood trauma as an excuse to conflict harm. Now, I don't know what to feel anymore. I want to both like and dislike Drake Bell. But in any case, I hope he gets better.
Nah, childhood abuse is no excuse. It's still a choice. I was SA'd by my grandfather for around 10 years of my early childhood and would NEVER make those choices!
@@A-G5518 I’m in the same boat and completely agree. There are not enough conclusive studies and evidence to make a sweeping statement that child SA victims become abusers. There is however conclusive evidence that SA victims are more likely to end up in future abusive relationships. Victims have MORE empathy because in order to stay safe the victim must use empathy in order to read the abuser and form codependencies to minimize the amount of abuse out of protection. The majority of us would never dream of hurting someone how we’ve been hurt. IMO this is extremely dangerous rhetoric that invalidates SA victims. Whatever Bell’s reasons they are far more psychologically complicated than surviving SA.
@@A-G5518 exactly. I got similar experiences but my friends would describe me as "too nice", rather than anything else. I guess we made the right choice and broke the cycle early on.
@@lolabworse I could probably say similar about being too nice. I used to be a doormat. My husband fixed me of that though. The beginning of our relationship wasn't great, he was very selfish and I had to learn to stand up for myself and stop being a doormat. He has learned and grown along the way, I think it was just something he was never taught so we've kinda learned/grown together in our own ways. Anyway, I am thankful that I have grown to have self-worth without turning into a self entitled crazy person.
@@A-G5518 that's really nice to read. thank you for sharing this with a stranger of the internet :D I'm still a work in progress but videos and comments like this definitely help me learning.
Its sad drake was falsely accused of SA (please look up the court case and documents) and the whole time unlike the girl who tried to ruin his life he was a victim. Also drakes mom fumbled so bad if the father of your child is saying "look out i dont trust this person" you listen to them
When I first got together with my husband,14 years ago I literally word for word told him every relationship I've ever been in has been abusive, if I'm going to be in an abusive relationship I'm going to be the abuser and I then began abusing him....I've gotten help and don't behave like this anymore, we don't fight period just discuss things healthily thank God but I just listened to her saying how the abused can become the abuser and remembered my statement and behavior, it was sort of an aha moment I wanted to share and it definitely affirms what she stated
He (Drake) never matured psychologically beyond the age his abuse began. It's like he was frozen developmentally at that maturity level. It's natural for 14/15 year olds to be attracted to one another, as over all their maturity matches. He probably didn't think of it that way, but it explains so much. That doesn't excuse his behavior and abuse of others, but once you (Docs/Drake) understand the root; It becomes easier to "work through" or treat. I understand and have empathy for him, I just do not excuse a "pass" for it. He doesn't have a deep understanding of why he's attracted to younger females, but he is and until he understands that; he's not really working through or healing anything and will do it again, not recognizing the patterns.
Im not so sure if he is atracted to young females only or in special rather that he only can talk with people of that age because yeah as you said he didn't grow past the 14-15 years old, I agree it isn't on purpose and hopefully being in therapy would help him and prevent him from harming others I saw a physichology comment on reddit about CSA and the therapist mention its not only in a mental way but in a physical way that the victims don't grow on extreme cases, after that I could only think that Drake didn't change at all after puberty even his voice is the same that he has at 14
I really appreciate the way you approach these subjects. Very professional, informative, and honest. You dissect the WHOLE story, this is what true journalism is, it’s a bummer this type of media isn’t mainstream anymore
as an survivor of sexual abuse at the same age and a little earlier, i can relate to a lot of these things here. i have also been severely emotionally abused by a sociopath i lived with, and long after that i have manipulated someone (for financial reasons) as well. it made me relive that trauma from a different perspective. i went to therapy a lot, because of depression and anxiety, i learned that anxiety coming from abuse can either be extremely dangerous in a way of manipulation or extremely isolating. i am still very disappointed in myself that i've done that, i am proud of myself though that i overcame the anxiety and successfully went through therapy. the cycle of abuse is the reason why abuse is still a thing. obviously we should talk about it way more and people need resources to therapy. we could evolve out of that kind of behaviour, but world leaders are not doing a good job at being a good example, which so many people are allowed to witness.
Just finished the video and looked at how many subs u have. Im surprised, the quality of the investigation and the data is amazing (using peer reviewed studies, treating statements made outside a court of law that have not been proved and more). Congrats, I’ll be honored to be here from the beginning of your career. Keep up the professional work
as someone who has been SA'd, I feel for Drake. he has done really bad things, don't get me wrong. their is no reason to be an abuser, and trying to date a 15 year old when your 21. But when it comes from trauma, it makes sense. in my opinion, the one way an abuser can make up for what they have done, is to apologize, mean it, and then go to jail, or rehab to get treatment. Drake is trying to correct his wrongs, or at least that's what it looks like to me. Brian Peck refuses to do that, and is still working in a industry that gave him access to people he can abuse and exploit. i cant say drake is a bad person or not; never meet the guy, but i do think he is trying to get better. That's all i can ask for.
