this always reminds me of what Jennette wrote about in her book.. if they wanted to give her that much money for her silence, they 100% have done the same thing to other actors. and most of them certainly accepted the money.
@user-wj6dt5bq3w it probably is way worse than what it was shown in the documentary. I think for example that something really bad happened to Amanda Bynes back there but she can’t talk about it. I don’t think it’s normal that she spent so much time alone with an adult man and apparently lived with him for a period of time or smth. why would they even spent time together alone outside of work? it’s really bizarre.
I don't know if I am being naive, but why can't people say what happened? If it constitutes a crime, then any legal contract loses its effect, right? Doesn't the US have public attorney (state attorney, idk the name) to investigate and sue?
Amanda Bynes was a beautiful young actress with an amazing future, and that piece of trash Schneider ruined her life. Plain and simple. He should be in prison for the rest of his miserable life.
Is it wrong to say I'm not surprised by any of this? There was a blatantly mean-spirited tone to The Amanda Show that even when I was young made me feel the production was full of shenanigans. There was always something off-putting about Schneider's shows. Like how many special needs characters there are who are depicted as screaming or having issues, and how many times characters get into humiliating or profane situations. I always wondered if there was anything similar while the cameras off and I was right. Except it was vastly worse than anything my young mind could dream up. I was pictured on-set pranks and such.
@@AfroJeffrey Bell pleaded guilty to felony attempted child endangerment and disseminating harmful material to a juvenile. He was sentenced to 2 years probation for grooming, sexual assault and sending sexually explicit messages to a 15 year old girl. A sad reminder that abused kids can sometimes go on to become abusers themselves as adults
Victoria Justice was 100% blackballed. She fell off the face of everything so quick without explanation, I always thought it was so odd as kid she was everywhere and then nowhere.
Thats sooooo not true. She still acts, doing better than some besides Ariana, she's on hallmark, lifetime, like many networks many romantic and I think 2 thriller like movies. She sang on a few movies. I've watch at least 10! 2 in the last year. Soooo not true. Dan still shit. But no this comments not true
It's so strange how such things were seen as just humor when I was younger. I was all "haha. Foot jokes. So silly" and now as an adult I realize how ... CREEPY it all was
This is why I'm legit having an outer body experience from the frustration when minors wanna tell me "you're the one doing the sexualising" when I'm pointing out sexualisation of minors in kpop for instance. like their brains actually are able to fucking comprehend and dissect that shit like an adult brain would. Ffs 15 yo me crushed on a singer who was 34 at the time, which is normal, you as a teen crush on people you find hot without thinking much about it cause it's not your responsibility but the adults and in my head cinema there was no problem for me to imagine myself with him cause a child's brain simply doesn't operate like an adult brain. Now as 32 year old a 15 yo with a 34 year old would be HORRIFYING. But it's because my brain literally finished developing and I learned how process things as an adult.
And it's an excuse adult creeps try to use to further spread that narrative among minors so they are more willing to accept creepy behavior from adults as long as it's not direct but executed by the minors instead. That way the responsibility from adults is completely stripped away as long as the child "consented". And an especially popular one is "you act like teenagers aren't sexual" like there's no difference between a private person and a kid being monitored and given space by adults doing that. There was this one kid Wonyoung who was on a survival show in Korea and nobody on the show objected her performing Side to Side by Ariana at THIRTEEN. They didn't forbid her, they made her learn a choreography, let her rehearse it etc all that to the moment they also let her perform it on live television and you've people defend that with their main line of defense "well, she chose it and wanted to sing it" SINCE WHEN ARE 13 YEAR OLDS KNOWN FOR GOOD DECISION MAKING??? THEY ARE KIDS.
I guess he's paying off or threatening so many people, they don't want to get sued for speculating if none of the actors are willing to come out and say it. But it's pretty obvious, when you connect the dots. He was a massive narcissist who was attracted to children and had a huge amount of power over them, as well as the power to silence them. Everything spells statutory *ape. And not just that, it seems like there was a ring with so many guys coming out and defending drakes abuser. No way Dan didn't know about this. I think he specifically wanted those guys on the set to groom the kids, and look what happened when Brian Peck was fired - Disney hired him immediately.
@@drewd2939 possibly true on what you said and agree with ur response to an extent. Pfft, pls. it's Netflix, it's always half assed. Many ppl are mad at Netflix for many reasons and that's one of em, inaccuracy. Not just inaccuracy but...releasing a stupid and controversal show called "cuties", if you remember that. Yep, they were pretty damn upfront with that shit using underage girls* instead of at least, actors pretending to be underaged to show whatever tf the show wanted to point out. (It's disgusting to me and a lot of ppl.) Oh, and some documentary that the real life person did not allow but somehow they got away with a few episodes? It's with that one known Latina actress. Whatever. In short: Netflix has their own stupid ass rules that everyone gots to follow. I think BIG companies KNOW what they're doing when they defend ppl like Brian Peck and Dan Schneider. Oh they do. It's just not a secret anymore. Clearly Disney's also suffering quite a bit with their employees doing some child trafficking. It's not a secret. (P.S. obv not everyone's is a victim or the offender. Point stands- big companies let shit slide all the time.)
The fact that Nickelodeon executives allowed all of this inappropriate behavior is very telling. They kept Dan because his shows were massively popular
And even worse because they could have vetoed all the porny things and the shows would still have been great. Now we have to look back at our childhoods and feel sad for what others had to go through to create some of our favorite TV memories.
IKR, and it wasn't just Dirty Dan's shows. A lot of other stuff had kinky stuff in it and perverts behinds the scenes (**cough cough** ren and stimpy and Loud house). but they did NOTHING about it! I think the Dan Schneider stuff was the biggest issue, because he was working for the channel for so long and so many kids grew up with his shows. Whether your era was All That/Kenan and Kel era, or iCarly/Victorious era, or the Henry Danger era, you were all equally shocked and surprised when you found out that he was a p*dophile. Honestly, my family and I were a little surprised at first, but then we remembered how many perverted jokes were in his shows and we're like "It all makes sense now". Also I know my reply is getting a bit too long to read, but I also want to point out how tame Disney channel was compared to Nickelodeon. Like, people are suspicious about the Disney Channel too, but I have been rewatching a lot of their sitcoms recently (mostly Good Luck Charlie, Liv & Maddie, and Bear in the big blue house) and it seems like Disney actually knew that there were kids watching, and thought bout their audience. Nickelodeon just didn't have as many rules, and Dan put his own fetishes into the shows without realizing how many 6-10 year olds would be seeing it.
"child actors should be grateful to have a job" children don't need jobs much less to be grateful for them. Just cast adults in teen roles they've done it forever and no one has ever complained about it
You cant cast an adult to make a 10yo. Also, kids want to act too. They want money and fame too. You aren't protecting children by prohibiting them to act.

