Putting the Hoosier Bracket Radial and M/T Pro Bracket Radial side by side and looking at the similarities and the differences. I have ran the M/T Pro Brackets for several years and love them, but wanted to try the Hoosier tires for more limited prep/no prep tracks. Only made 3 passes on the Hoosiers so far, but I"m impressed at the moment. Tire shake is one of the things I really dislike about the M/T Pro's. The 3 passes I made with the Hoosiers, there was no shake and on the last pass they actually spun, then recovered with no shake! I'll see how they respond when I start throwing the power at it. Sidewall is a lot softer on the Hoosier and they seem to wrinkle more and absorb some shock. You can really see the sidewall difference by the way the Hoosier wrinkles are much closer together, similar to a slick.

Awesome review I’m literally on the fence of the same decision but going from a ET pro to a stiff wall slick and I saw these and thought it would be a good tire that meets in the middle can’t wait to see the next video for more results
Thank you for giving use a very inside look at what you are doing.
Great content for people who want to learn more about racing , keep up the great work!
Thanks
Yep that's the ones you want John I think you're going to be happy with those slicks! 🦅🇺🇸🦅
Very informative video John
great comparison
This is awesome information and a great video!!
Thanks
I run MT pros. 17psi. Love them. I’d love to hear your long term reviews.
yup
Can’t wait for this no prep action. Good luck.
Thanks
I know this is an old video but was wondering how u think the 28x9 pro bracket radial would do on a 10" wheel
Did you make another video on these tires? I'm getting ready to buy one or the other.
I know you guys run beadlocks, but I want to ask if you have recommendations for mounting slicks on std wheels without rims screws to prevent the tire from slowly moving on the wheel. I'm a bracket guy running about a 1.6 60'
Hey, what is the tread life of the MT PBR compared to the Hoosier BR?
I have a feeling it's going to be a while before we see the M/T back on the Fox! 🦅🇺🇸🦅
Do drag radials slip on the rim if you don’t have bead locks?
So whats been your outcome, which tyre are you going to now mate?
Best way to test run both same time, if car launches left the right tire is better. Done this many many times while tire testing in rc cars.
Hi John, need your opinion, love the channel! On a marginal track, do you suggest radial pro 315 or 29.5x10.5 PBR? I can either or. Prep is getting better up here in Canada but no radial prep whatsoever. I have used 28 PBR with great success. Wondering if 315 pro is wide enough to compensate marginal prep or just go 29.5 PBR.Thanks
I have never used either! But I would think the PBR would be better.
No prep which do you prefer?
Any running these type Hoosier on 14” wide wheel?
Brother the rims are fantastic i will love to buy some rims like that i have a dodge charger scat pack i will run in the 1/8mile with the husier s
I use the same scale in my shop to weigh nitrous bottles.
Hey John , do you remember if you did a burn out ?? Some people are saying if you do a burn out they will spin ??? Thanks sir .
Do you have a radial tires on the front? If so with that softer side wall on the rear it may cause the car to walk because it more like a slick tire
Just the regular m/t front runners
Thanks for information Master, im rookie in this, im try to fin tires for s10 3500 lbs 500 whp do you recomend 28 x 9 or 28 x 10.5 is for little prep track.
10.5 for sure if they fit!
Looking to switch over from a bias ply slick to radials . Ton of info out there but liked your video on the Hoosier radial. Do you still run them or have you put the M/T back on?
I’ve got a 85 fox body with Hoosier stiff wall slick 32-14.5W -15. Got the car with this setup, but time to buy new shoes....can you help out?
I’m now on slicks. Hoosier was ok for limited prep but I was more consistent with the mt pro bracket radial. MT was faster as well on my car
@@TurboJohnRacing so you are not using radials....just bias ply slicks? I’m not sure what to do, been out of racing many years and buddies suggested go radials but why, I ask myself. I’m really out there to bracket race, don’t care if lm the fastest or not... so I think staying on slicks then might just be better for now and save money on modifying rear suspension
@@TurboJohnRacing I appreciate your videos John. You are a good man taking time to respond. You helped out my good friends’ brother out at the track some time ago...saw the video. Mario’s brother is John Viola, that crazy Pro charged Comet with the stick... God Bless you
Hopefully get to meet you one day. If I knew how to send a pic of my car, I would but I don’t know how on here
sidewall are tuff cause there made for turning slicks just plan grip an rip
You might want to try going down in pressure too, I run 6 1/2 psi in mine!
