    We stayed at the Tropical early March and loved it! Are the swim outs at the Riviera “swimmable” to the main pool? If not, do you know if any resorts in the area do? Thanks!

    • @AllinclusiveGal
      @AllinclusiveGal  3 года назад

      No, unfortunately they are not. It's a rare thing for swim-outs to be directly connected to main pools these days, the only resorts I know of where this occurs are El Dorado Casitas Royale, El Dorado Seaside Suites (Oceanfront Pool Swimup Suites room category), and Generations Riviera Maya (Oceanfront Two/Three Bedroom Pool Swimup Suite room categories). Did you have fun at the Tropical when you went?

    What is the difference between staying at premium level or standard? Is it only the room or do you have access to exclusive areas, buffets or restaurants?
    Thank you

      Premium upgrade offers some perks like better room location, private check-in/out and use of private lounge which offers food alternatives and upgraded liquor, unlimited a la carte reservations, free WiFi for one device per room, access to spa hydrotherapy circuit. You can always upgrade to Premium level once at the resort and not get the upgraded room location--Standard room plus amenity benefits which I believe is around $25 per adult per day. The room I was in was a Jr. Suite, suites include additional upgrades such as access to the Palace.

    Great video. Going there for my funeral/honeymoon this Oct. Are you able to visit and eat at the other Barceló properties nearby?

    • @AllinclusiveGal
      @AllinclusiveGal  4 года назад +1

      funeral, lol??? Yes, you can visit any of the resorts at the entire complex as long as they are open--it is possible that only the Palace and the Maya Riviera will be open this Oct. since there has been talk the others won't be opening at all for the remainder of 2020 (it depends on the number of bookings). I don't know if the resort shuttle will be operating either, but you can go back and forth by taking the beachfront walkway. It's a nice 25 min. leisurely walk.

    Just wanted to say thanks for the in depth room videos for Barcelo. I've only stayed at Barcelo once, and was in a "Superior" room in Tropical. In your opinion, is it worth it to upgrade to a swim up suite? And also, in your opinion, is a swim up in Riviera worth the price compared to a swim up in Caribe? I'm visiting your website now and can't wait to finish reading your comments on this resort. Love how detailed your reviews are, they are a huge help! One more question if I may, is there any specific website or travel agent you use for booking your trips to Mexico? I just go between Cheapcaribbean and FunJet currently, but didn't know if there's any other options you'd recommend for bigger discounts, etc.
    Thanks for the great videos and the detailed reviews on your page, and thanks in advance for any recommendations you might have.

    • @AllinclusiveGal

      Thanks so much for your kind words! If you are interested at all in visiting the new adults-only section you must book that one, that is the only way you get access to it. If you book the swim-up at the Caribe section, you get access to the Palace as well, that was a huge plus since we loved the food and the pools there. Also, booking the swim-up at the Caribe was a fantastic location since you don't have to go great distances either way to access other parts of the resort. If you don't like humid rooms, stay at the Palace or the Maya Riviera, my daughter's phone stopped working because it was too humid in the room! As far as booking, I always check out pricing from different sources. Cheap Caribbean can also be good, some people swear by Costco Travel (I've never used them, though), I've had a few problems with Booking.com, and my travel agent hasn't been able to beat low prices I've found on wholesalers, but that may be my travel agent....My personal experience over the years has been booking directly with a resort will give you better options and better room locations overall. If prices are comparable, book directly with a resort when possible. With Covid, lots of people have had better experiences booking with a travel agent since they have the headaches of switching dates, etc. Have a wonderful trip whatever you decide!

      @@AllinclusiveGal Excellent advice, and great info on the rooms! My last trip was in Nov, and my friend's phone wasn't working properly because of the humidity, you're absolutely right! I had no idea a Swim up in Caribe allows Palace usage, that's excellent to know! Never thought of Costco travel, but I have the Executive membership and will be checking into that pronto. Thanks for all of your advice, this just helped me out tremendously! I hope you're also able to book another trip soon, and have an awesome getaway! 🤞 Thanks again and stay safe! :)

    I didn't see a blog post for this resort on your site. Do you think this hotel is worth the extra money compared to the room with the swim-up pool at the Barcelo Maya Caribe?

    • @AllinclusiveGal

      Krystine, I think I replied to your message you left on my blog...Yes, I would definitely recommend this resort--it is brand new and allows guests access to the entire resort including the Palace. Hello, as part of the "all inclusive" benefits, does the room / hotel offer 24 hour room service? In room meals, drinks, snacks, etc.? Thanks very much!

    • @AllinclusiveGal
      @AllinclusiveGal  4 года назад

      This Barcelo resort doesn't offer free room service unless you upgrade. You can order but you have to pay extra. In-room drinks are the same as most resorts, a mini-bar with sodas, juices, and beers--those are complimentary. In our Premium room we got a bottle of sparkling wine and tasty desserts when we first got there. Also, you have to pay for WiFi unless you upgrade or join mybarcelo, it's free to join and you add more perks the more you stay at a Barcelo resort.

    Hi there, I'm a travel agent and I have a group of 7 going to stay at this hotel. They are wanting the premium level jr suite swim up. However, it will be his wife's 40th birthday and he wanted a 'nicer' room for the two of them. However, they want to all be near each other as well. In your video my friend is convinced that at time mark 5:07 to the right....it seems like it might be a bigger room? Would you agree with that? I thought it might have just been the angle. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

    • @AllinclusiveGal

      there are indeed other Premium Level suites in the Premium building. Although I never saw the interior of them, there should be either regular suite swim-ups (I had a Jr. Suite), and/or Governor Suites Swim-ups. The Premium building is the one on the very end closer to the beach.

      @@rooseveltrobinson2686 I liked the food better at the Palace so I would check and see if you can get reservations at either the Brasserie or Rodizio a la cartes. If not, try the french restaurant at the AO, La Comedie. If you have trouble making a la carte reservations anywhere, check out Palace dinner buffets. I loved them both. As far as the test is concerned, I would contact the resort in advance to try and schedule your COVID testing appointment since you have such a short stay. There are lots of other guests who have already booked their testing appointment prior to you since most people stay a week. Hope this works out for you!
