  • BC Alberta relations are suffering under the strain of the pandemic, and all it takes is a license plate to see it. Visitors can get unfriendly looks or even worse, just because of their plates.

      @@monicavaniderstine8768 I graduated from Kamloops High and ended up in Alberta.
      We used to go to the Kootenay's every summer and stay in Silverton. Sadly, we have no desire to be victimized by ignorant BC'ers. We will never be back.

    I was born and raised in B.C. and own property in Kelowna. I have the rest of my immediate family in Kelowna and on Vancouver Island.I live in Alberta now, but come to B.C. frequently and of course I have Alberta plates.. I am 65 years old, not one to party. My husband and I are respectful of all COVID concerns and are careful to wash, sanitize, wear a mask when necessary. I don’t see us as any type of threat. I take offence to someone telling me to go home, I have probably lived more years in B.C. than the person suggesting I “go home”.

      We don't want you in British Columbia. You have the potential to spread Covid-19 and even if you have family or own property you don't need to be here. Coming to British Columbia right now is irresponsible and what happens to your car as a result of that is more than fair game.

    What's wrong if Albertans come to visit? Someone from Alberta may or may not have the Corona virus just like your next door neighbor in Kelowna could or could not have it. Unless you can prove that people in Alberta are WAYYYY more likely to carry it then I don't see the issue. Please show me the facts that demonstrate that once you cross into another piece of land (past the BC/Alberta border) that that marker/border is the thing that makes you more likely to have Corona virus.

      I moved to Alberta from BC and I completely agree with you. The amount of hate people in BC have towards anyone with a red plate is disgusting. I have personally witnessed it myself while living there. I actually dread going back to BC for any reason now. I have never witnessed more arrogance in my life. I'm so glad I can now call Alberta my home.

    What about the British Columbian's who come to Alberta? We have two national parks here and I am almost certain that British Columbians are flocking to those like Canada geese. We are also forgetting that a majority of us have family who live in BC

    It's still happening We did a couple BC hikes just outside Alberta with out of province plates kept checking the logs after each hike forgot to do it on a couple hikes before we left lost a tire on the highway so after checking multiple times Got comfortable thought it was a myth didn't check and they got us Nothing will be done until one of us dies

    Certainly no one should be doing unnecessary travel at this time but these are just plates, people may have good reasons to be in BC yet still have Alberta plates and vice versa. Focus your xenophobia against the American plates but even there some have valid reasons to be here, just fewer of them have valid reasons.

    • @notsocleverley
      @notsocleverley 3 года назад

      @@KJaswal The people who came from the US used the Alaska loophole to get into the country and then went sight seeing in banff and jasper. If they met with hostility they had it coming! Some of them were actually caught by law enforcement and fined. An albertan in BC or vice versa may have a very legitimate reason for being there! So maybe these BC idiots shouldn't take the law into their own hands and rather alert law enforcement if they think someone is breaking the rules!

      @@KJaswal i was born in invermere BC and raised in Radium Hot Springs. The next time I'm heading out that way I'll be coming trans Canada through Banff then taking highway 93 west to Radium. You can meet me at the provincial boundary between banff and kootenay national parks! I'll step out of my car on the alberta side and you can step out of your car on the BC side. At that point you can tell me I can't come in! We'll see how that goes for you!! I strongly suggest you don't show up!!
