A strong strong message to everyone that boxing isn’t a game …. This man was arguably rocked so little you could count it on one hand and yet the fears are there .
It's like football. A lot of the damage is done in the countless practice hours from childhood to pro.
@BLACK STAG It comes with game, to quote Mayweather, referring to accumulative effect of numerous concussive blows from training and completing in boxing.
Even blocking punches in a high guard affects your brain
It's probably all the sparring he has done he has been boxing since a kid
@@dre4445 absolutely
People that say he didnt get hit much dont know that the hardest shots are usually taken in the gym during sparring - you prepare for war in there.
💯 Exactly
@@MS-jl4ic nah Castillo really knocked his brain cells
@@vincentmontgomery9770 Cool story
I now know why anthony joshua changed his fighting style after the andy ruiz fight
@@vincentmontgomery9770 Nahh them two shots form Mosley did it and maidana ain't make it no better then pacman rocked him once granted he beat them all but still lol it adds up
I wish a long healthy life to Floyd, boxing is a tough sport
I wonder how much memory loss he caused his wife. Poor kid of his has to live with that memory forever
@@19jtown I wonder what secrets you have in the closet....
@@ShammahJava are you implying that because I don’t like that Floyd beat the mother of his child in front of him that I must have done something comparable? Because I haven’t and I would never do something that despicable. Pretty gross if you to stick up for a guy like that. Says a lot about you honestly
@@19jtown were you there when it happened? Or you’re just like the rest of Floyd haters just trolling around on the internet?
@@ShammahJava Are you serious? Most people don't have demons like that. you guys must be horrible lmao
Floyd you did way better than anyone ever expected you to and accomplished more than most wanted you to. You left your legacy and mark on this great sport. Those who truly love boxing are grateful to you for that.
He knows
It’s not just the fights that accumulate the damage, it’s the sparring. The mayweather gym is famous for its “gym wars” as a boxing fan this is the part I don’t like, but at the same time it’s what makes it, and the men that do it so special. They truly not only risk their lives, but quality of life as well. Ali, Hearns, Roach, Stevenson, Tony, and so many others are, or were walking breathing testaments to this.
"Mayweather made a surprise appearance"
Nothing is surprising about seeing Mayweather at a Tank press conference
stop hatin
Boxing is one of the most dangerous sports in the world 💯 prayers to floyd 🙏🏾
It is the most dangerous sport in the world
Football is to

He’s choked up over the people that mean the most to him who suffered and are suffering.
What’s different in this interview is the emotions that Floyd would have never shown when he was younger BUT life has a way beating you up to a point that you no longer feel vulnerable when expressing emotions at the time when they should be expressed vs holding them in and it killing you.
Your absolutely right.
He’s a wimp so of course he’s crying 😂😂 not even running his whole career saved him 👽
@@akon6705 go play in the middle of the nearest intersection bum
He didnt get choked up… click bait
Was literally going to comment these same words
He got emotional
No choking. Click bait!!!!!
You could see tears in his eyes, he was emotional
Then what’s choked up?
Seen roger like that was tough. Imagine how hard it is to see Floyd’s entire family like that. At first I would criticize his style but I understand. must be terrifying
Seems like something genetic he even said grandma had it guess she was a pro boxer to huh?
@@alsounknownas167 yeah that’s true. Literally everyone in his family appears to be disoriented. Might be drugs tbh
@@alsounknownas167 not genetic. Its the diet some times . Also watch the water in ur home, keep it spring water based . Lead in the water is huge reason for dementa in black house hold and many others . Mayweather going to be ok.
@@l3tme545 don't eat meat either..
@@duckyh9712 dont be harsh wish man well
I remember that interview. Yup Boxing is no joke punches in your head will stay with you for ever. Punch that goes IN never comes back Out.
With all due respect in the context of CTE I think Floyd is the one fighter who shouldn’t be worried. There’s fights where he barely got hit clean. Regardless you box for as long as he did it’s a serious concern
its all the years of hard sparring too and the amateurs
@@marketwizard1977 Yeah its crazy they got like hundreds of amateur fights. You think Loma capping on his amateur record?
Did you not hear him mention it's genetic as well as it being common in the sport he literally alluded to having a little memory loss not only is he worried he seems to be aware of it
Lol your not educated
True. But pretty boy Floyd took punishment. He was wreck less at times.