These smaller tires cannot go that low. I’m debating going down to 12 this weekend
You’re never supposed to run below 12-14 psi in ANY of the radial designed tires! Even a bias slick should stay between 8-12 psi for a 28X10.5/275/60 or smaller👌🏼 6.5 psi would make for a dancing fool 😳
I wonder if the HOOSIER allows the same "squat" with more overall pressure ? I know HOOSIER is used in racing where MT is more non pro weekend racers....
hey john always enjoy you videos . I run a 28X10.5 no mini tub stock suspension class I use a 10inch wide weld wheel 61/2 inch back space with a MT 28 10.5 and its close LOL was wondering if the Hoosier Bracket radial was the about the same size width as the MT 28 10.5 Thanks
You should be good, mine is non mini tubbed, but I had to really hammer the inner fender wells
@@TurboJohnRacing me too lol thanks some friends of mine are saying 28 10.5 radials is a 1/2 inch fatter than my 28 10.5 slick
Mine fit, but it’s very close. I have had slicks on it a few years ago.
How many runs do you think M/T bracket tires will take on average ?
All season, they last forever
Looks like a slick disguised as a drag radial... or maybe a stiff wall slick
Hey John are them weld rims .
Billet specialties
Who did your beadlocks on your centerlines
MacFab did them. These are billet specialties.
Still like the Hoosier better? Currently have them on my low 11 second vehicle cutting low 1.5 60'? What's better with a well prepped track?
I have not had the hoosier bracket radial again but may grab some this year
@@TurboJohnRacing look forward to seeing it. Good luck! In the prime DA right now for my NA truck, I save the summers from abuse.
what size is those rims, thanks john
15x10’s with 6.5” backspacing
i run the MT pro bracket radial @ 17.5 to 18 psi and never had any tire shake. my 60' times are between 1.23 to 1.28. i wonder if you are not running enough tire pressure with the MT pro bracket radial? I've heard if you run to low of air pressure it can cause tire shake. My car only runs 5.25 @ 136 mph 1/8 making 1100 to the tires. i know you are making alot more power than me. Also a mustang.
I have tried higher pressure, they kick the tires easier on the limited prepped tracks. But no shake! Just cannot get down the track as consistent
What is the back space on your wheel
6.5
You'll need a lil more air pressure in that Hoosier.. 17 to 18 pounds
Best tire for a 2800# 500hp coyote swap fox with a fp tko 600?
I have not ran a clutch car in a long time, I don’t know what would be best in that situation.
Why do you not like slicks?
Who did the beadlock conversion for you????
Please forward the contact information OK BUD👍👍
MacFab here in NC. They do great work!
Fayetteville track?
We race Fayetteville all the time, love the track!
Hallo both tires are radials but with the hoosier u going to have only 120antisquat but with M/t 170? why?
Sidewall is much softer on the Hoosier, 170 would crush the tire too much!
@@TurboJohnRacing ok i have ordered drag bracket radials 29,5/10,5r15 for my chevelle 3700 lbs BBC 598 n/a 953hp 808lbft pg 4,10 trz arm arb Afco d/a front and rear ,i hope they will work good
Do date codes matter to you?
I look at them, but as long as they are kept in decent storage I have not seen issues. So the codes don’t matter a ton to me. I may be missing this part though, hmmm
@@TurboJohnRacing Right on. Thanks John. Good luck at NP race.
Hey John. Have you come to a verdict on which tire is better?
Also, which is more forgiving?
Thanks!
I have not, but the hoosier worked great early true no prep. I cannot get it to work on sticky tracks
Thank you
If you ever sell those wheels please hit me up
The thing about the slicks is if you do get tire shake just drive right though it and it will stop you can't do that on the MT they want stop they will just get worse until your damn teeth fall out! Who ever you talking to and he told you about the slicks he's a good man that's not a bullshitter I would keep his number in my phone if I was you especially if you're going after no prep this year! 🦅🇺🇸🦅
Why compare a new tire to old one not acceptable especially when you are comparing the weight
Teen eeench reem
Part of the reason those tires are acting like they are is that the car needs a little anti squat. I dont see any . When there is no anti squat or the car isnt hitting the rear suspension hard enough the tire will wad up at the front of the tire . You push that tire down into the racing surface a bit more and that will change.
The calculator shows 170 percent on the M/T’s, and 120 something on the Hoosiers
M&H TTF!!!!
Is this tire better than a M/T ET Drag stiff wall?
It seems to be a little better for me, but I don't like super soft sidewalls.
Turbo John has tour 60ft got better by going to these Hoosier?
