- ✨The BEST home hacks of 2023!✨
👇🏻Here are our TOP rated hacks from this year!👇🏻
1. Twist your seasoning bottle by the cap or bottle itself to get DOUBLE the amount of seasoning WITHOUT shaking it! 🧂
2. When you need a smaller back in a pinch and don’t have time to get more at the store, heat up a knife 🔪, and cut a Ziplock bag in half. You will effectively seal the sides and create TWO bags, out of one! 👝
3. Cabinets that don’t reach the ceiling ?🤔 I HATE dusting them. So line them with newspaper, paper towel, parment paper or anything else… when it dusts, instead of pushing the dirt into the air, you can roll them up and toss them out! 🗑️ Replace instantly!
4. Hate the sound shoes make when you toss them in the dryer? 👟 Instead, hang the laces from the door and they will no longer tumble and bump around, so you can have a quite dryer again! 🤐
5. HATE cleaning your blinds? 🪟 Apply static guard to your blinds and let it dry. This will effectively repeal dust and debris and allow you to have to CLEAN them less often!!! ⏰
6. Have dull silverware? Take a ball of aluminum foil and toss it into your silverware holder in the dishwasher. 🍴Run your dishwasher as normal and your silverware and cutlery will come out SHINNY, NEW and fresh!! ✨