This has nothing to do with memory loss. This has to do with unmemorable people. You run into them all the time. Someone you meet somewhere then you don’t remember the next time you see them. Happens to the best of us and I’m sure mayweather meets a ton of people daily. That happens to me all the time and I’ve never been rocked ever. Lol. You good champ.
I think he knows his own brain better than you do.
His grandmother and his Uncle Roger died from Alzheimer's. His dad has dementia. That's what he's talking about.
No, he has brain damage, he was nearly crying talking about it.
@@flowkickz4349 I saw the entire interview and he definitely wasn't nearly about to cry, at all. But all fighters suffer from some form or brain damage after an extensive career. Especially fighters like Floyd who starting boxing since he was a toddler so that goes without saying. He's talking about diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia
@@silverblackguerrilla3581 He was, you can see the shiny tears gathering around the bottom of his eye.
Damn it sounds like Floyd been told some bad news or something, hoping him and his family are doing ok 🙌🏾
Hope not
I think the bad news was that he woke up the day after retiring realizing that boxing didn't stop for him. Time goes on, new fighters come up and make a name for themselves. For a guy like Floyd who spent the past 20 years in the limelight it must be hard to see that public interest in him is waning, he's gotta stay in the headlines somehow. The instance he was using to suggest he might be suffering from memory loss seemed like he was just passively aggressively insulting that boxer who said he sparred with him.
Wising up man it’s all about him
I wonder how much memory loss he caused his wife. And that poor kid of his has to live with that memory forever
He sold his soul 2013
What u expect after 7year
I was never a fighter, and I know I will be going through this. My dad, my Grandfather on my dad's side and both my grandmothers....
I think you going through CTE rn because I cannot understand this having read it ten times over now brother
@@nigelbetty2260 I understood it perfectly
@@MB2.0 love you
Take care x
he’s saying he has a family history of dementia or Alzheimer’s
That is so real. When you have several hits to the head, head injuries from a car accident its very easy to develop memory loss, epilepsy and more.
Respect that man for the great things he has accomplished 🙏🏽 💯 he is a warrior 💪 💙
Cesar Chavez sr is fine .Many mexican fighters are doing real good. it could be in the Mayweathers family a form of disease. Chavez sr actually talks about memory loss.
1:48 that ain't memory loss floyd, a cashier won't remember all the customers that paid there unless they're regulars
*This video title is a SUPER reach*
I hope Floyd is ok. Really good dude
He seemed more frustrated then on the verge of tears.💯💯
All-time great fighter and now he's turning into all-time great human being
Very humble guy lord respect for floyd
Floyd is great fighter and an even greater man! He always inspires me love you talk Floyd!!
Life and life to this black king send so much love and health
As much crap as he gets , he’s reached the pinnacle of a sport where the object is to punch someone and he’s hardly ever been hit .
All my grandparents died of similar things and we're still suffering the consequences of it.
Don’t think he should be too worried, the dude barely got hit
its hereditary I dont think his grandmother got hit much in the ring either but she still died from it
Can you die from memory loss
Even though Mayweather barely got head, he still got hit in the head and repeatedly experienced traumatic brain injury and concussions, which is common in boxing but not normal for the vast majority of the population. When a boxer gets older, there is always going to be a risk of getting dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
The main thing we don't talk too much about is sparring. We don't take em seriously. We can't assume by seeing a boxer doing well and not getting hit in boxing ring for 36 minutes every one or two years. Sparring kills slowly, that's what the case with Muhammad Ali too.
@@terrydonnelly9655 of course. Dementia and alzheimers eventually kill you once your brain and body can bo longer keep up with the damage
We love you Floyd
True legend 👊
That's the name of the game he speaks well and is a lot better off then some fighters that never made it in the sport. And still have severe memory loss and so many other boxing related problems.
Thanks for being honest Floyd. Could you please show results of spect scan. Tyson, Ali etc have had it done, saves lives when you make it public thanks champ.
Floyd was smart to fight the way he did , not only did it allow him to achieve a legendary record of 50-0 , and over half of those victories were with other world champions, but it ultimately preserved his physical wellness for the rest of his life.
