- Virginia City Montana, and Nevada City Montana, might be the greatest Ghost Towns in America. With Wild West history, outlaws, vigilantes, and Old West gold-rush boomtown mining buildings galore, complete with original artifacts everywhere thanks to an eccentric General Mills heir (Charles Bovey) these ghost towns, collectively, are unlike anywhere we've ever been before! Come along on the journey to the Old West, and step back in time to 1863 and the Rush for Montana's gold!

I just was on a trip to Virginia city Montana because most of my family’s history was there so this blew my mind when he made this video
I always enjoy when you visit these mining and pioneering towns.
Brother, lost my Bride of 31 years in February. Sold everything, going on the road and your Adventures are such an inspiration ! Thank you and all the best to you and The Warrior Princess! I use her story in my work, no names just her Courage. Thank you again
Hi Justin you are so good looking at the OLD WEST with a little humour. I been to Viginia City many times , and was hoping you would go to Nevada City. Great there. If you like history. Now 1 more you missed in the area. The real BANNACK MONTANA, IS THERE. You have to see that town home of Vigilante Henry Plummer, sheriff by day robber at night. His jail still there. Bannack 1st territorial Capitol of Montana. A state park just as it was In The past. No one lives there. I did 2 paintings of Bannack..Hope you go there....bye Douglas....
What an amazing collection of historic buildings! Both of these towns are definitely on my bucket list now. Thanks for taking us along on your journeys!
Thank you Justin for filming these old western/ghost towns. I don't travel or have the funds to do so, so I visit them vicariously through you. And I love Montana.
Your ancestors didn’t have money when they walked into a forest to chop down some trees to make a wagon.
Then they hitched up that wagon and burned the old house down to collect the nails for the new house.
Then once they got there.
They lived in the wagon until they had the new cabin ready for habitation.
@@samueljackson6188 And what might your point be?
Videos like this are why I love this channel! History, enthusiasm, beautiful videography!
Just lost my wife Monday, but your words, made me feel just like you! Thank you, Charlie
Congratulations 🎉 Believe many men's wish to be in your shoes
Montana is such a beautiful city.
This is my first video I've seen from you. I love how excited you sound! You explain everything in a way that makes me want to appreciate the history more. I work here and it makes me want to visit lol
As a side note: many of the buildings in NC are nice enough to stay in and people do! On every weekend of the summer living history volunteers populate the town, bringing it to life. They wear 1865 clothing, work in the blacksmith shop, spin wool, cook meals, sell snake oil, play games, and the saloon indeed does sell sarsaparilla!
I'm going to Garnet, Bannack, Virginia City, and Nevada City in two weeks. I had no idea there was so much in Nevada City. Thanks for the video!
THE RUSH FOR GOLD!
These types of places look like an absolute dream. I have a list of ghost towns in Montana and the Dakotas and Utah to visit before I pass. Thanks for showing these off.
We just got home from our road trip to Colorado and Yellowstone yesterday. If I had know about these I would’ve extended our trip!! I’m obsessed with Virginia City NV so I can only imagine how great this would be.🧡😁
Wow! This is extraordinary Justin! What a historic place. Definitely have to get yourself& Alie back here. She would love this i bet
So glad that you made it out here! Welcome to Montana

Okay, I now have a new must-see road trip for [hopefully] next summer. Fantastic video!
Amazing to see you so excited about this place. Wish you would plan longer trips.
Been to these ghost towns multiple times and loved them every time! Even stayed in the hotel on the Main Street and truly believe it’s haunted
Hello from 1/2 a world away of Sunny Singapore. Thank you for sharing! Amazing journey. Keep it up!
Thanks, Justin. This is a great historical presentation.
the best video I've ever seen, thank you!
It is beautiful out there and the old towns were cool to see. Thanks for the laugh as well. 😊
Justin
Here are a couple of ideas for you.
Way up in North East corner of Montana
Scobey.
When fort peck Dam flooded the area where town used to be. They moved it and made a museum out of old town.
This was great. I loved everything in the vlog.
Another great video love the old western towns
Enjoyed my visit there years ago. Thanks for sharing
On the weekends in the summer they have people dressed up and “living” in the Nevada City museum. It’s best with them there.
What an awesome place. I would love to visit there and learn all its history!
I live vicariously through your adventures. Thank you Justin, for another fun one. I know Ally is home with this trip. Is Julio 🐓 your traveling companion this time around?
Am adding that to my bucket list!
Thank you very much for this!
Great editing!
I would like to meet you in SC! If you come around, let me know! It would be awesome to meet you!!!

This is awesome… I need to visit here
Good video keep it up ❤
The vaudeville show in Virginia City is legit, or at least it was. I was properly embarrassed by buxom actress and her boa when I was a young teen... Good times!
Great video
like to come here and get all nerdy about it... haaaa so funny but a great video as always. 😎
Awesome town! I highly recommend the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT! Largest T-Rex found there! TONS of Dinos! 🦖
When I think of Montana, I can't help but think of Kevin Costner's show, Yellowstone. Lol Which was actually filmed on site, in Montana!
❤Awesome!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
that is a very cool town my friend
I love that area of Montana!
You should go to the Henry Ford Greenfield Village in Michigan!
I agree with you these two Montana Ghost Towns are tops bar none. I would stay at the hotel or cabin in Nevada City, MT.
The ceiling in the general store is stunning. Is it metal? Jack Slade? Sorry but I picture Cactus Jack Slade from Kirk Douglas' movie "The Villain".
amazing place
What a fun one
Thank You
So cool
Hi Justin how's the trip going .
IT'S A GHOST TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justin mentioned 2 types of Ghost Towns, what does Calico, CA fit into? #1 or #2 or is it another kind: the Ghost Town created by an amusement industry professional for “historical accuracy”? Or what about Madrid, NM… just outside of Santa Fe. It’s a living ghost town, which I guess is kinda a cross between Bodhi and Tombstone. The old buildings remain. Some of the original businesses still operate out of their original buildings; such as the Saloon and the Engine House.
Awesome
There are ghost towns in North Dakota too.
Nice
GHOST TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm reading about the trial of George Ives.
GHOSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same like burma some regions and City's 👍
Wow
There's gold in them thar hills!
I kept waiting for you to run into Sad Eye Joe's jail house, but it's not Knott's
oo
❤
We all knew Alaska would be one of them lol.
It’s a shame such a beautiful steam locomotive is replaced a toy.
So there’s Virginia City, Nevada; Nevada City, Montana; and Virginia City, Montana, but is there a Montana City, Virginia???
🤷 "promosm"
Dude, take a breath. We’re watching your video and it drives us crazy. You’re just nonstop talking and so fast take a breath. Enjoyed the video, but it’s wearing me out.
Not a ghost town