Anyone ever notice one of the only parent figures in iCarly, Freddy’s mother, was absolutely crazy and almost hated? Crazy and hated because of how much of a helicopter parent she was. Dan wanted to drive wedges between parents and kids of America.
yeah i kind of notice that. like 90s and 2000s it did seem like the media was trying to make it seem like parents just kind of were constantly getting in the way of kids being kids.(if they showed up)
I wouldn't go that far, although I agree. I think he had issues with the types of parents like Freddy's mum, so he made them the villains of his shows. It was those types of parents who prevented Dan from doing stuff to the kids, though. I hear he was also racist too. Notice how he stereotyped black people and Asian people a lot.
Money and the courts rules about "evidence" I'd say they do a paternity test on spears daughter. It's also annoying that I'm sure they're bringing the excuse of "They're making all this up" "Why wouldn't they have said anything sooner" and you know the fact that Nickelodeon has "hush money" and they're still able to be in business is just a big red flag for how everything is run. That Predators with lots of money are able to get away with lots of things. When you have enough victims and evidence it seems to be the only way to bring them down. I'm assuming there will be an investigation soon and this will be taken to trial when they have enough support to bring a disgrace of a being down.
Dan Schneider strikes me as the type of guy who was always rejected by the girls in middle and high school and so he sought to vicariously punish them by humiliating all the women and girls he worked with. The guy never was and still isn't physically attractive. He most likely was ostracized for his weight and had decades to change that feature about himself because he looks very slovenly. I repeat: he has made more than enough Hollywood money to do something about his looks. Apparently, he had to prove to himself that he didn't have to do anything about his appearance and still get the (underage) girl. He's still stuck at that stage of life where he was an overlooked preteen/teen. Where was his wife in all this? Did she not watch the crap shows he produced? She didn't have questions? Are they even still together? I get Jabba the Hut/Princess Leia vibes from this dude.
@Coco-lz4gg There’s usually a story like that for most bullies. They’re secretly unhappy and bitter in some way and want others to suffer so they feel better.
No doubt it's serious trauma. He exhibits the signs of narcissistic personality disorder. You have to go through something traumatic for that to happen.
I remember this video from years ago. Ppl wondered for years and years why children who became celebrities became addicted to drugs alcohol ect and cannot keep themselves together or relationships.
3 days down this rabbit hole and no end in sight. I feel so bad for Amanda. She was enormously talented, beautiful and had sweet soul. Could've easily kept doing more movies with heavier roles. Comedy and tragedy are incredibly good friends.
My mom never let me watch iCarly, Victorious, or Drake and Josh. She always said it was because “there were no parents around” and she got bad vibes from them. I didn’t understand at the time but now I’m like omg she was right
same!!! i couldnt watch those or wizards of waverly place and etc because if there were parents around, the kids would basically bully their parents lmao and my mom did nooot like that. im grateful for that honestly after all this is coming out. i grew up watching rugrats and h20 just add water and stuff instead.
I mean I find that in itself a bit weird tbh. Feels like forced dependency in niche areas. Which is usually an act of control and not care. “You can’t see kids that aren’t dependant on parents being around” is interesting…. Like that’s not stopping your kid seeing someone Inappropriate, that’s making sure that what your kid sees is about you.
The real question that needs to be asked is "why hasn't Dan been officially investigated by law enforcement agencies?" Id put good money Dirty Dan has a a lot of PC hard-drives full of sick photos.
Because it's not just Dan it's nikalodion as a whole, and let's not get started on Disney they've been had this agenda of sexualizing the youth with subliminal messages. It's a deep rabbit hole. 2024 is the year of truth! All the liars and predators will be exposed.
I believe Amanda, Ariana, and Jennette all were victims to Dan because it’s not a coincidence they all got their “own” shows. He only gave shows to his favorites