He didn’t know she was 15. He blocked her as soon as she told him the truth. She then continued going to his shows anyway and that was the foundation for the whole “child endangerment” charge. It’s very weird how this video presents it in such a vague and skewed lens despite taking a fairly compassionate position towards him. Like maybe the uploader just didn’t want to say that the young girl claiming to be a victim of Drake was actually a liar/false alleger of sorts?
I appreciate the balance in reporting that I have been seeing in your videos. There was a lot of information presented in this one that I didn’t know about, so thanks for the comprehensive coverage. … On a personal note, I also like your haircut. 🙂
He took away his protection: his father. You did an amazing job at breaking down how the cycle of abuse works. I had a friend who reminds me of this description. “Hurt people hurt people.”
Dont say younger like that. They are at least in their mid 20's nothing illegal there. I see nothing bad if theyre both conscenting adults. Hes not like Scott Disick where he dates someone who is on the cusp of turning 18.
Agree with both of you here tbh .. But they’re different. In Di Caprios case they are all legal, consenting women. They’re not underage. However - Leonardo Di Caprio’s “age range” doesn’t increase with his own age. He still, never dates a woman over 25. I am 30. He is much older than me and out of my age range.. One is abuse/abuse of power/SA/grooming/peadophilia. The other, is hopefully just a mid life crisis 😅 I guess we shall have to wait and see in the future, as he gets old, will he still only be dating women young enough to be his daughter? Or granddaughter? The line is very fine..
Your videos are just amazing. I literally am cleaning my room rn while listening to you talk and like ur voice is super calming and ur videos are really informative. I can tell u do a lot of research and put time in it. 😊
I think this is a really empathetic take! You are a good person with a nice heart and I too hope Drake can heal and redeem himself however possible. I feel terrible about his victims and what they went through and I hope they heal as well. As a survivor myself all I can hope for is light at the end of the tunnel and for people to get the help they need.
Bro these videos have been so freaking thorough and I love how they're worded, very clearly educated on stuff like SA, ab*se, child ab*se, substance issues, etc. I don't really know anything about this situation, and this was informative yet didn't make me feel all icky like something like true crime channels sometimes do. Well done great vid
I always knew Drake was a good person deep down. I can’t believe he went through all this alone. No child should ever have to face this kind of abuse. I can’t believe the entire time on drake and Josh / Amanda show he was going through this kind of stuff. His dad is amazing for seeing all these signs and knew it was wrong. I know he tried his hardest to protect drake. I’m glade he’s getting help and recovering. I’ve always enjoyed that one song he had on drake and Josh , “makes me happy”. I hope he can find his true happiness once again. I believe in him
12:44 I also really love how you're one of the few people that hit this nail on it's head, "both things can be true!!!" That statement couldn't be more true either!!! Alot of people always look for blanket defining traits or titles to put on someone, or else it might not make sense but the thing is both sides can be true!!
I like how huge RUclipsr like penguin0 and oompaville, you know..platforms with millions of subs don’t even bother to research, i watched videos by both of them about this docuseries and they just default to “drake= bad” cause everyone says so
This video is so insightful. It really helped me understand not only my reactions as a victim of SA and verbal abuse growing up, but others I've cared for deeply. Thank you! Sidenote: I'm familiar with the John Wayne Gacy case. I'm so sorry Drake. The cycle is hard to break, but not impossible. I hope we can all find happiness and peace.
I hate the answer of the worst you could imagine because I've been deep into true crime and the worse I can imagine is the kind of thing that leaves permanent, crippling damage. I don't know where the line is.
It’s interesting how we paint child molesters as monsters that create people who continue the cycle of abuse, but don’t question mothers for literally kicking the shit out of their children and always dismissing it like “but it’s your mother” or “she did it because she loves you”. My mom beat the shit out of me and when teachers asked about my bruises I always had to lie to protect her. Can you imagine a woman who lies to a cop about her black eyes to keep her husband from going to jail? How do you think it makes us feel?
Women constantly crucify men in our culture, but I've seen mothers be truly tyrannical. Where is the self awareness and contrition? Abuse doesn't belong to one gender, but it's easier for women to play the victim. Women, we have more power (and therefore responsibility) than most of us will ever understand or admit. I've known it since I was 14, so where was everyone else??
Unfortunately as someone who has been trapped in a long term relationship like this and being out with new relationships- I have seen the abuse shift. It’s like I’m two different people. It feels like I’m standing up for myself but it’s still wrong. It’s such a hard spot to be in because being told those things during abuse- I knew they were lies deep down. Now I don’t know if they are.
Ok, new favorite journalist of all time. Also...I wonder what it would be like if you took one of those last lines, about "I know this is a hard topic to discuss, but it's important to learn about this to keep people around you safe" at the beginning of the video. I have sometimes wondered about leading with that in these kinds of conversations.
I think she should have been in counselling. After all she was manipulated to. She's not without fault, but I understand that she wouldn't listen to his father if she was made to believe he was abusing his position in a way.