FYI CABINET TOPS I have microfiber hand towels and washcloths up there. Now I simply gather them, wash them, dry them, then put them back about 3x a year. Changed my world lol
That's a fantastic idea! Using microfiber hand towels and washcloths for your cabinet tops sounds like a game-changer. It's great to hear that it has made such a positive difference for you!
Umm so u wash them in January, July and December? I have better idea. Buy plastic handle that usually goes with fluffy cloth and remove that fluffy cloth, replace with microfiber, spray with chemical or natural liquid (vinegar+any essential oil) and thats it🙂or take some plastic handle if u already have similar.
Shammy is best@@home_reimagined
I prefer to use paper that I can throw away
Girl the ziplock one is about to change the world nice
You'll dull your knife quick.
I'm doing it with an old knife 🔪 ☝️
Also, knife sharpeners
There's literally baggies at the Dollar Tree the size of what she cut them.👁👄👁
It won’t work.
I thought I did pretty good cleaning til I realized that I've never even considered cleaning the top of my cabinets 🥴😅
“Are you sick of constantly dusting them?” 🧐🤔 Made me laugh.
@@Lisa-yp9eo😂😂😂😂😂 same
I came here for this comment 😅
@@Lisa-yp9eo right 😂
I bet your cabinet tops are full of grease till now. 😢They are hectic to clean. Put plastic covers on them.
Using an old sock as a dusting glove will cut down on the time it takes to clean blinds. Get it wet & wring out so it's just slightly damp to prevent dust flying around & clean splatters off easier. Pinch each slat between your fingers to do both sides at once without having to go back & forth.
Yep, that's also a great way to tackle those dusty blinds! Using an old sock as a dusting glove is such a clever hack. It really does make the job quicker and more efficient. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Tammy, I came to comments to ask for blind cleaning tips. Granted the sock puppet duster is a classic for many awkward to dust areas, but my blinds are pretty bad so I think I’m going to need to take them down, lay them in bath tub, run shower on hot, not sure what product works best to spray them down with if stubborn nicotine stains persist.🥴 It’s just a lot, especially with my back, ugh! 😑 Also I’m about to move so I might just skip it all together 😉 I will start clean in my new house 🥳🙏🏼✝️ & never use this type blind in mine. 👍🏼 😃
@TedaR Nicotine stains are a whole 'nother story😬 I quit 20yrs ago, so I haven't had to deal with them lately... but I think baking soda & vinegar with a squirt of dish soap added might make a good soak? Good luck 🤞🤠🤞
@@tammyrawdon3587
Years ago, we bought a used panel van from an old man who smoked cigars. The entire inside of the van was BROWN with nicotine stains! I had to scrub the whole thing down with 409. I used up ROLLS of paper towels. It was disgusting how quickly they turned dark brown. I just wanted to let you know that 409 will do the trick on nicotine. It totally looked like a different van when I finished!
@ediejohnson3301 🤠👍That's nice to know, I'll pass it on to the smokers that I know. Even when I smoked, I rarely did so inside, so it was never a problem for me & I didn't know that.
Closing the shoelaces in the dryer door will damage the door seal. Either set them out to dry or use a boot dryer that you plug-in to electricity
Use the sun
I let mine air dry too
@@rcfnc Stuffing them with newspaper makes them dry even faster.
I usually air dry, but I have been on my way to the gym and needed them lol!!
Using sunlight will kill any lingering bacteria - you can also do this with sweaty, but otherwise, "clean" trainers/running shoes etc. Just open up the shoe really wide to allow sunlight in as much of the shoe as possible - dried shoes and no bacteria 😊
Putting crumpled newspaper in your shoes will cut down on air-drying time. Some dryers won't work without weight, it may damage the seal, or even catch fire... so be careful with that one.
Using old hand-towels or cutting up old clothes to wash & reuse, or reusing newspaper on the cabinet tops is more environmentally friendly than paper towels/ parchment/ waxed paper. But the idea is great! I have dust allergies & they're made of unfinished wood, which makes them very hard to clean. I'd planned to line them with contact paper but it doesn't stick well to it.
we use newspaper to dry shoes too, when I air dry! GREAT TIP!! ❤️ I also wrote on the video that you can use newspaper on the top shelf or other items
Try painting the top of the cabinet with glossy paint. It should have a similar effect as contact paper when cleaning.
@christinaheagy4602 That's a great idea! I just can't believe that I didn't think of it 🙄🤦♀️
Getting up there to dust & keeping the dust from flying around would still be a problem, but it'd be easier to get the dust up, at least... bc it sticks to the rough surface more.
Line top cabinet with parchment paper (wax paper) Better for grease residue. You’re welcome.
you’re
I did that at home when I was maybe 12 years old. Nearly 62 years ago. 😂😂😂
But reusing newspaper is less wasteful 🤷♀️
@@tammyrawdon3587 In an ideal world perhaps but not everyone has newspapers in today’s world.
@LaJuana558 Did you mean "NOT everyone"? I hadn't thought of that bc I even see free local ones everywhere (included on regular newspaper stands, at the library, etc).
Well then, using old hand-towels or cutting up old clothes is even better bc you can wash & reuse them.
Wow. That ziplock hack seems genius. I’m going to have to try that.
Absolutely! Give it a go, and I hope it makes your life a little easier. Let me know how it works out for you! 😊
Maybe use a knife you don’t really like? I’m pretty sure the flame is enough to soften the metal so that when you go to use it while it’s still hot, it’ll dull your knife :((
It technically does work, but only like 10% of the time. You'll waste more bags than you normally would've used if you simply used the Ziploc. Also, you can't use that expensive knife for anything else.
@@jacenjustice I buy snack bags at the dollar tree. You can get them vertical like shown here or short.
Love the spice hack
Glad you love it! Spice hacks can make a big difference. Anything else you found interesting or have to share? 😊
@@home_reimaginedHad to let you know that you just blew my mind with the twisting of the spice bottle. TY. TY. TY. 🤯
Love the tips! What’s up with these negative comments, though? If you don’t like the hack, you can always… disregard 😌
Yeah, that's too easy.. everyone thinks they know better.
Aww wish you had a silverware de-dulling tip for people without a dishwasher, but this is great! Omg the mini bags 🤯 genius
I use an oxy clean powder. Dissolve it in hot water and soak your silverware for about 30 minute's .
If you have access to it, barkeepers friend is really good, amazing on pots and pans too
Put a loose ball of aluminum foil in your dishwater with your silverware every day. The silverware will shine up nicely over time. Or soak your silverware with aluminum foil, making sure all the pieces touch each other or the foil. Easy peasy.
Your health is better off without aluminum on your utensils.
@@ancientwisdom108 what's wrong with aluminum?
IF you own a dehumidifier, place shoes in front of that. It will also dry shoes, but I know not everyone needs one in their home.
Great idea!!!!!!
Bag seal one DOES NOT work. Did it twice. Messed up 2 good bags lol 😂.
Really?!? Mine worked :(
I was gasping for the breath of life for the first few hacks 😂❤
I put plastic covers on cabinet tops and wipe clean or wash them to reuse.
yes good idea!
The shoes in the dryer! 😱😱😱
The dryer won't run bcz it needs weight
Good way to start a fire and ruin your dryer
The way I gasped when she cut the bag 😂
How does the aluminum foil work?
This is incredible. Best I have ever seen
The shoes in the dryer hack….. it aways opens my dryer
I appreciate your feedback! If the shoes in the dryer hack isn't working well for you, here's an alternative option for drying shoes: amzn.to/48M57Lg. It might be a more suitable solution for keeping your dryer door closed. 😊
maybe hang them out in the sun?
dont do it. Damages the seal & warranty (if have one) wont cover it
What’s the first hack with the toilet brush?
It allows it to dry.
@@Blue4uNowicka oh! Was wondering! Thanks!