Hollywood will have the nerve to tell you "think of the children, save the children" then behind closed doors, hurt the very children they claim to advocate.
yeah kinda like how most people in public are all like, "equality! love each other equally!" but then behind closed doors you all still shit on the fat kid and the autistic kid. even better is a movie or show has an actor portray a character and if you the fan hate them you all sit here and shit on them so bad you cancel a career but you know in 20 years you suddenly loved that same actor after shitting on them. Kinda two faced just like Hollywood. weird how you and holly wood have that in common.
I remember that as a young teenager watching those shows made me confused of why these child stars would be so sexually provocative. The only conclusion I came to was that kids in the US were just more advanced in puberty and that I was far behind... Even the young boys and girls seemed to be joking about being intimate with each other kind of put pressure on me and my friends.
It's not just Dan Schneider Hollywood goes back over a hundred years with being sick sickly towards children and abusive and stuff just Google baby Peggy she was a silent film star back in the 1920s who was a probably considered the first authentic child star. She struggled for years too with parents that frittered all her millions away an awful relationships but in the end she made it okay and was a writer and died in 2021 at the age of 101.
I felt the same way! I was looking at the clothes they were wearing and listening to how they were talking about their boyfriends or girlfriends at the time and it was so strange that they were supposed to be around my age. I still vividly remember them having underwear in their lockers for no apparent reason, and Tori asking Trina why hers were so big and showing off that she herself wears nearly a thong.
I remember even as a child, all of the foot jokes and weird squirting of items would make me feel uncomfortable because the actors looked so embarrassed and it never made sense for the plot. It's funny that any actor that has faced scrutiny in media by grown adults have all been sexually assaulted by Hollywood. I thank god my parents were so protective and real with me about what went on for kids in entertainment because I remember idolizing these kids work and wanting to do the same
I’m so glad someone said this because as a kid I knew some scenes in my favorite shows were not meant to be for kids, I had to stop watching the Amanda show bc it gave me the creeps even as a kid. when I got older victorious came out and the Ariana scenes made me sick. After hearing “the I Carly cast were all more “innocent” then victorious cast” I 1000 percent know it’s because they had Jerry protecting them and taking abuse/ harassment from Dan because he stood inbetween them and Dan
ikr! I never heard Miranda Cosgrove speak out for anything against Dan, but Jennette sure did! I wonder if he actually left Miranda alone and picked on Jennette instead? Even though thank god Jerry was there to put a buffer between them (when he could). I find it hard to believe Dan didn't (try) to abuse Miranda in some way either. You can tell she was uncomfortable around him as well.
Miranda likely had better parental figures than Jeanette so Dan found it easier to target Jeanette over Miranda but still would’ve tried it but thank god for Jerry Trainor
@@danielleking262i think also it had to do with parents. Miranda Cosgroves parents were very protective of her either her father or mother was always with her and on set when she was acting. They watched over her. Jennette McCurdy mother was terrible to her daughter in many ways including exploiting her, mentally and even sexually abusing her. She pushed and pushed Jennette into acting and pushed her to "do whatever it takes". That is something easy for a predator of young people to see and recognize and take advantage of.
All these grown men who wrote the shows with Dan didn’t want female writers because they knew woman would stand up to there disgusting antics and ethics
Very Good point!!! The female writers would've noticed the sexism/fetishism and shut it down! Just like the parents were excluded, the female writers had to "know their place".
at that time women would ot have objected to the inappropriate writing because they wanted their jobs so badly as shown by the 2 female writers on the nikolidian shows
KNOW what's fked, Amanda tried telling the world this as they laughed in her face and now years later people are ready to believe and accept her when she's already endured it all alone and is probably on the other side of being over it, but here we are now flooding it in her face again :/ poor woman
I'm not from the US so I didn't get a lot of the news surrounding Amanda's breakdown, but didn't the media paint it like drugs were the issue? Was the info about her burner twitter known? I feel like if they only presented half the facts the reaction (especially before me too) is kind of what was conditioned. People now are more critical, especially after Jeanette's book.
I think it was due to media, stigmatization of addiction, & mental health. People didn't treat these celebs like humans, I mean, we still kinda deal with that to this day. I remember in the 2000-2010 magazines would have these titles & the pictures on the cover, trying to convey certain audience & create a certain image of these celebs (bad because of struggling addiction, or having a mental breakdown), these magazine would exploit their mental health for views & clicks. Whatever draws attention, they will try it & use it to their advantage.
A strange thing I've noticed on icarly was the weird amount of men who would randomly flirt with carly out of nowhere! like sam's boyfriend jonah, fred, nevel, and freddies obsession with carly. it almost feels like dan was projecting how he was feeling when he was around miranda cosgrove considering he was so touchy with her and she was the star of icarly like amanda bynes was for the amanda show.
@@Boop-89there was a clip in QOS where the cast was on a red carpet with Dan, and it really stood out to me that Spencer seemed to be keeping space between Dan and, particularly, Jenette. My mom did the same thing when I was younger. Maybe she would have been wrong and I would have been okay, but I'm so happy that she made the choice to let me be mad at her with the potential she was just being overprotective and I missed out on a modeling career, than for her to allow me to do it and be right and now my whole life is destroyed because I was abused.
It is so disturbing how crazy predators can seem so normal and kind. As someone that dealt with a lot of abuse as a child I can attest to this. Even now working with teenaged predators, they come off as some of the nicest people until you realize why they are in placement. It's just scary!!
I dunno... he screams peado to me. Im surprised more people didn't notice it. He reminds me of this creepy councillor I had in middle school.. he always had this creepy peado smile on his face and would stare at the students boobs. He said inappropriate things while smiling his peado smile and giving peado vibes... I also heard he tried stroking a girl's leg one time. Dan Schneider totally gives that vibe... and with all the weird shit he had the kids doing, like the feet stuff.. im surprised no adults called him out.
All agreed, sad thing is, lots and lots of actors and actresses did come out asking for help and nobody listened, well everyone who was paid off cared more about the money 😒. It's sad I remember watching alot of these shows when I was a kid, my bro and sis liked alot of these shows too. So so sad 😞
