Cant blame him for this endless pain. In his mind he was doing his job but in the actions of his duty he caused millions of deaths that now are on his hands...im suprised he didnt commit suicide from the guilt you can see he is showing
Not to mention the way that nuclear politics totally and completely shifted the foreign relations paradigm with the superpowers of the world. On such a catastrophically large level, the world is a different place now that these truly biblical weapons of death are commonplace in international relations. It’s hard to put into words the things this man must have felt.
It wasn’t just him. It was him, Einstein and a large group of people working on the Manhattan project. In his defense he also warned them multiple times, this is why politicians shouldn’t stick their nose in places they can’t smell. As always political figures will just use this as a one up to beat the opposing country, especially since the arms race was coming. It’s not his fault, he did his job which was to create a weapon in a desperate time for the United States where many soldiers were slaughtered by the sick animals in imperial Japan, we were simply out for blood and boy or boy we got it.
Once the pandora box was open, all the bad spirits stormed out, but only one was left inside. That was Hope. It's up to the reader to decide whether it's good to be hopeful or not. This says it all.
Oppenheimer was a brilliant man, hired as Director of the Manhattan Project. This project was created because of the advances German military was making during WW2. FDR and American military had genuine fear that Germany may create the bomb. History changed when FDR passed on, and Truman took over the Presidency. Truman had no prior knowledge of the Manhattan Project. We ended up beating Germany but were still at war with Japan. Truman instructed that Oppenheimer continue with the Manhattan Project. When the bomb was successfully created, Military was instructed to use the bomb in Japan. Oppenheimer lived the remainder of his life regretting Military's decision to use the bomb. I believe this was Truman's decision.
The problem is trying to get a group of guys on a soccer field to pay attention to say hey are we gonna play another game, let alone get your local city council to understand you don't want condo's built in your neighbourhood is a major challenge and they dont listen. So my point is......try and get enough people in the world organized together that would oppose this....sadly....good luck.
However, it is probably a great thing that America got the bomb first. Can you imagine if the Nazis, or the Communists, or Imperial Japan got it first? Oppenheimer and America getting the bomb first is the probably the best possible outcome, given that science was at a place where the bomb was going to be discovered soon, anyways.
Make a bunch of men and women think they are Supermen and Superwomen, deserving of more than just simply the everyday joy of getting to live in the wonderful countries of North America and you can make fools out of the wisest and dead out of the living. Take a moment to look around, life goes fast, you might miss it.
it was like giving a 10 year old an AK47 and teaching him how to use it most effectively--a bad tempered 10 year old at that, with a very poor record for good behavior. In fact, it was a million times worse than that.
lmao "the owners of the United States threatened his family" be careful you don't cut yourself on that edge. Oppenheimer was a scientist. Of course he wanted to create the bomb--or rather, to be ABLE to create the bomb. He just didn't want it to be used. And the hindu quote isn't some hint at a conspiracy to compel him to do research (you know, like the soviets did), he's saying that all people present there, whether they reacted to the bomb with joy, with fear, or with awed silence, understood the gravity of what had been accomplished, that from that day forward human history would never be the same, that for the first time, a single person could eradicate all life with the press of a button. Just look at his expression as he delivers the quote. That is not the expression of a broken man who was forced to do something against his will. That is the face of a man who freely, willingly, created a power the likes of which the world had never seen, who bears on his conscience the potential deaths of billions. That is the face of a man who knows how terrible it is to have the power meant only for gods.
He was merely stating that his whole team of co-workers had come to the conclusion that they had created something terrible that would indeed be used to kill many, many people.
The weapons will not be unleashed unless god himself allows it. God is real and unfortunately Satin is real but our father in heaven will not allow his children to perish at the hands of the wicked. Robert did what he thought was right at the time and felt he had been deceived any thinking human on this planet can watch this video and feel it in his expression. I pray for the man and hope he found peace with God.
Well world war 2 alone caused the death of 50 million. Millions of people every year are raped, murdered or brutally assaulted. You really think God is looking after you. If he is, he doing a very poor job of it
The planet is fine, it's not going anywhere. WE ARE!
Pfft, talk to me in 5 billion years

poor man, god gave him the knowledge and the wise, sadly few people make use of his knowledge and close eyes to the wise he have

Bhagavath Gita is inspiration to world.
I’m 60, and I haven’t died by nuclear weapons. I never thought I’d make it to this age.
The day the allied forces became the very monster they hate never humiliate a mad scientist with nothing to lose.
If he did not invent it, someone else would have done it. So he should not blame himself.
Inevitability does not absolve one from one's own karma & actions.

Nobody know dude
I dont like the soviets, but i think that if they got it first they would probably bomb the axis powers, so italy, germany or maybe even japan
@@datavalisofficial8730 Italy swapped sides by 1943. They had surrounded Berlin so they'd probably dropped it on Japan IF it was invented in 1945.

We've laid waste to the Earth for men's weapons of war ever since Sumeria...war war war war
Some day..hopefully not for a extremely long time from now..but someday there will be a weapon that will make a nuclear bomb look like a firecracker.
Hopefully that will never happen.
The first atomic bomb is nothing compared to what can be done today.
That’s right.
The planet is now slowing it's on a retrograde depleting orbit otherwise it'd be speeding up and harder to land back on it
Haunting...