Thank you so much!!! I am so glad you enjoyed them!! ❤️
I wash my shoes all of the time and always air dry them.
You can also put them in front of a fan overnight for faster drying. Same with any clothes.
The paper towels on top of the cabinets... YES.
AND, you can do the same for the top of the fridge, except, I put plastic bags to catch the neverending (!) dust.
Where is all of this dust coming from?! 😂
Love it! Washing shoes and air-drying - classic move. The fan hack for quick drying, totally on the same page. And the paper towels and plastic bags? Genius dust defense! ❤️❤️
On my fridge and the top of my bookcases I use towels . Throw them in the washer .
Minute (small) particles we can't see; fabrics, skin, dust from outside. At times, when a room is a little dark, and you see a stream of light, you can see dust moving around in the air. When cleaning, dusting, use a damp cloth or vacuum. This will reduce spreading the dust around. 🤧
Your filters need changing more often.
That is a good question because why and where is for sure the question of the day
Static guard..nice.
yes!!
I'm cleaning the blinds with this hack .Thanks

Thanks a bunch! Glad you liked it! ❤️❤️
OK I'm a slob, but "tired of CONSTANTLY having to dust the top of my kitchen cabinets?" That's not something at the top of my mind.
And that hack for the tops of the cabinets wastes papertowels. It takes five seconds to use a reusable duster. Do people not realize our trash doesn't "magically" disappear?? There is only so much space on our planet.
I lol’d 😅😅
Totally get it! Cleaning priorities vary for everyone. If you ever want some quick and easy hacks, they're here when you're ready. No pressure! 😊
@@tiggerTS1972 you can also use old newspaper

Instead of paper towels use shelf liners or dollar tree table mats. You can easily take them off to rinse them
Absolutely, that would work great too! Thanks for the tip! 😊
Awesome 👍👍
Thanks.
You're welcome! ️❤️
my jaw was open the whole time hehe!! thank you! new happy follower
I'm someone who keeps my home clean and clutter free. It's my haven. Yet, when I had cabinets that didn't reach the ceiling, I never once had the desire to clean the top of them.
I also didn't take up the fitted carpet in the game room to clean the floor underneath.
I'm not seeing much difference between the two in terms of nuttiness 😂😂
Well, not to a normal person. But when you have dust allergies then removing that dust helps a lot as a huge amount of the dust in the house is displaced rather than brought from outside. The less dust on top of cupboards then the less dust somewhere else later.
Whenever my shoes were wet i just leave them over a floor vent lmao being canadian my shoes are constantly wet in the winter
Haha, that's a pretty clever trick. Thanks for sharing your tip.
That's what I do.
These are all great!
Thanks a bunch! Glad you found them helpful! ❤

The only thing I noticed doesn't work is hanging the sneakers like that in the dryer. The dryer was too strong and just pulled my shoes into the dryer since the shoelaces are so thin anyway. Lol
Oh wow!!!!! I have not had that issue but that is good to note! Try a sneaker deryer bag instead amzn.to/48M57Lg
How about using a measuring spoons
For what?
Your a genius
NEVER put sneakers in a dryer unless you want to ruin them.
Air-drying your shoes is a great alternative! It's gentler on them and can still get the job done.😊
A couple of those were handy
Yay!!!!!!
Nice
I wonder what the aluminum trick would do for real sterling silver? I think I will try it the next time I run the dishwasher and just put one sterling silver spoon in and see what happens. I love eating off my sterling silver but I sure hate polishing it
That's an interesting idea! Just be cautious, it's always best to test it out with one spoon to see how it reacts, some materials should not be dish washed so ensure you check your manufacturer instructions. Let me know how it goes if you decide to give it a try!
The tissue paper hack❤
Wow!
️❤️️❤️
OMG I so love about washing machine making noises. Mine is like an earthquake 😅
Haha, I can relate! Sometimes it feels like washing machine is try to breakdance, right?😆

Do NOT ever dry shoes
Yes, it's crucial to avoid drying shoes in the dryer! But just in case someone finds this hack helpful or needs it, here it is. 😊
@@home_reimaginedwha. .
Hmm. My dryer comes with an option to turn of the rotation and a rack to slot inside.
My Skecher shoes, not sneakers, are machine washable.
So, I'm just guessing that shoes can be washed in a washing machine and dried in a drier.
So, I'd say the OP is wrong.
@@rabbit3212010 I miss my dryer that had that rack!
@@rabbit3212010 the bigger issue is the heat, so you'd still need to make sure you're using the tumble dry option, or limit the time you heat-dry

Do what with the lid? I couldn't make out what she said.
The plastic bag, hot knife hack was on all over YT last year.
What is the chemical reaction that causes the flatware to be more shiny after being washed with aluminium foil?
Great question! The shiny effect happens because the aluminum foil helps remove tarnish from silverware. It’s a bit of a chemical reaction where the aluminum interacts with the tarnish, making the flatware look all sparkly! 😄✨
👍❤️❤️
Glad you like them!️❤️
Just use old newspaper on top of your cupboards. Cheaper than kitchen roll.
Absolutely! Using old newspaper on top of cupboards is a fantastic cost-effective alternative. Thanks for sharing!

Heating your knife over a flame and then immediately using it has gotta be one of the fastest ways to dull your blade 😢

see those little bumps under the spice shakers? you can use another shaker to grind on it and itll make the spices easier to sprinkle down
Yeah if you spin it it's likely to end up all out.
Grind with another shaker on the little bumps?
@BhavyaJha007 yes rub the bottom of one face up on the other face down(that's adding the spice). It's too much for me but it works. Honestly if someone is that impatient or needs it to be easier due health issues, you can add more holes.