Correction: Sickelodeon. And I agree, too. I grew up watching most of their live action shows in the 90’s and 2000’s. and as a 18 to 19 year old, I watched iCarly and Victorious with my younger sister. We didn’t see all of the episodes, thankfully. There are things that flew over my head. My mind wasn’t still fully developed yet, even at 18 and 19. Now that I found out about this, this month, I hate that we enjoyed these shows. Edit: My sister also watched Sam and Cat. I didn’t see much of it.
I’m about the same age as the likes of Hillary duff and Amanda byne so looking back and watching these things reminds me of how much I was objectified as a tween and young teen . It’s more than icky it’s predatory . Those adults were awful thankfully I think my generation are doing better for our kids and the kids coming up now
The elephant in the room is why isnt he in jail or at least being investigated. This was an incredible deep dive investigative report, I'm very impressed with how much work had to be done in so little time.
I saw the documentary and based on that I feel he was immature, a dick with a lewd sense of humor (and don't for a fact think teenage boys aren't into raunchy humor) and had issues with women (probably from low self esteem issues), but not a predator(unlike some people who worked on his shows). Also keep in mind the documentary did mention there were several inquiries into his behavior and he was ultimately 'fired'. So yeah, not a great guy but stick to the confirmed evidence. Which all amounts to being a dick and a toxic boss. Assumption has always been the mother of all fuck-ups.
@@Zeitgeist6 the whole "oh, he was just immature" is an extremely outdated way of defending male predators. He is a grown-up man, not a teenager. He should know right from wrong, and if he is not capable of self-control or basic decency around kids, he does not belong as a producer of children's shows (or a producer of anything, really). The reason why the documentary was careful about him, is because not only is he big with Nickelodeon even after he left, but Nickelodeon has always been thick with pedophiles. Remember the guy who did Ren and Stimpy in the 90s? He groomed two teenage girls for sex while promising to help them get animation jobs one day (which he did not do). He was an abusive hebephile. Nickelodeon has ALWAYS had scandals with hebephiles and pedos. Dan Schneider, Brian Peck and the others aren't exceptions, they are the norm for Nickelodeon. Big fkn surprise then that only a few of them ever went to jail, and even then for like only a few months at a time. Dan is a racist, sexist hebephile, perhaps even a pedophile, who climbed his way into power because he enjoyed controlling others, he enjoyed humiliating women and children, and he enjoyed broadcasting his fetishes. This kind of behavior is unfortunately not uncommon among directors. There have been many big name directors who foisted their fetishes onto performers in their movies, and who also forced performers to engage in activities (even with each other) that were very inappropriate (and by that I do not mean consensual, choreographed sex scenes, but things like springing molestation onto actors or actresses without their prior knowledge). Almost no celeb has EVER been convicted for this. Roman Polanski is still roaming free. Kevin Spacey is still roaming free. They all are. If you want to become a predator, become a director of movies or theaters, and you can get away with anything pretty much. People like yourself are SO willing to believe that predators who are directors should be excused because they are "temperamental" and "immature", or because they are low-esteem nerds who grew up and now want to "take back" the alleged bullying they had received. News flash, lots of us were bullied at a young age, and the vast majority of us did not become predators. We do not harass colleagues, we do not try to control others, we do not display our fetishes for the world to see and try to engage others in our fetishes without their consent. If Dan had hang-ups regarding bullying when he was an overweight teenager, then why did he discriminate against overweight people and nerds in his shows? Why did he fill his shows with pretty boys and pretty girls, readily available for any pedo to come along and attack them? The only exception was Josh Peck, and he was the "fat guy butt of every joke" character who was bullied until he lost weight.
@@Zeitgeist6there are also clips here on youtube of his behavior. Hugging teenage girls from behind isn't really as a 30+ year old man doesn't fall under the 'immature behaviour'
@@Zeitgeist6 Yeah, the extensive scenes he wrote into shows having kids indulge in what we now know are widely held sexual fetishes aren't a problem at all!
Funny. As a preteen, I actually wanted to be on All That, in 2003 there was an audition offer going around. Luckily, I didn’t put any serious thought to even ask my parents if I could audition. It sounded fun but it was more of a wishful thinking. And even if I did get the courage to ask my parents, I’m pretty sure they would’ve pulled me outta there the second they saw anything suspicious.
@@Macéadrom yeah, that’s what you call it when you ask if you can do something and your parents say absolutely not. Would anything have come of it otherwise? No way to tell. Dan thought Amanda was going to be his ticket out of children’s tv. He didn’t want to be known for children television. If he could make a show for an older audience that was successful he might break out of tv for kids. When Amanda was a kid she could make him bigger on children’s programming and as she grew older Amanda could further it even more. It failed and he returned to children’s tv. It’s pretty disgusting that he was willing to use a child like this and ruin her life to possibly further his career. He treated so many people with disrespect especially women and girls.
He destroyed her life. She is so naturally funny, and her style was so great at such a young age. Had she been able to have been treated well, she may have a completely different story or even if she was always going to develop a mental illness, had she had someone watching out for her best interests she could have gotten treatment and still be working. There's several stars that have been honest about mental health struggles and although some of them go through bad phases they get good treatment
The worst part is people knew over a decade ago... but it was nearly only talked about on and around 4chan, so obviously, most people didn't pick up on it.
It's always insane to me that this stuff floats around openly there for years and then some room-temp IQ youtuber with 9 million followers suddenly announces it like they found it out themselves.
Wait until you look up everyone on a children's role in any Hollywood production with the words "police report". Then look up children actress deaths and put 1 and 1 together. The whole industry is beyond sick. Whistle blowers are plentiful. To bad we prioritize our content over people's voices. There are no angels in this industry and unfortunately this doesn't even qualify as the tip of the iceberg.
It’s heart breaking to learn about all the trauma that a lot of our favorite stars on Nickelodeon went through. Proving how dark Hollywood is as well as the dark side of being a child star.
This really is the part 2 to that documentary. I’m always skeptical about videos like this but the fact you showed like legit googleable evidence and still added to the story is impressive. Great video.

