Wow! I appreciate your commenting here! I didn't know a lot about how the "Solid Rock" package came about but in piecing together the story for the description, I learned quite a bit - and I get the reason for this package. I also now understand why Jodie went with the Studio C group - to get a much more contemporary feel. The vocals definitely line up with the Rock Opera sounds that were in vogue in the early seventies. Elsewhere, I have the "demo" where a few jingles are done by both Studio A and C singers; I would have gone with "C" as well...but ONLY for this particular package.
@@Tomovox_PAMS_Radio_JIngles PAMS had four basic vocal styles... The HiLos, Kirby Stone Four, McGuire Sisters and The Four Freshmen. So... you had all of the packages through Series 40 emulating a variant of these sounds. Mike McCormick, WLS Program Director, didn't want his jingles in 1971 sounding like "The Moon Maids." (note: Tinker and Mary Jo of "The Moon Maids" were part of the PAMS vocal group). Hence... The Studio "C" sound was created to be more contemporary for WLS.
A great package from Pams. Thanks Dyo aussialand
You're welcome my friend!
Not one of my favorite PAMS packages... Sung by the "Studio C" singers... written primarily by Jodie Lyons, I believe.
