Love the energy of that start line worker
picked up a 04 rx8 last weekend.
flew to seattle from arizona and drove it back 1500 miles.
already has coilovers , wheels , brand new tires and brakes.
full leather , nav , with sunroof. exact spec i was looking for.
man these drive AMAZINGLY ! soooo planted and confidence inspiring ! the amount of balance these chassis have is enticing !
granite , i havent pushed it too hard yet. but i got enough feedback from that 1500 mile trip back to let me know there is a great platform to start from !
for sure! i think they can strike an awesome balance between daily practicality and comfort and speed and reward at the track. welcome to the club!
The music at the end 🤌
glad at least one poor soul out there enjoys my tastes! 😄
Nice runs as always! And a reminder i need to go practice my left foot braking 🙃
Thanks. i think it helps me most of the time, but in a few runs i think i was using the pedals TOO much to turn the car. throwback to my rallycross days. i may need to calm it down a hair in places and just use steering and tire scrub for speed control like the people with infinite tire budgets do.
@@rx8matt we just got a new site that's pretty tight (relative to what I've run the past few seasons) on top of having a slick concrete pad in the center. I never had to think about helping the car to rotate before (...or not shifting out of second for that matter 🤣) now its a Different story.

@@BushidoDriver ah, the Monaco of autocross! Many of our venues are smaller so I feel your pain
It was very clear that the start line workers energy helped everyone in heat 3 drive just a tad faster...am I right?
heat 1 was for sure nerfed by the water and dirty track. heat 3 was really hot and the finish line area started to disintegrate. i honestly think heat 2 had it best, the top finishing STX car went 0.5 seconds faster in heat 2 than heat 3 even with the extra seat time.
I see you also kept the loop really tight. I think I should have went deeper to make it a single apex turn
Low power momentum car I guess. I dunno man, I think I had the course read wrong in a few places. Oh well
Very nice runs, not really sure how an FRS did a 42.0 and the Miata a 41.5. I rode with Sean who did 43.6 and it felt like close to a perfect run and he was pinned during the really fast twisty bits. The course was tricky to read and I definitely read a lot of it wrong. What video editor do you use?
I was in the pits and could hear that start line worker constantly screaming, too much enthusiasm for my taste. 200 runs in a heat = 200 screams 😳 He must have been on speed.
I pondered that same question. 4.5 degrees of negative camber, low ride height, and A052s certainly played a role. also the FRS appears to have an acceleration edge on my tired RX-8. That said, cody entered the double-right 90 turn better than me, in an almost motorcycle-like line. and i overslowed a bit in the last right before finish. i am pretty happy with my 43.1 but there's always room for improvement.
i use VideoPad for the final compilation. racerender and dashware for data and general splitscreens.
what is the supposed benefit of holding the e-brake at the start if you’re not on an incline?
not obvious in video, but it was slightly downhill and i was rolling towards the start beam. maybe that wouldn't have been a bad thing!