Ariana might not admit that something was wrong on set, but that's probably the core issue to her homewrecking, cheating, and self sabotage...she grew up with needing men's approval for her career
the wife lilly jay stated that she was unaware that she would be on the record and did not know what that meant. the only things that she stated officially in the original page six (a gossip tabloid lmao) was "not a girl's girl" and that her family was colateral damage BECAUSE the media was focusing on ariana and dalton's separation and blowing the story up. She THEN spoke with TMZ and said everything else that was not previously stated BY HER was false. every person involved in any rumor of her past relationships spoke out saying there wasn't any cheating. "but the timeline-" oh so we find out the exact minute a celebrity breaks up with someone that's when it happens? NO because they have their own personal life. YOU. DONT. KNOW. SHIT. "Some child actors are not able to differentiate fantasy from reality." This is very true. I have a friend who's name I won't say to protect their safety as they're no longer in the limelight but, as a child, they had to portray a sui••dal kid. And they remember the director yelling at them "jump like you're gonna k••• yourself. Do it and make it look real", amongst many other scenes which my friend was to portray such dark thoughts. They felt so real to the point in which ended up being very detrimental to their psyche. They still struggle with those thoughts. The environment which you provide for a child really determines what sort of path they end up taking.
It really is spiritual, to deal with that as a child and have all of these dark experiences thrown at you, that’s gonna do something to your heart. Praying for your friend I hope they heal from that experience.
All the things Amanda Bynes seems to be expressing happened to her sounds a huge amount like Britney Spears' story. Especially taking away her autonomy by manipulating how bad her mental health appears to others. A terrifying and horrific life of gaslighting...
I know my childhood was protected because when I watched these shows as a kid, it all went over my head. After watching the documentary, I am utterly bewildered.
As a legal student I’d like to say. You don’t need to censor words like rape, abuse, etc. I myself suffered sexual abuse at a very young age. People need to confront that trauma because it can destroy us. Also that’s def Dan’s baby.
Some social media will put down the video if it have all the triggered word like rape, abuse, kill, genocide, abuse. So better for content creator to just censored the word.
Agreed. We all know what it means anyway so we’re just being “protected” from syllables, not even the concept (which would miss the point of the video). Plus it feels dystopian.
The parents are definitely to blame. I remember being in Elementary, I would always be selected for the lead role in school plays. I would learn the script just by reading it a few times! On top of that I was just a "natural" actress. One of my Teachers suggested my mom put me in acting school, mind you I was born and raised in L.A. where most child actors manifested (some had to travel the world). My mom (without hesitation) told that Teacher that I was going to College. Years later I thank God for my mom that I didn't end up just like a lot of child Actors! I can proudly say I am a Professional Therapist with 4 college degrees! Thank you mom!
@@LeifBrostrom yes, they are! They saw things happening and let it happen. just so their kids could be famous and make them money. The one dad told his ex wife not to leave their son alone with someone ever but she did and he did all kinds of things to him.
Because they’re controlling everything. But calling this out makes you a racist or a conspiracy theorist lol Even tho it‘s always the „Weinsteins“, „Schneiders“ or „Peck‘s“ of the world who get away with shit like that.
Money talks and most likely they're all in it together. Hollywood has been abusing kids since the beginning of it. Look into Shirley Temple, Judy Garland, Natalie Wood, for starters.
Sadly it doesn't end with Dan Schneider. This stuff is rampant in Hollywood. If you see a child/teen show on TV, there's a very high chance that most of the cast is being abused behind the scenes. This has been going on for decades.
Exactly! Shirley Temple is another example of this disgusting stuff going on in Hollywood. It's been happening since the beginning, and it's sickening to think about how it all goes under the radar again and again. Everyone knows where the predators are, but no one can touch them thanks to the money / power they have.
@@TheLonelyCamgirl Reportedly, MGM producer/composer Arthur Freed flashed her during what was supposed to be a contract meeting, and years later Temple still reacted to the incident the same way she did at the time: nervous, panicky laughter (which angered Freed enough that he threw her out of his office and her MGM deal was scuttled after only one movie),
And after Jennette McCurdy came out with her book, she was invited to the Eric Andre show. The way he was acting with her, makes it even creepier after knowing all of this about Nickelodeon as a whole let alone Dan Schneider
Imagine if he did everything right. Advocated for children, wrote child safe/friendly content. The amount of influence that could have been & the amount of power just miss used is sad. This could’ve been something children felt comfy in if the adults only advocated for them. If you were nice to children & was the good influence you shouldve been, you couldve helped so many that were in situations DAN put them in…
That’s why we had Mr. Roger’s & his Neighborhood. He *truly* cared about children & what they were seeing on TV. He even advocated in senate to get funded for his show, it’s the most wholesome footage on RUclips. If we didn’t have monsters like Dan, we wouldn’t know to appreciate the *heroes* like Mr. Roger’s. 🫶🏼❤
people can try to say that the dirty jokes are just jokes, but this is just grooming in the highest of degrees. they literally primed children to be okay with inappropriate content and concepts so that adults could get close to them without them questioning it. imagine how easy it would have been to spot and stop brain peck before it got too serious with drake if all of the adults weren't constantly hanging onto and affection bombing every kid that entered the studio. this shit is not okay. as quentin reviews said it, your entertainment should not be worth the suffering of real children.
@@zuglymonster I think he ultimately was bought. His silence, at least- regarding Dan. Someone paid for his legal issues recently, being “drake campana” in Mexico 100% was NOT paying enough to get him out of the charges the way he got out of them. Instead of being a registered SE offender, he got probation. He raped a teenage girl- watch her video testimony at trial- it’s gut wrenching. Drake went on to BE the predator and THIS SHOW is how he regains some public sympathy, and recovers his image a little. “He’s not an evil predator! He’s a VICTIM!” I mean, ALL sexual deviancy comes from trauma- so all predators have been victims at some point. Drake doesn’t deserve a full welcoming back into the fold. @@zuglymonstercontroversial opinion: i do think dan was being legitimately supportive. dan was particularly harsh and cruel towards the women working behind the scenes and the young female actresses. he would scream in the faces of girls younger than 10 years old for screwing up lines and humiliate female writers. not to mention how he would just blatantly sexualize the underage female teens on icarly & victorious both on and off screen. he’s a massive sexist is what i’m tryna say, but i think that’s news to no one. jason handy was arrested for grooming young girls on the sets of schneider’s shows and to my knowledge he basically said nothing about it other than “well, that shouldn’t have happened.” i don’t think he said anything to the victims or gave his support or anything. meanwhile he gave 100% of his support towards drake bell’s case. i’m not saying that’s a bad thing at all, what drake endured was abhorrent and he needed all the support he could get, especially with so many big names in Hollywood being on his abuser’s side. but i feel like i gotta ask the question, with everything we know about about dan and how he treats women and young girls… if the genders were reversed and an underage girl was being abused by an older man on his set, would he have been on the victim’s side? would he have said anything at all? the fact that i don’t know the answer to that question is… telling.
Dan reminds me of my old math teacher. Thankfully nothing was sexual but hed isolate me after class and shout right in my face and bully me which was so scary as a kid. It’s so disgusting for any adult to abuse their power especially to children.
Been there.... oddly he was the math teacher as well.... gave me years of trauma. He was inappropriate although thankfully wasn't in an environment where he could lay a finger on me.
I'm sorry that happened to you. People who abuse someone who's not in a position to be able to fight back are the lowest of the low. Your math teacher is someone who hated himself, and the way he treated you didn't improve the way he felt about himself. Your math teacher will probably live his entire life being a miserable unhappy person. Don't let that person take you happiness away from you.
Omg. A similar thing happened to me as a teenager. My mum got me to go to a private math tutor, cause I was really bad at it. This ex-teacher was an old man and occasionally he’d sit right next to me and would tell me how pretty I was and sometimes put his arm around me. I told him to stop touching me and that I found it inappropriate. My mum didn’t believe me. It was so weird, nothing happened after that. It was scary and I was a teenager. I can’t imagine what these kids went through.
For me it was an English teacher. He got fired then applied for a job in another state’s all girls middle school. By some miracle my cousin was an administrator there and called to ask my opinion…and I told her in no uncertain terms to not hire him.
I really disagree with the idea that Liz dated a man who very clearly groomed her to keep her safe "from other creeps". She still dated a creep. She married a creep. Doesn't matter if he was "more handsome" than the other grown men there.
i always thought as a kid that the constant foot thing in nickelodeon shows was weird. some of the bits were funny and just weird things kids do, but it was SO often. absolutely foul.