Best wishes to Mayweather. I hope his mind remains as sharp in the next 20 years as is today cause fan or not man deserves his accolades.
best 10 ever: sugar robinson/armstrong/dempsey/clay/pryor/camacho/tyson/whitaker/oscar/floyd
Well I’m glad he’s saying that it’s in the family because if anyone’s came out of boxing with a presumably healthily brain it’s this man.
Floyd is actually such a good guy he means well and you can see he is genuine. Give the guy a break he went through a lot with his previous partner who passed and his uncle passing it’s never easy losing someone we love. We are all human and he has emotion too.
The media just portrays him as a bad guy and floyd embraced that. He's a smart guy and knows how to sell himself
Prayers for u 🙏
Floyd all love
Give this man his flowers whilst hes here!
Everyone talks about his defense being one of the best and rightfully so but people underestimate his chin, he did take some big shots from Mosley, Maidana, Castillo to name a few and he never hit the canvas, dude has a solid solid chin.
Till this day
These people going to hate on you because you are Black Fighter and you're TBE... and you came out of it successful and with all your senses
He's not TBE, he lost to Castillo and Maidana.
The Mayweather's are a great boxing family but I hope the fighting stops with Floyd he has made so much money the kids can get a really good education and pursue other things
Oh I saw that, and I remember thinking Floyd looked like he forgot BUT, also he was a bit distracted when the other guy asked if Floyd remembered him
This shit hits deep.
He is. He's eyes were teary
Hope it turns out well in the long run
Keep God first floyd bless up big bro
I love 💕 u Jr with all my heart n body love always Nicole Marie Toledo
you never see floyd take shots in the ring, but what you dont see also, is all the shots he had to take in sparring to become that level
Nooo man i hope it’s just temporary if it’s true
:(
That’s why Floyd you are the greatest among Mr Ali, Sugar ray, Mike , etc.. you came through poverty, street elements, etc... and you pushed your energy into positivity
SHAKA; GREAT NFLOYD;
Love ya Floyd! Still the GOAT. really hope your well! ♥️👌🏽👏🏼👍🏽
Ridiculous how much he goes on about money can you imagine being around him day in and day out 🤯
He would motivate me u must be broke
@@katiekonst1143 exactly 🐐
yeah, it's like I get it man, you got any other dinner conversation to make lol
@@katiekonst1143 no people that have money and are used to having it don't go talking about money night and day 🤭
The thing is he made smart investments
Floyd still seems very well spoken and talks clearer than most boxing legends, he took less impact to the head, he went about it very cautiously.
Well said "Money Man"!
He remembers I almost forgot it. It was like 3-4 in the morning
Hope he remembers that Castillo and Maidana gift. 🙏 real ones know. Blessing to all.
I know maidana lost a close fight Castillo got demolished the second fight so we know who was the better fighter
@@moneygramz5887 no doubt Castillo got rocked the second fight and no doubt Mayweather the superior fighter. BUT Castillo was the better man and won their first bout.
@@firmechiva and rhats3 a fact! Hes the only man that beat floyd in my eyes. Floyd slept on him and took the loss but it all matters what happens in that 2nd fight he showed it was a fluke just over looking castillo. Same happend to andre ward he loss that kovalov first fight but the 2nd he clearly showed who was the superior fighter. I want to say the same about canelo but he lost the first ggg fight clearly and won the 2nd fight by a very slim margin. Thats why he should have given ggg a trilogy!!!
@@moneygramz5887 Definitely on the same page, I had Canelo losing the first with GGG and losing the Lara fight. GGG trilogy needs to happen 2022 while GGG still fresh enough
@@firmechiva nah its over canelo will kill ggg anytime now. I dont think he lost the lara fight though
Is Mayweather talking about Jose Zapeda?
I think so.
Lol he calls him small when Floyd's small himself
Mosley round 2. Zab cracked him good. 3. Chop chop cracked him good. 4. Cotto have him a bloody nose. 5. Pacman hit him with a clean left .... and thats about it....
Maidaina cracked him really good at the end of round 2 or 3 in their second fight.
He didn’t look choked up at all 🤷🏾♂️
It’s the years in the gym
There’s big risk that comes with boxing I hope his condition takes a long time to advance ,hope he will gets the help he needs , memory loss sucks
Juan Funez was the guy he sparred at 2am in TEN GOOSE BOXING GYM.
