My sites where way off from factory on my full size DWX. Have same safty issue. Let us know when your extractor pin starts to move up and down. Did colt do The QC on this before they went out the door.
I'll be watching the extractor pin. In the meantime, it looks like my DWX may be going back to Dan Wesson Customer Service, as the front sight is noticeably moving after just a few shots.
I've had that happen on rear sights that have set screws, but there is no set screw on the front sight. And it only happened after the gun for pretty hot.
My front sight has moved again after the loc tight, i called Dan Wesson and they told me i will have to start a warranty claim which i have. I was told i will have to send the entire gun to them On another thread a person said they told him that they fit a new slide to the gun😢
I was reading your post about the Loctite and I was about to say, you can't fix it like that. It's held in by pressure from the material of the slide. That's why you would have to send the whole thing back to be refit. It's completely ridiculous.
How’d you end up fixing the issue with the safety? Having the same issue with my full size, the right side safety is completely loose and falls out if tilted sideways
The left side of the safety is held in safe of off-safe by the plunger. Mine had the incorrect size plunger. I fixed it by putting in the correct size plunger (taken from my Dan Wesson Guardian). The right side of an ambi safety is a different issue.
The safety plunger problem appears to be a one-off. I checked the other one at Ann Arbor Arms and it works as it should. I'm hoping the self-adjusting front sight will be cured if I put taller sights on the gun to co-witness with an optic. But you're right - these things shouldn't happen with a $2,200 gun. Aa always, thanks for watching.
Great opportunity to practice gun smithing. I agree it’s a quality control issue but use calipers to measure the gun’s dovetail and then measure the sight. I wonder if Dan got sent some slightly thin front sights in their bulk inventory or if they have shotty workmanship. I wager the former.
@@RidersRange Dan Wesson also has awesome customer service. Shipping is easy and quick on non-serialized parts🍻 tip: if you want to upgrade your sights, inspect their inventory, then ask. No promises but that is how I would do it.
I had to send a Dan Wesson PointMan Carry back to them a few years ago (Part 14 of my Great Affordable 1911 Series). If I recall correctly, the turn-around time was about 2 weeks, maybe less.
A loose front sight screw? You’re making a video because of a loose front sight screw? I think Taurus sells a pink gun you can stow in your purse next to your Virginia Slims ya Nancy
Well said Rider. Pretty disappointing
Shouldn't happen on any gun, let alone one with a price tag north of $2K.
Thanks for keeping things honest. Way too much money for anything to be wrong with that gun. ☹️
Thank you for watching.
I think quality went down ever since Colt took over management
I tend to agree. Thanks for watching.

I figured out why my Dan Wesson classic commander was of the futher out i shoot. The rear sight set screw was walking out and was slightly off

THAT'S a bummer. But thanks for the info. And thanks for watching.
That was me, yep that's what happened. I sold the gun. There's no spare parts, no customer support. I am done.

I had this happen to my full size DWX. I took it to my local gun shop they removed the sight put lock tite on it ,hasn't been a problem sence
Shouldn't happen at all. However, if I put an optic on this gun, I'll have to change the front sight anyway. Thanks for watching.
Same thing happened to mine
Two much money for those issues buddy !

I agree. It only happened once the gun got pretty hot. Once it cooled down I couldn't move it. Thank you for watching.

Nope, it's a known issue and they've known about it. They're just not that smart
@@DaveandDebe What was your solution to the loose front sight post? Was it a new slide or new front sight post?
Very informative thank you!
I don't expect problems like a self-adjusting front sight and an improperly fit safety plunger on a @2,200 gun. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely great Content!

No screw. It's a pressure dovetail fit. I don't expect to have the sights move while shooting a $2,200 gun.