It honestly disturbs me how such shows that I enjoyed as a kid influenced my mindset and turned out to be just a surface cover for what was happening behind the scenes
I honestly think they should get rid of child actors, and do what they did in the movie Grease. They hired actors that were obviously adults, and just pretended like they were high school students.
Seems like that's the case pretty often nowadays. Plenty of shows have actors playing teenagers, who are clearly in their 20s. But I guess for kids' TV channels they wanna make it relatable, or something. And anyway, kids just watch RUclips now
Honestly I think there isn't anything wrong with that! Not to mention, people these days are looking younger and younger without all the constant smoking so I think it could be pulled off a lot easier!
That works for some shows but now the issue is how children are growing up watching full adults play teenagers in shows and movies who have flawless skin and developed bodies and it’s affecting mental health and body image l, I myself can say seeing adults play kids did effect me growing up, it’s such a fine line to walk between wanting adults to play teens or even kids and kids playing their age, really what needs to happen is a strict protocol on kids acting. Another option is to cgi or ai children into shows and movies which I personally think will start tohappen more often in the next years
@@savannahcassel9714 I mean, even teens were forced to look 'flawless' in these teen shows. I remember seeing how thin iCarly's main girls were and feeling bad about my own body for not being like them (Jeanette had anorexia back then but I wasn't aware of it). I even remember reading Miley Cirus for Hannah Montana had a jaw/ teeth/ whatevs operation to not make her use brackets when using them could had helped teens relate more to her.
My former Police Dept took several reports about the shenanigans over at Nickelodeon. Even I took one and I worked graveyard. The investigations were stonewalled time and time again. Their Corporate and Legal made things impossible and on further interviews victims suddenly forgot details (bought off to shut up)
When I was a kid, this was one of the couple of running gags on iCarly I thought was weird and I thought it was just me. Good to know I’m not the only one who didn’t find Gibby randomly taking off his shirt funny.
I remember, when my son was younger, complaining about the lack of parents in even the kid shows like paw patrol. The adults are completely useless. Now, it doesn’t feel like I was off base thinking that’s weird programming for kids.
Unrelated to the video topic but another reason this could be is that kids irl essentially don’t have much power on their own or feel like they’re lesser because they’re kids. Shows where the character is a child or tween but is seemingly more competent, motivated and witty than the other adults like in your example can be considered a power fantasy for kids who otherwise lack power in their own life allowing said kids to project their ideals onto the character in their age range(think Roald Dahl books for example) Your comment actually made me think of a video from film theory I believe, where they discuss the lack of positive male role models in media. It’d be really nice if we had shows that could present to a child what normal and acceptable behaviour from their parents actually is to help empower kids to know when they need help.
Also the way shows aimed at kids AND parents alike who shamed and made fun of parents for being "overbearing" just because they cared about their child's safety and spent time with them. For kids, it was, "Aw, does your mommy spend time with and look after you? You're such a baby! Your mom is weird. You need to get away from your parents so you can live your life. Parents don't understand, and they always ruin the fun because they care so much about safety." and for parents, it was, "You sometimes watch and spend time with your kid? Wow. You're such a helicopter parent! You're doing too much. You need to relax. Leave them alone. The world is so safe. You're just paranoid. You're just making your kids soft, and you're going to keep them from being independent! How dare you!" I mean, I never worked in Hollywood, but this conditioning even worked on me. I was gaslit into thinking my parents were crazy for looking after me from a far distance while I was outside and for not letting me be alone with adult strangers, and I know a lot of people my age who think the same way I used to, claiming they were "raised by helicopter parents" because their parents worried about and did normal things that parents have always done. And I know a lot of people my parents' age who hardly spent time with their kids who claim to be "helicopter parents", or they feel guilty for acting like normal parents. I mean, I know that being *too* strict to a point where a child has zero autonomy or privacy is very toxic, but it seems that Hollywood would try to frame normal parent behavior as "extreme", almost like the wanted to gaslight the public into thinking that not having any kind of relationship with your parent at all is "healthy", and that parents who bond with or protect their kids are "crazy" or "ruining their children". Sometimes a parent character in a show/movie will just look after their kid while in public or for having a good relationship with their kid, and the child would get made fun of for "being babied". It would make sense that they'd try to convince kids and parents of this, because having kids who don't have a close relationship with their parents and parents who are inattentive/unavailable/oblivious leaves the kids vulnerable to grooming.
@@lynnboartsdye1943 yeah, I get your point. I would like to see something more normal and realistic. EVERY adult shouldn't be so reliant on children to come and solve their problems just so kids can feel like they have autonomy. But, showing parents who respect their kids as people while still creating safe boundaries would be relatable imo.