HOPEFULLY FLOYD IS OK. HE IS NOWHERE NEAR AS HIT AS MOST PEOPLE HIS AGE IN BOXING. HE HAS TAKEN VERY LITTLE DAMAGE IN HIS CAREER,
At the end he is still only human....age/illnesses will catch up with everyone and we all got to leave this world one way or another.
Don’t forget me Floyd. Remember me.
I simply think it was just a guy he just didn’t remember. I wouldn’t run to the drugstore to refill on the dementia pills quite yet.
I’m Filipino but Money May is the goat
Floyd I wanna come over and meet me Al Haymon
My guy right there TBE!
Geez like a fighter at his level particularly should remember who the heck he has sparred on any given moment! Imagine the sheer number of people he has sparred going back from the amateurs to the pro’s! On any given pro fight alone you may have 5 different guys in camp
I no alot of people say Shane hit him the hardest but man that shot by maidana in there rematch at the end of the 3rd was a big shot floyed Mayweather's momentum was going forward got hit with a straight right down the pipe honestly similar shot that Marquez his Pacquiao but Pacquiao jumped into that shot lmfao he was out as soon as it landed
“Chocked up” you should rephrase that
First of all zepeda said “ I don’t know if you remember when we sparred” he never said he was loosing his memory . This dude trippin
Wow some of the folks in this comment section is filled with hate smh this man expressing something as serious as memory loss and folks making jokes or using his past against him instead of respecting the message its not like he did something bad to any of you haters to hate a person you never met is just sick all because he beat your favorite fighter and you may of not thought so lol 😉 keep yeah head up Floyd hopefully it doesn't happen to you Champ 💯✊🏾
Roy Jones - Y'all must of Forgot!
Sometimes things like that are hereditary. Dementia, Alzheimer’s etc can have genetic links. The shots taken in sparring and fights over the course of decades certainly wouldn’t help either. But, my hope is that he does not endure the same condition that his grandmother, uncle, and dad went through/are going through.
I don't even remember all the people I've sparred in my life .. should I be worried now?
You just know with a lot of his family inflicted with it you just know he's terrified.
Sorry to hear about this hes so young not a huge fanatic but I do have a fun fact to share
My dad taught him some lessons when Floyd was maybe in his 20s in Ontario my dad passed b4 I reached 20 myself has another Floyd married into the family
Sometimes people do remember further back I wonder if I could reach him somehow and see if he remembers
I'm not sure if as a kid me he was rhe really fast 1 we decided was to fast witg the punches or what
Dad liked the sport for self defense and feels
Hmm that box at the end and I got this in just b4 end of video
Try 5 seconds ago not 25ytlol
Idk what people seeing in the comments. I just saw him dissing Jose maybe because he beat Vargas who use to be in Mayweather team
I hope he remembers this interview
He’s got alot of things going on in his life, he probably won’t remember
That cocaine does give you memory loss tho
He took relatively very low amout of head Trauma
I'm certainly hoping Floyd Jr. does not develop dementia but given that his uncle had it and his father is experiencing it, the odds seem to not be in his favor. I doubt Floyd would have made these comments if he didn't feel he has some symptoms with memory already. He only got seriously stunned a handful of times under the lights but he took a lot of blows to the head in fights and sparring over the years. A fighter does not need to get knocked out, it's the cumulative hard blows to the head that do the damage. Some fighters are more susceptible than others.
All the money in the world can’t help with that
So fight your memory loss you trained your body now train your mind take your game to a whole new level learn to read, private tutor start slow you get there champ
It's easy to plame anything to do with memory on boxing even if it'll was an experiment.
RADIO RAHEEM IM SERIOUSLY DEMANDING YOUR HIRED BY A MAJOR BOXING PRODUCTION NOW!!
Now I know why Logan didn’t get paid
Obviously he's been around the sport long enough, he's seen what's happened to his uncle Roger... It's on his mind and was for a number of years before he retired I think
"Choked up"??? I know where to go for click bait.

Aah, forget about it
Zepeda really made him punch drunk

Josue Vargas is the boxer Floyd is speaking about. Vargas got him ready for the Conor McGregor fight.
