lmao You just made my day with that quote...as a native Ohioan and someone who first had my young Marvel mind blown when seeing that the first time it aired when I was a six year old kid, I'll always remember that she was on her way to Columbus when her tire blew out! BTW, I still consider TIH pilot to be one of the best super hero films ever made to this day...and it can be considered a film because it was released theatrically overseas!
Always nice to see Hulk 1-6...when I was collecting in 1970s and 1980s I saw most of other Marvel books but didn't see these and I had multiple copies of No. 1s of other titles.. Sad story when I co-owned a store in late 1980s my partner got a Hulk #1 in VF/NM shape but instead of putting in our display cabinet he put on display board..somebody walked into shop and pulled down on his own, opened bag and tape drug across cover! Tore hunk out of front cover ....aagh! He got two Amazing Fantasy 15s in similar shape at time but didn't put out for display....all bought for few hundred dollars in 1980s...
I was listening to this video while driving to work and when you said 6.0 I pulled over and backed up the video, cause I didn’t believe you, I had to watch you reveal it, I didn’t believe my ears 😆
Holy hell Gary , I am not too sure I could Handel those books , you’re a better man than me . Great video as usual . Thanks for all the work we don’t see
Mate just ABSOLULY luved that Not just the cost of grading but I WANT TO READ IT. Loving Wot U do and hope you all R safe N sound. Greeting az always from Uk.
About three years ago someone in the comic book community in my area found a Hulk number one at a flea market, and I know he paid flea market prices, crazy
Very solid grade for Hulk 1, and seemingly no chipping. Marvel grails have definitely seen a nice rise. Hulk 1 has easily been the one to go up the least with X-Men 1 and DD1 rising the most in the last couple months. Definitely an awesome book to own though! Although it's by far been the most stagnant the last 5-7 years. It's nice to finally see it going up though, Hulk 1 doesn't get the market respect it deserves considering it's rarity, and especially in mid to high grade.
What a beautiful Holy Grail. I was fortunate to hold a Hulk 1 (4.0) at a show a few years ago. I think he wanted 15k for it. I should’ve bought it on an installment plan 😂
Love all your vids Very Gary. Two questions: 1. What's driving Hulk specifically? 2. Do you think people are buying as an investment hoping to make a profit in a few years or are they buying to own such a great piece of history with no intention to sell?
Almost $1000 to get that 1 book graded is ridiculous! CGC shouldn't be charging a % of the FMV. They should be charging a fee for the services they provide, grading, encapsulation, etc. They are scamming you out of money and they did nothing to earn it.
True regret story...when I was a very young new collector I bought Hulk 1 from the Comic Buyers Guide for $6.00...I returned it because it was in @ 1.5-2.0 condition. OMFG!
Hopefully you have some other great keys ... I passed on a .5 copy of AF 15 for $800 bucks about 16 years ago. Really wish I could have like borrowed the money from anyone to buy it back then.
Are you still going to do that video where you resubmit books to CGC that didn’t make the 9.8 prescreen to see if you have better luck on a second submission? I thought that was a really fun idea, for what it’s worth.
Did you try or look into any techniques to remove the greesepen markings? If those were gone or near gone I wonder if it would have gotten a full 1 grade or a .5 grade bump WOW!! Still a pure stunner of a book so amazing so wow holy crap!
I don't believe the grease pen marks affect the grade on those older books since that was a very common thing back then I don't think CGC counts against it.
Expensive. Can imagine a new stand alone MCU Hulk movie pretty sure that book will be at a all time high on price especially for that particular graded book at 6.0.
Did you ever make a video discussing the switch from GPA to COVRPRICE? I'm guessing it may have been in the latest auction video, but ain't nobody got time for 6+hours... :)
I don't really remember when I discussed it. I like the interface. I like the pictures. I like that they show raw values too. I like the price. I like that they use 5 different sources to gather the sales data.
Hi Gary and all my fellow comic fans. I have a question about a book I just saw on Pawn Stars. A lady brought in a copy of Werewolf By Night 32 in CGC 9.8. The expert appraised it at $50000.00! Have I lost it or is that way too high? Even with the buzz about Moon Knight, that just seems too high!
Hulk 1 has to be one of the rarest silver age grails, to have it in that grade is insane!
I’ve seen books like this behind glass. To be able to hold one and open one up from CGC is just unimaginable. So cool
Wow, just wow. Amazing to see in that grade nearly 60 years old. You’ll top that with one of your own soon. Excelsior!
Wow Gary, what an awesome book to open!! That must have been a thrill for you!!!
Wow... A SIX and it looks really clean. Someone's very lucky to get that in their PC. Thanks for sharing!
6.0!! Wow…one of the most-difficult Silver Age books to find. 1:57 - "I was…liftin' up the CAR!" Hulk Episode 1, thank you Bill Bixby. :-)
lmao You just made my day with that quote...as a native Ohioan and someone who first had my young Marvel mind blown when seeing that the first time it aired when I was a six year old kid, I'll always remember that she was on her way to Columbus when her tire blew out! Gary WOW! That was great! Such rare and beautiful book! Excelsior!
That's INCREDIBLE! Amazing! Great Hulk video!
I don't think i will even ever get to hold one. Great stuff gary.
Its a monster indeed ! :D Nice unboxing right there... exciting to open :D Greetings from Scotland :)
Wow..I agree, that hulk #1 looks amazing...that black just pops
Even to have it in your hands is fenominal! Holy crap! What a piece!
That's a jaw dropping grade on that hulk, so so awesome
My ultimate comic grail. Hulk 1 is my biggest want in comics.
This is my grail. I'm so happy that you got such a beautiful book!
Wow! I read the grade wrong when you pulled it out and exclaimed when you revealed the true grade in a good way! Freaking amazing