Im really grateful for this video, its eye opening and goes where other docs dont even though the content is taboo or uncomfortable to expose. Thank you! And may all these poor souls get justice for all the crimes commited by these predators.
My mother lived “vicariously” through me also as it was HER dream to be a model. She was my mom manager and she was so enabling of the abusive industry. My father born and raised in Hollyweird, protected me as much as he could.
I think she did come out with some things she went through on twitter...she got hate and a lot of ppl didn't believe her. She's moving on with her life and healing. She said her piece but no one wanted to listen. She's just in a different place in her healing process.
Just discovered your channel today and this is probably the best coverage I’ve found in this subject so far. Pretty blown away by the quality of this content in relation to how many subs the channel has right now. Excited to follow and see where you’re at 6 months or a year from now. I really enjoy the editing style, and from a journalism perspective you’re on fire. You’re anticipating and answering all the questions of the viewer through the video very keenly.Definitely deserves some better camera and sound equipment, although there’s nothing bad about the current quality. I just think the content would really benefit further, and overall based on my own professional experience Im confident that the current subs you have alone is more than enough to effectively mobilize your audience/community to quickly upgrade all sorts of potent aspects of your end product and platform in general. There’s virtually an endless amount of avenues to executing this today too!
I've been in the sports industry for over 15 years, and parents living vicariously through their kids is as common as speaking English. I see it damn near daily... kid dragged to practice by their parents, extra training on the side, private lessons with instructors, playing in offseason leagues so that the kid is on the field/ice year round. A lot of times 5, 6, 7 days a week, all year round. Inevitably, the kid burns out. Im talking public meltdown, kid crying refusing to put gear on and play, parents screaming at them. It gets ugly. Should be classified as child abuse. Poor kids.
I bet. I don't do that s h it to my kids. If they want to do they do, if no then let's watch TV or play games. I ain't keeping up with no one. Neither are my kids.
@theoneandonly1158 the thing that bothers me is that these people don't realize they aren't ever going to see a pro league. We're talking a couple hundred people playing at the pro level in the major 4 sports (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey) in any given season. The 1% of the 1% ever make it pro. They're just torturing their kid because they themselves weren't good enough to make it. It's despicable behavior from an adult, not to mention clueless. Edit: phrasing
This is hands down one of the best videos post Quiet on Set. You really did your research and broached a lot of kernels that popped up over the years that went largely under reported. Keep up the great work!
1.) Now that I have watched "Quiet On Set", I'm pretty sure the two writers that shared a salary have both said that their sharing that salary was actually illegal. I'm 98 percent sure of that. 2.) The fact that Dan thought that women weren't funny but he also hired them to write comedic bits for his shows and act out comedic bits for his shows doesn't make sense to me at all. 3.) I will NEVER understand why the hell Dan's wife has continued to stay with him, if they are still together; especially with the pregnancy scandals. 4.) I have never heard of an apology tour.
I think if anyone believes this documentary to be "true" they are fools. Child actors cannot handle when they grow up and no one wants to hire them, and they are just regular people. They need the CASH and will do and say anything to get it. But not for Dan, these ingrates would have never been anything.
Dan probably hired those women writers as a smokescreen , to give him cover for having those raunchy inappropriate jokes in the shows . Without them it would have been a boys club / lockerroom talk ...
It infuriates me how rampant sexual abuse is in Hollywood, particularly towards children. Predators can abuse their power by putting their sick and perverse fantasies on screen or acting on them behind closed doors. At the very least these kids were explored and endured mental abuse and sexualisation on screen and at the very worse suffered horrific levels of sexual abuse. They were robbed of their childhoods and have suffered devastating life-long consequences. Children are the most vulnerable of society and need protected!
not to mention the song “LA boyz” in victorious. that song had soooo many suggestive lyrics in it like “it gettin kinda crazy under the lights” , “let’s give it up for them LA boyz” , “lookin so hot down in hollywood” , “you know they got got the goods” , “LA boyz come play with me”. These lyrics should NEVER be broadcasted nation wide to a bunch of creeps who’s kids didn’t quite understand the meaning of them. disgusting.
Honestly, it isn't even just that song. Most of the songs and choreo in Victorious were REALLY sexual in nature, (as was most of the show of course) and even as a kid watching the show, I thought it was odd how adult the characters were, for being teenagers. I had the a CD with the music on it as a kid, and as an older teenager, I re-listened and was genuinely SHOCKED that this was supposedly for children.
Meanwhile, look on the bright side for Me. When I listen to the Songs of one of my favorite Cartoons ever made: Jake and the Never Land Pirates/Captain Jake and the Never Land Pirates, thankfully, the Songs barely have any kind of Squick-y content that has gotten out of hand.

