Chung Chi 2013! I actually graduated from a university in USA but went to CUHK my final year. I lived at Lee Shu Pui and it was a lot of fun. Great community, super laid back. And the location to the MTR was fantastic since I spent nearly every day after classes exploring the city. I also spent time with some friends at Shaw. It seemed like that’s where all the artsy musicians went. I probably would have been a good fit there too, but Chung Chi was great. Love the video, and I’m super excited to go back to HK this fall for Mid Autumn Festival. Can’t wait to visit CUHK again!
I'm currently researching and choosing the colleges I wish to go to at CUHK, and this video is turning out to be sooo helpful for me! Thank you so much for making this!
If u don't mind, can I ask more about the transport? I'm wondering if I should care too much about the distance of the college to the campus. I'm doing business and I think that's gonna be taught in Cheng Yu Tung building (based on the website..? Not really sure) and that building is really far south. Is it a bad idea to go for the colleges up north? How annoying is transport, and how long does it take to get around the campus?
Transport is not an issue! There’s a lot of buses that go around campus- it’s a complicated system at first but you’ll quickly get used to which buses go where! Most buses will end up at lower campus anyway, so that’s not an issue. buses from upper campus to lower campus will prob take 10min, but waiting times can also be 5-10min
I think it depends on which programme you're applying to! Minimum requirements would typically be listed on each programme's entry requirements. I'm afraid I'm not too sure in general because I didn't take A levels. Sorry!!
Bias comment, all colleges are good, but i gotta defend my college: Only non-mcers would rank morningside second because it seems overrated. But ppl who do make in would know that all the hype is real. There is good reason why it is more competitive. The community, college facilities, location, are all top notch. As the most english friendly college, we have a 4-year guarantee, our own fridges, new clean facilities, an actual community, ovens in every pantry, warden who bakes for us, 3 adorable dogs, and a 10 min walk/3 min bus ride to everywhere important, what more can you ask for? Just prepare well if ur srs about getting in. Btw, communal is not compulsory. U can choose not to go, and its actually super convenient to have ready-made dinner (and lunch if u takeaway) options 3 times a week.
