X-Force #8 for $1 is an amazing deal, especially for one in such a good condition.
Nice to see you still have your old Marvel cards, too. I think the first series in 1991 were the best aesthetically. They had that old baseball card look to them.

I grab those Midnight Sons whenever l see them. I never can time it right to find issue 31. The hunt will continue which is my favorite thing about this hobby. Good picks Mike!

The comics that have some value have NO BOARDS, while the 99c books all have boards, WTH?
Love those 2 Ghost Rider books, just bought 28 for $5 as well.
Also just bought my 1st slab Batman 6(1st Court of Owls) from a store that had 40% off eveything under $100.
I thought the same thing, why do the $1 books have boards? My guess is that all their modern books (most of the $1 books) were always boarded and everything older must have been acquired or stored unbagged for years.

I agree about those Silver Age Superboy covers, they capture the whimsy and fun of that era; same with the imaginary stories in Superman. The Bronze Age Guardians Of The Galaxy were a great team, constantly fighting the reptilian Badoon to liberate our solar system in the future (or a possible future) - I much prefer them to the movie version.
Love your channel. I'm an old man, 57, and have always been a comic fan. Love everything to do with them. Sold my 8000 book collection @7 years ago and it was 90% Marvel Silver and Bronze age books. I sought after all 1st appearances that I could afford. It didn't matter if they were A, B or Z characters. I have decided to start collecting again a couple of years ago, but now it's only collected editions, omnibus, epics, galleries and trades. What I miss is the hunt. I am living vicariously through you and your videos. I live in the Northwest corner of CT, so I am familiar with some of the shops and flea markets you've gone to.
I love your enthusiasm and passion. It reminds me of my younger days.

Love digging thru the dollar bins. Got all those books except for the defenders picked up a whole case of unopened xmen 2099 cards from 91 at a little resale shop for 20 bucks. Cards are a little after my time I was a 70/80s kid got married in 91 so stopped collecting and raised kids been back at it hard for the last 3 years hoping to turn it into a business at some point.
Good books if you got lunch money this week! Cant beat a dollar price tag for domino’s first appearance!
Love the trading card idea - genius! Being the same age the cards brought back a whole lot of nostalgia - damn I wish I hadn’t sold them in the early 2000’s I had the full set and even had the holograms! 🤦🏻♂️

This is in my top 2 shops that I’ve ever been to. I make trip up there about 2-3 times a year to blow some good money.
I started collecting comics in the mid 80s and jumped off when the comic book crash happened in the mid 90s. To this day, I regret that. I have an unopened numbered box of the Marvel Masterpiece cards. Every so often, I debate opening it or not. I already have a boat load of trading cards in boxes that are commons. Not sure I want to add to that pile in hopes of finding a rare Marvel card.
I’d definitely keep it sealed, can’t be many of them left!
just wanted to say i love your videos i just joined the comic world i was gifted a shit load of comics from my grandfather when i was a kid my family kept them away so i didn't ruin them and 22 years later i got access to them i instantly fell in love i have a lot of keys also from doing research and looking forward to growing i think he gave me 400 comics as i counted and sorted them out

90's fan here! I also discovered my first Marvel characters through the those same trading cards sets. Ghost Rider, Weapon Omega, Sleepwalker, and many more! I need that first appearance of the Midnight Sons! I've got it in a TPB, but not the book itself. Love that you actually took your lunch break, lunch money, and visited the shop. I've watched a few collectors who will intentionally leave stores early only to come back at a later date to find new treasures! Great stuff, Mike!

Nice pickups mike I havent been to that shop in a while they have a great selection my friend were the ghost rider 28 and 31 I always pick that run of 6 up whenever I see it for 5$ or less

I noticed you are from the New England area. If you have time I would suggest stopping by Wicked Comic con on April 22-23rd, It's in Boston and very heavily focused comic show with great artist from the industry!

The product turnover is real good with that place. I know they have a very large backstock that isn't even on the sales floor. Most of those are purchases from people who sell off their collections. They do buy collections from private parties so that's my guess as to why some are boarded and others aren't. I still kick myself over some of the top shelf books I missed out on over there through the years (Incredible Hulk 180 for $100, Wolverine 1-4 Miniseries for $50, Venom Lethal Protector 1-6 all newsstand issues for $30) they were all before the boom 2 years ago but legit only 8 months to a year before it :-( ... those Dollar bins have been pretty sweet though and I've pulled some minor keys out of them. Go Back and Spend hours there lolol!!!

Anytime you can find good condition books for a dollar or less. It’s a good pick up.

Such a great store, I go to the Fitchburg store more oftern as it is closer to where I live, but it's not as big as the main store in Worcester. I need to go back to the Worcester store again soon. It''s great cause I'm a comic, video game, and POP collector so it's a triple whammy for me going there.
I would of grabbed every x force in that dollar bin.

I loved the 90s card sets too! The '93 Skybox set that Slayback card is from is the best. Today's cards suck and are way way way too expensive. They are killing this hobby making it way too expensive in my honest opinion.
Love those cards. to bad you can't find any over here, or really expensive. Guardians are my favorite from thier appearance in the avengers ( with george Perez art). The issues were they are together with the Defenders are really nice. iirc this is the first female badoon too? (or in the next issue).

Clz lists #11 as the first appearance. Key collector lists #8 . Get both, they're cheap. Lol

Haha, great question. Mostly because I’ve looked through those X-books every other time I went to this store, and I just wanted to mix it up!

I have not. Honestly it’s something I’ve never considered until you just mentioned it!
Why is nothing boarded?
I honestly don’t know. They seem to be older bags and I guess they just never got around to upgrading.
Fitchburg location does not have a lot of comics Worcester is better for comics
All of those DD Frank Miller comics looked very badly bent.