I don’t understand how the people around this behavior can even tolerate this. When my brother found out the neighbor was being shady with the kids, he caught him out while he was getting his mail. When the high school senior made inappropriate advances on some girl at a party, her brother set him straight. How were all the men around Dan so spineless to allow this?
The psychology of it is interesting. Because after watching the MJ documentary- in two parts I wondered why the parents let their kids alone with him. The parents are either so start struck and unable to “complain” or they assume their kids will be fine because they don’t expect celebrities to be criminals. Or they’re fulled by money, and if the kid is cut off from cash, so are they.
I hate that the actors can't come straight out and say what happened without Nickelodeon's legal team coming after them. They deserve justice.
fr its so sad…this whole situation is so sad and disturbing…

this always reminds me of what Jennette wrote about in her book.. if they wanted to give her that much money for her silence, they 100% have done the same thing to other actors. and most of them certainly accepted the money.

There was always something off-putting about Schneider's shows. Like how many special needs characters there are who are depicted as screaming or having issues, and how many times characters get into humiliating or profane situations. I always wondered if there was anything similar while the cameras off and I was right. Except it was vastly worse than anything my young mind could dream up. I was pictured on-set pranks and such.

The fact that Nickelodeon executives allowed all of this inappropriate behavior is very telling. They kept Dan because his shows were massively popular
Not to mention the parents condoning it too basically
And even worse because they could have vetoed all the porny things and the shows would still have been great. Now we have to look back at our childhoods and feel sad for what others had to go through to create some of our favorite TV memories.

IKR, and it wasn't just Dirty Dan's shows. A lot of other stuff had kinky stuff in it and perverts behinds the scenes (**cough cough** ren and stimpy and Loud house). but they did NOTHING about it! I think the Dan Schneider stuff was the biggest issue, because he was working for the channel for so long and so many kids grew up with his shows. Nickelodeon just didn't have as many rules, and Dan put his own fetishes into the shows without realizing how many 6-10 year olds would be seeing it.

Anyone ever notice one of the only parent figures in iCarly, Freddy’s mother, was absolutely crazy and almost hated? Crazy and hated because of how much of a helicopter parent she was. Dan wanted to drive wedges between parents and kids of America.
yeah i kind of notice that. like 90s and 2000s it did seem like the media was trying to make it seem like parents just kind of were constantly getting in the way of kids being kids.(if they showed up)
Absolutely this. I always thought something was off about these shows but just thought it was me but I was spot on.
This was the exact reason I wouldn't allow my daughter to watch iCarly!
Similar to some people these days on one side who love grooming and treat it like it's normal
How Dan isn’t rotting in prison is beyond me
Money and the courts rules about "evidence" I'd say they do a paternity test on spears daughter.
Because most of his crimes occured before 2001 when there were no cellphones or social media to expose him.
Anything can be excused if you have enough money.
What’s the charge?
Beats me
Dan Schneider strikes me as the type of guy who was always rejected by the girls in middle and high school and so he sought to vicariously punish them by humiliating all the women and girls he worked with.

I mean I find that in itself a bit weird tbh. Feels like forced dependency in niche areas. Which is usually an act of control and not care. “You can’t see kids that aren’t dependant on parents being around” is interesting….
As a US kid I felt they were oversexualized too. We weren't all "more advanced" our media was grooming us.
That was precisely the intention.

Women can be abusers too though. Look at Ghislane or however tf her name is spelt, Epsteins back up booty.

@@dopex89In my memory of it, the burner twitter was known, but people thought she was crazy/on drugs/making everything up.
Just like with Coreys Haim and Feldman.

It’s more than icky it’s predatory . Those adults were awful thankfully I think my generation are doing better for our kids and the kids coming up now
Because he is an abusive person to women himself, so it’s easy to dismiss because he acts like a clown.
Because he is Jewish and protected by Jewish legal team.

Drake went on to BE the predator and THIS SHOW is how he regains some public sympathy, and recovers his image a little. “He’s not an evil predator! He’s a VICTIM!” I mean, ALL sexual deviancy comes from trauma- so all predators have been victims at some point.

Everyone needs to watch this. Whether it entertains you or not is irrelevant. This is about the safety of our children.
Nah... Biology teacher!!

It honestly disturbs me how such shows that I enjoyed as a kid influenced my mindset and turned out to be just a surface cover for what was happening behind the scenes
yup that is sadly very accurate.

I prefer pbs kids as a child

YES, I was always asking about this!
How dare you!"
I mean, I never worked in Hollywood, but this conditioning even worked on me.
@@mynameisreallycool1 you make a fair point. I definitely understand the adult parents more now that I am one.
@@lynnboartsdye1943 yeah, I get your point. I would like to see something more normal and realistic. EVERY adult shouldn't be so reliant on children to come and solve their problems just so kids can feel like they have autonomy.
Poor kids.

My dad said the same thing, the parents are just as much to blame
The psychology of it is interesting. Because after watching the MJ documentary- in two parts I wondered why the parents let their kids alone with him.
The parents are either so start struck and unable to “complain” or they assume their kids will be fine because they don’t expect celebrities to be criminals.
Or they’re fulled by money, and if the kid is cut off from cash, so are they.
