No offence but that's why many Indians and South Asians have bad BO when they don't use deodorant. Unpopular fact but the truth hurts, unfortunately many choose to ignore that. However, if you've been on a bus with sweaty, stinky South Asians, you'll know it's not an illusion.
I have a tip as a non-board-certified non-dermatologist. When you get in the shower, immediately put an acne face wash with benzoyl peroxide (i.e. Clean & Clear) on your pits and let it sit there while you wash your hair and body. Rinse it off last. Then when you're out of the shower, apply a glycolic acid toner (i.e. The Ordinary) on your pits. Do this every time you take a shower and watch (or smell, I suppose) your odour go away. Consistency is key. Also helps to brighten the underarms
Love the benzoyl peroxide wash But please don't use exfoliants in your underarms so often I have seen people get burned even on using it only twice a week
Use an antiperspirant deodorant 2x and it helps the whole day. A gel one doesn't leave residue. Also wash pits with a high 10% benzoyl peroxide, if it doesn't irritate. Reduces that bacteria . Dr Dray gives those tips Sorry but we like seasoned food
Benzoyl peroxide body or face wash is amazing for pits and feets - put it on damp skin for half a minute or so. dramatically cuts on smell for me the next day
I wish she knew more about acidic deodorants. Acidic deodorants have been amazing for me. They neutralize the scent without masking it. I use an unscented one from Necessaire, but there are a number of brands out there like Lume and Kosas.
@@user-vh3gn3xq7s low pH products are acidic. Lume, Kosas, and Necessaire are three brands that come to mind. Most natural deodorant brands use baking soda, which has a high pH, making those products basic instead of acidic. I used hydrogen peroxide on a cotton wool to whiten armpits but accidentally discovered that it gets rid of body odour as well. Now i never have to use deodorant again
i do not use anti perspirant as we need these toxins to be released. sweating is one way of releasing these toxins. i use deodorant instead. what i noticed that make me NOT smell is, sweating more by running, hiking, long walks, workouts and likes
All I do is spray glycolic acid toner (3%) after shower. No smell even after I sweat. Trust me it helps alot. I tried benzoyl peroxide cleanser but it didn't work for me, so glycolic acid is life saver for me.
use benzol proxide to wash between your fold every day , moistrize after better if y use salicylic acid as leave on and your good for the day, my personal experience maby it will help someone.
Lume is an excellent product... it is a deodorant and totally cuts odor and lasts for up to approximately 72 hrs per application. Also works safely on ALL body parts: pits, cracks and crevices! No bad ingredients either!
Tried every deodorant and antiperspirant, I was prescribed Drysol and that works but can’t be used everyday. Panoxyl helps and drinking A LOT of water. Tried Botox, painful and didn’t help. I can’t give up Garlic and I’ve upped my showers to three times a day when I work from home. Hope this helps 🤷♀️
I used to be known as the stinker way back in middle school (15 years ago!). I lived in Thailand and gods how I love spices, garlic and cilantro…strong stuff! 😵 But with such bad humidity and hot af there, my armpit sweat a lot and give foul smell right after lunch break, and all my friends were disgusted at me. They gotta deal with my odor for 5 hours (we have 8am-3pm school time, but I attended extra 2 hours school to do homework with teachers until going home with paid school shuttle service). Hell how my life was miserable and depressed that I became from confident to be very insecure and never talked to those mean classmates that never tried to help and be friends with me. They thought I had poor hygiene even though I did everything to stop the odor, but my abnormal hormone was uncontrollable, judging by my level 5 period flow for 7 days. 😵
@@user-vh3gn3xq7s I guess the English word for it is Sodium bicarbonate (it’s almost the same as baking soda). I used to mix it with a little water and just put it under my arms (little annoying when it dries and crumbles) but it’s really effective against odor (you’ll still sweat though). You can also heat up a lil coconut oil and maybe lavender oil and mix it with the sodium and fill it in a little glass or something and let it cool down/get hard. (Today I use deodorant from a brand called “plants are purple”, it’s awesome (don’t know if available in your country)).
A pharmacist on RUclips recommended ditching soap cleansers for emollient washes to prevent body odor. Is this something you recommend for your patients?
Most people from different countries like Haiti they tend to have a smell because of the foods that they eat and it's really bad even if you live in hot climate and it's like most people from different countries
I'd like to know if you could put a regular chemical sunscreen on your scalp. I would also like to know about the cacao seed extract in skin care. Consumer Reports told that there is lead in the chocolate.
I dont believe that, if you dont like the smell of your partner it means not compatible, the pheromones in the armpits tell people if they are right for eachother, is chemistry, literally
I’ve never been to Australia but Panoxyl is just the brand name and the ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide. The brand Panoxyl has a face wash that has 3 or 4% and another face wash that has 10%. I’m sure there’s other brands in Australia that sell Benzoyl Peroxide face cleansers! 😃
Curry is not an ingredient. It’s a type of food that colonisers painted over with one word because it was too varied and nuanced and they couldn’t understand it. It’s also the primary type of food consumed by several global south cultures. No, it does not make us “smell bad.” That is an extremely racist and harmful stereotype that has led to the Indian diaspora kids in schools in the traditionally Caucasian cultures being bullied for decades. Wouldn’t have expected to see it propagated by a doctor.
Wow… sorry but curries do smell, and the ingredients in them DO cause body odor. You can’t deny facts because you’re wanting to fight a stereotype. Just like humans look different, sound different, do you not believe that they also smell different? Everyone has a different odor to them.
well most "Indians" smell and have a strong body odor thats very unpleasant. it's like in the hair clothes and oozing from pores. it's not racist it's fact. I even have Indian friends who joke they can smell a fellow Indian even if they don't see them.
I’m desi and all those foods you mentioned are key in our food

I adore garlic, onion, curry though and I am not letting go of them 😂 I AM wearing a deo with anti perspirants though and that gets the work done