Wow!! The colors are awesome, and the price tag is mind blowing.
You smashed it with 6.0 Grade. If the grease pencil marks were not on the cover, what do you think the grade would change to? I was thinking a 7.0
What a insane grade! Super cool!!! I can’t wait to secure my Hulk #1!!
Great shirt Gary , as for the books that is just crazy that a book can cost so much money.
I was listening to this video while driving to work and when you said 6.0 I pulled over and backed up the video, cause I didn’t believe you, I had to watch you reveal it, I didn’t believe my ears 😆
You should of opened the door and popped out a piece of poo.
Beautiful book, indeed! Thank you for sharing with the community!
My heart started racing just looking at that cover.
Wow. In a 6 no less! So cool to see stuff like this.
Man your friend is so lucky to have no matter the grade that is a holy comic book and to hold one and even look at it breathe taking
Holy hell Gary , I am not too sure I could Handel those books , you’re a better man than me . Great video as usual . Thanks for all the work we don’t see
Wow. That's a beautiful book. Thanks, Gary!
Very nice
I have long given up in acquiring blue chip keys so now I live vicariously through youtubers lol
That book could be in the Smithsonian! The color the fact that it is complete and hardly has any blemishes! WOW!
Wow! Moster book is the perfect description! Looking forward to hearing about your move away from GPA.
Just to hold a legendary piece of comic history!
Truly “incredible”,
Awesomeness Brother. Thanks for sharing 😄 👍❤💚💚💚🇺🇸🇨🇦🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉💯
Very informative channel you have Gary..More power!!

New Jersey area???
Yes, was that you?
No but I remember seeing some videos about it.
Wow! That is amazing that's a nice holy grail book great book to have in a personal collection
Absolutely incredible! Great video my brother!!!!!
Those books are just insane. Must have been amazing just being able to see that #1 so close in person.

Where do you sell/ buy these? I literally have 1 and 2 plus about 200 other old comics not graded. Thanks
Expect a visit from Indiana Jones with that holy grail being in your house.
Thank you very much for sharing this experience with us!
Haven’t been lucky enough to hold one myself but hoping to . Great vid
Thats crazy awesome! Well done Ray!
Wow, awesome cgc unboxing and great grade!!!
What a beautiful Holy Grail. I was fortunate to hold a Hulk 1 (4.0) at a show a few years ago. I think he wanted 15k for it. I should’ve bought it on an installment plan 😂
Holy grail is an understatement. 6.0 too? Awesome unboxing.
In 2013 this book was only $8k as well! Congrats on the INCREDIBLE book
What a beautiful Book! A grail book I hope to own someday. Thanks Gary.
Great video. I can't wait to see the others!
Love all your vids Very Gary. Two questions: 1. What's driving Hulk specifically? 2. Do you think people are buying as an investment hoping to make a profit in a few years or are they buying to own such a great piece of history with no intention to sell?
amazing book, congrats to the new owner!
Frickin awesome Gary. I almost s#t when you unvailed the grade.
Amazing book. Would love that in my collection.
This is a monster of a book!! Just to be able to hold would be awesome. Congrats to the owner on the grade.

Beautiful book even with the grease pen marks. How much did those detract from the grade? It probably would have been two grades higher without those.

IH #1 in 6.0 is an incredible book. It's a great book in any grade! But man, that's a pretty pretty copy.
Absolutely fabulous book! I could stare at it all day
That is one incredible book! Stay safe my friend and walk with goodness.

@@donaldglass2421 I highly doubt that.

I’ll keep dreaming about owning every single Hulk comic.
Congrats, Ray. Add to your retirement portfolio!
Not everyday a Hulk 1 drops by!! Great grade and so crazy expensive
Absolutely Amazing!!!
Hulk #1 is the most expensive comic I ever bought. It's up 47% from when bought it in 2016.
At least you had it in your hands for awhile!
Gary this video gave me the chills!!!
That's crazy! Nice book!
That is awesome. I have a hulk 102 and tales to astonish 101. That’s as close as I ever will come to a hulk 1
That Zelda shirt is classic!
Wooooow it presented very well but I didn't think cgc would grade it that high
Awesome book!! Great grade!!
Amazing beautiful book
One lucky guy to have such a great collection.
Expensive. Can imagine a new stand alone MCU Hulk movie pretty sure that book will be at a all time high on price especially for that particular graded book at 6.0.
