I have been recently been doing challenge runs for Tw3, and so far using only secondary weapons is the hardest, a secondary weapon against a monster can deal as low of 1 damage. Great run mate, love to see other people doing this type of stuff.

Hey, this reminds me when I did the death march new game plus starting at level 100 run. The scaling of bear and troll in fistfights on skellige was very similar. 1 hit from them and I’m dead, 100s hits or more from to get them. Especially the troll. I got around it with this one decoction that would deal 5% damage of their total health so I needed only 20 hits but I don’t know whether that’s still possible after the next gen update. The troll almost ended my desire to play until I discovered the decoction.

first thing i though was, not gonna happen. death march is just way to hard without gear. but then i realized NOT doing all the side quest and getting losts of xp, NOT having mobs always at your level, its actually possible. think i died 10 times to the rats in the suers with tris, with upscaling its just totally bugged, given how i was very high level at that point xD GJ! i would not have the patience =) even tho i got like nearly 700hours in witcher 3 alone xD

one of the difficulties with doing witcher 3 challenges is that its hard to come up with an idea for a challenge that is difficult/interesting which kind of is a good thing with the game letting you play in nearly any way you want to.

DLCs are not possible with only fists sadly, either due to DPS checks or fights requiring signs or other resources. idk, why ban the use of potions if you're just going to rely on gourmet anyway? to me, all gourmet does (he said, as if it wasn't a game-changer) is turn normal food items into weak healing potions. so why not just skip gourmet and instead, limit yourself to, say, a single swallow per battle or hell, make it like 5 or 10 or something for the entire run so you have to be conservative but also not afraid to use it when you need to. to me, that would make for a much more exciting and engaging playthrough. just my thoughts and opinions, obviously! it's your channel and I fully respect your right to do whatever the hell you want with it
thats completely fair criticism and i agree with it. originally when doing this run i banned potions because of archgriffin decoction dealing % health damage which i felt went against the spirit of the run, in hindsight if i went back i would have just banned myself from using that decoction to keep things simple (same with banning signs in this same playthrough aside from igni for obvious reasons) restricting armour equally made next to no sense also. Its one thing ive learned from this video is to just keep the challenge restrictions simple, cuts out the whole terms of service esc word salad at the start too and can skip straight into the content. i appreciate the feedback, it helps me know what to improve/change in future vids.

I hadn't even considered the archgriffin decoction, that's a good point, but yeah, you could either ban just that one, or keep decoctions banned, just stick to swallow and cat and the basics. agree with your assessment about the beginning of the run as well. get right into it, if you want to pause during a point at the beginning where not much is going on to explain an extra rule or two, I don't think that would bother anyone, and don't feel like you shouldn't do things that would be more entertaining just because it might be hard to explain. I'm not a youtuber, but my degree is in production and I do video work for my day job, always trying to help others in the industry improve, that's how we move forward together as a whole. Looking forward to the next run!

I must say, I am very surprised you only died 77 times...I died 67 times in Dark Souls 3...on the Wall of Lotheric (basically the first part of the game)
I made an attempt to do the game with crossbow only on the hardest difficulty. Finished it all, and have it recorded too and edited copying ymfah's style. But I could only do one of the ciris sections "crossbow" only. If anyone has any ideas to get past the wolves in the first ciri bit or kill/run from the crones I would greatly appreciate it. Those are the only bits I could not figure out how to do without using swords
unfortunately both DLCs would be impossible with only fists. some enemies in blood and wine have regen so unless im missing out on some way to get around them without fighting i dont think it can be done. heart of stone has a mandatory boss fight that is a DPS check which using just fists cant match.
@@Exodyr It would be possible in theory but it would be breaking the rules that you've set when it comes to no alchemy. If you used the Archgriffin decoction which does 5% of the max health of every enemy, which also happens to work with Strong attacks when using fists. For the DPS check in HOS I assume you mean the caretaker and for that I have no clue if the 5% from the decoction would be sufficient even with dodge cancelling to reset the animation from the strong attacks. Great vid btw you have way more patience and humour than I could ever muster.