This story of what happened to this man, when he was a young boy, can cause such a massive amount of damage to someone that they may never be capable of feeling whole and at peace within themselves. It's so unfair and so incredibly disgusting that a man can ruin someone, as Brian peck did to drake (and God only knows who else) and just be allowed (after little more than one year locked up) to jump back into their life n pickup where they'd left off going forward, makes me sick to my core. The things listed that he did to that child were things he did happily and will do again given the chance and likely already has. Wtf is with the justice system that it allows a dangerous predator live their best life so they can hurt others whenever the mood strikes???? 😡
What happened to Drake should never have happened and I’m glad he is taking the steps to be in a better place. So angry his abuser got 16months. I understand why Drake got stuck in that circle, but as someone abused by a spouse that evil, I went through everything she said about the cycle. What made it worse was once I was thrown out, he turned on my son and I couldn’t do anything about it. I almost lost my son, but thankfully he reached out to a therapist and as soon as he was 18 he got away and I’m so glad he did.
This video just made me incredibly sad for this man but also very hopeful for the steps he is already taking to heal and take accountability. I hope it continues.
Sometimes as a survival tactic you learn the abusive behavior and do it back to your abuser by then it becomes a learned behavior and you can then do it to someone else, he needs to go to therapy and unlearn it. I had to do this too it’s hard but he can do it, once you’re aware of it, it helps to control it. With my narcissistic ex I would treat him how he treated me but then I ended up learning to be that way but I had to be aware of myself and be careful to not do that to anyone else and going to therapy helped me a lot. I could only imagine having an addiction on top of it but I know he can pull through this.
This is a really good video showing a psychological cycle of trauma and abuse. Thank you for that. Congrats to Drake for trying to get his life together, hopefully he'll continue working on his traumas, because that is a lengthy work.
I think this video can explain why Leonardo DiCaprio ONLY dates under 25. We call it weird, but I think you hit the nail on the head. The cycle. Leo was abused by Peck and others as a kid, now that he is older and never spoke about it he shows small signs and the biggest sign is who he dates and the age
@@sophiawilson8696 It’s almost like….this video explained why I said this?? And the proof that he only dated women under 25…….and it’s just a comment that’s an opinion…….Just a thought that you should consider 😄😄
It's like with my foster brother. The coercion was the fact that if I told anyone about what he was doing I could be torn away from my siblings. It was made even worse when his family wanted to adopt me along with my siblings. It could have changed everything. It took me almost 15 years to say anything. It is a scary thing. Drake was/is brave as hell.
I remember the media was not shy about exposing Drake Bell as a "monster" and "crazy" but why wasn't the grown ass man who abused him ever exposed in the same way?
Facts!
Because he had little to no power over Hollywood and his potential to make them money was proven to be very little at the end of drake and Josh so they simply left him out in the open rather than bury it under the carpet like Dan
@@JoseSanchez-fk9dg you don't think the headline "nickelodeon employee rapes child star" would sell?
because media pretends like a male SA'ing another male (or male identifying) isn't is harmful. it's just as harmful but media only truly weighs in on things when it's a male SA'ing a woman (or woman identifying). it's sick, unfair, and severely undermines men as SA victims just because they're men and should be "tough enough" to deal with it.
I feel so sad for drakes father. He saw all the signs and tried to do something about it, but still couldn’t protect his son in the end 😔

