@@arkyr1570 Depends how loose the pedal is. In my car if I push the pedal down all the way, I can keep it in place by shifting weight forward, which would require me to sit more forward in my seat. However, I drive leaned back, but I've noticed most women like to sit close up to the wheel. Because the weight of your leg is pushing more downwards than from the side, the pedal could maybe continue to be pressed down after initially pushing it down all the way. Now, with that being said, theoretically she could have lost consciousness and slumped down in her seat, shifting her body forwards. But seeing as how they determined she purposefully veered off the road, she was not unconscious. She is also a VERY thin girl and I highly doubt she has the weight necessary to do that.

while true, in my experience, FOIAs from individuals are often summarily denied on bs reasons because there's no penalty for it and the agency often has no benefit to give you the information. Its harder to deny a public organization or an attorney willing to go through the appeals process.

I should have clarified, I'm an attorney that used to have to appeal these denials in my old firm, mostly for our immigration-related clients (citizens or otherwise). Often when a client wouldn't come in with a denial, they wouldn't have all the information the immigration authorities definitely have. I'd like to think the responses more reflect a low staff / funding issue that create these issues, but laziness obviously plays a role.
The original idea was to have the clients do them, but denials steadily increased over the years to the point where we took them in house (and didn't directly charge for them for the obvious reason that you shouldn't need an attorney to do it for you)

Little input on the question at around 25:00: what would you do as a passenger, if the driver was driving erratically?
Your best and first choice is trying to reason with the driver to either drive safely or stop the car to let you out. Next is fastening your seat belt, removing any loose objects that could turn into projectiles during an accident, and bracing for any potential impact. Jumping out of a moving vehicle should be your last resort.
I had a friend who made the stupid decision of jumping out of a moving car because the other people inside were violently arguing. The car was going straight at about 40-45 mph at the time she jumped. The impact and consequent ragdolling along the road knocked her out immediately and left her with several broken bones including head fractures and a brain hemorrhage, serious road rash all over her face that left unsightly scarring, and permanently deaf. She was in critical condition for a short while due to the brain hemorrhage. Luckily it only cost her her hearing.
People severely underestimate the danger of jumping out of a moving vehicle. Modern cars are designed to minimize the risk of injury to both driver and passenger in case of an accident. I would argue that in probably 99% of cases you would be better off staying in the vehicle.
Also most modern cars you cant even open the door when moving fast im pretty sure, I might be wrong tho.

They have special equipment and braces to minimize damage. They also assess the damage before doing anything. Pulling someone out is only a good idea if the car is on fire or a similar life threatening situation is happening
XQC thinks the EMS will tow the car to the hospital and set up the car on a hospital bed where she can be treated inside the car. She will then heal inside the car and live there until she can walk again.

i remember a few years ago our designated driver friend to our freshers ball had actually stolen his parents car while his license was still confiscated...police tried pulling him over on our way back home, ended in a 1hr long car chase and there was 5 of us in there, and we all kept opening then closing the doors trying to jump out.
we never really could coz we couldnt actually find the "right" moments...we only jumped after he sent us flying over some guys wall and the car totaled. to this day i dont know how we survived that ramp coz it was the only thing that stopped the cops from catching us.
I think the bigger problem is that jumping out at that speed is almost guaranteed to kill you. They had a higher chance of surviving by having their seatbelt on.

Of course he’s going to mention the seatbelt and the girl partying after the incident, because it’s relevant to the case.
Those were terrible analyses though. The narrator was using hind sight to pull potential leads out of thin air. Like a zombie costume is regular Halloween attire and some people opting not to wear seatbelts is not at all atypical. You could find many examples of those happening in incidents that weren’t premeditated

What happened is a tragedy and is an example for why you should never get into a car with an intoxicated driver, especially when the driver is not in the right state of mind. I have friends who know Dominic and Mackenzie and they all said that Mackenzie was not mentally stable at all.

If the other people dont have their seatbelts, you better not have yours or else you might catch a premeditation charge if you’re the only survivor.