Edit: And good for his girlfriend’s mom for not ignoring it.
Just wanted to note, guilty is not the same as no contest:
Pleading guilty means *you admit* that you committed the crime.
Pleading no contest means accepting the conviction but *avoiding a factual admission of guilt*.
ILY, these Drake's apologists are nuts.

Amen, we are all sinners in need of a Savior. It's just getting them to see they need to be saved 😢
Drake's mom is a failure. She truly failed her kid. She had no regard for his welfare at all despite being warned by his dad.
@justicefool3942 I've seen Drake talk about his mother and it's clear he does hold her responsible... to a degree. the fact that disney hired a SEX OFFENDER is wildly disturbing, including the fact that they didn't originally know of his past says a lot about the children's television industry. not conducting background checks is a danger in itself when hiring people to work with kids. it is SICKENING that he was even allowed to continue working in the industry up until 2018/2019 because almost every show involves at least one child actor. as a survivor of SA, it kills me to see how that man was continuously enabled over the years. it is truly disgusting.
I really appriciate this video, it holds Drake accountable while also making it clear that hes part of a cycle, not the source of the issue. you provided one of the best explanations of the cycle of abuse, and why those who were abused often become abusive i have ever heard

Not much yo expect from someone who said did research on tick tock, life for real?
Very true. @@chelseatorrez2532
Really good focus points and research done here. Very well put together.
It’s so heartbreaking that Drake’s dad recognized Brian for what he is & tried to protect him, but ultimately it happened anyway. This is exactly why I’m so protective over my children, & I don’t care what anyone thinks about it. I’ll be the helicopter parent, whatever. 🤷🏻♀️
YES!!
I am so glad I found your page you explain things so so well
He (Drake) never matured psychologically beyond the age his abuse began.
Im not so sure if he is atracted to young females only or in special rather that he only can talk with people of that age because yeah as you said he didn't grow past the 14-15 years old, I agree it isn't on purpose and hopefully being in therapy would help him and prevent him from harming others
I saw a physichology comment on reddit about CSA and the therapist mention its not only in a mental way but in a physical way that the victims don't grow on extreme cases, after that I could only think that Drake didn't change at all after puberty even his voice is the same that he has at 14
Thanks for your detailed breakdown in your videos. Such a shame Dan and Nickelodeon isn't held accountable
Is this a new channel?? Because holy F it’s necessary to me now 😂😂
I really appreciate the way you approach these subjects.
I am sorry you had to go through that. I hope you continue to heal. ❤
as a victim of abuse both as a child and as a teen, I'm rooting for Drake's rehabilitation
Thank you for taking the time and research 🔬 to dig into all of this objectively.
Wow this video was amazing on explaining cycles of abuse thank you for educating others on it
Just finished the video and looked at how many subs u have. Im surprised, the quality of the investigation and the data is amazing (using peer reviewed studies, treating statements made outside a court of law that have not been proved and more). Congrats, I’ll be honored to be here from the beginning of your career. Keep up the professional work
I went through violent sexual abuse and I don't remember my life from 4 to 12 years old. I've been struggling with PTSD.
Im so sorry, just remember that what you went through is just your abusers fault
as someone who has been SA'd, I feel for Drake. he has done really bad things, don't get me wrong. their is no reason to be an abuser, and trying to date a 15 year old when your 21.
You don’t get treatment in jail.
I appreciate the balance in reporting that I have been seeing in your videos. There was a lot of information presented in this one that I didn’t know about, so thanks for the comprehensive coverage. … On a personal note, I also like your haircut. 🙂
Love how you investigate for your stories and show new fresh things....❤🎉❤🎉😊
He took away his protection: his father. You did an amazing job at breaking down how the cycle of abuse works. I had a friend who reminds me of this description. “Hurt people hurt people.”
Interesting. I wonder if that's why Leo Di Caprio only dates younger girls...
The other, is hopefully just a mid life crisis 😅
I guess we shall have to wait and see in the future, as he gets old, will he still only be dating women young enough to be his daughter? Or granddaughter? The line is very fine..
Thank you for the work you put into putting this video together. I agree that it is important to get the whole picture. 📺
Isn’t it true that as soon as he knew her age he stopped contact?
Yes. A lot of info regarding that case was left out of this video.

Which is quite ironic for a video claiming, in its title, to be covering info left out of the documentary.
I heard that he blocked her!
Your videos are just amazing. I literally am cleaning my room rn while listening to you talk and like ur voice is super calming and ur videos are really informative. I can tell u do a lot of research and put time in it. 😊

I am so glad you had this video. Thanks for this. Abuse is never easy to understand nor easy to mangle through.
You're doing a great job with these videos! Keep up the great work! ❤️
My heart breaks for Drake's Dad, he tried so hard to keep his son from that abuse.
Now I don’t know if they are.
ur content is very well put together and informative keep slaying
The girlfriend’s mother is also a real hero. She really caught on to what was going on and was the only one trying to help.
Just found your account. Your videos are well made and engaging. Great job with your story telling you kept me intrigued the whole time!
I freaking love your thoroughly researched and intelligent takes! Thank you so much for doing this!
His mother should be in jail.
Brian Peck isn't even in jail, you can't expect consequence for his mother

Preach!
Sexual child abusers dont NEARLY get enough time...16 months
The never do.
He was in jail for only 4 months as well
You are doing such a great job reporting! ♥️
You have no proof that! DiCaprio have no comment on this. He liking younger women maybe it his choice?🤷
We don't know that! DiCaprio have not saying anything.
