What about men? Do men like studio apartments especially now that you have Graham. Girls like guys with nice apartments or would they want to decorate them or maybe hang out at her place.
I appreciate that you didn't cut the hard bits with covering the countertop or cutting the back splash! So many people pretend things are super easy which isn't amazingly helpful to those of us who are renting and trying to install things on our own.
You got guts,Girl. Thank you for showing how it is,not how it fits into a cute story.we learn so much this way. Having done several houses myself, I often had to learn by my constant mistakes. Your team is invaluable. And thanks for being open about your anxiety and having gone thru it earlier think this service could be great for people. Stay warm and well, all
@@effie5238Same! I thought the landlord would be happy with all the makeovers! New cabinet fronts, a kick plate, surrounding the washing machine, the countertop - OOO-LA-LA!!
Wow! That filler thing around the washing machine made such a difference! Impressed of your level of attention to details and every time it gets better and better!
You really nailed the kitchen! Making the counter area look cohesive was nothing short of a miracle. She is one lucky girl to have her entire place AG’d!!! It is so beautiful.

I also appreciated seeing the challenge in that countertop, it's so important to know that it's not all fun even with an Awesome team! And I absolutely LOVE the colours ♥
Hey Alex! Thank you so much for your incredible trust in our product, Click'n Tile! 🌟 We're beyond thrilled and proud to see the amazing things you're creating. We can't wait to be part of your next project-imagine all the possibilities with the vibrant colors we offer! 🎨 Let’s make your next experience even more spectacular! 💫
Next time you use vinyl on a waterproof surface just use a spray bottle with water and a few drops of dishsoap and spray the sticky side of the vinyl wet. Then it doesn't stick and can slide in its place. Then use the spatula to press out the water om all sides, start in the middle and wipe towards the outside. Saves a lot of trouble!
It depends on the vinyl, with our vinyl in this video it can only be applied dry as we have a grid on our adhesive that lets air travel underneath as you squeegee it down for a bubble free finish. If you apply it wet the water will get trapped in the grid and it wont stick.
That color selection gave so much warmth to the space. I love when interior design actually makes a house (or any living space) actually look like a home: cozy, warm and inviting. Great job Team AG!
I wonder what the landlords think about all the improvements made to the various studio spaces, especially to this space with the unfinished kitchen area and badly done countertop above the washing machine. Graham is definitely MVP. Great job everyone!
how easy will it be to get access to the washer? my washer is having some issues and i'm going to need a repairman to come out. i'm fortunate that mine is located in a laundry room and not stuffed under a counter like this one. i'm guessing that one can just be pulled out if they need to access it?
@@KillerQueensRyche I wondered about that when they nailed in the filler. It might have been better to let the pressure keep the filler piece in so it can be taken out easily if there's a leak or a repair to the washer is needed.
The kitchen turned out amazing! I really, really love that round wood table in that space! This is a basement studio apartment that she will never want to leave!
I have tried multiple times to cover kitchen countertops with vinyl. I always hate the result and the process. question: when you use it around a sink (as Alexandra did), does it start coming up around the edges eventually? I would be terrified to get too splashy (like when I wash dishes) if I had the vinyl edging around my sink.
@ my sink is old school…real old school 1955 ish. The sink had a stainless steel rim around it. Unfortunately the cook top did not. Had to go to Home Depot and ask not one but three snickering “gentlemen” where I could find black caulk. Had to just get clear silicone.
@@TamarLitvot I’ve had my bathroom counter covered going in the third year. I caulked the seam between the sink edge and vinyl and so far no lifting. I used a higher end vinyl product and was pleased.
I really like the kitchen makeover, that if I knew that I was moving into this studio, I’d ask the landlord to keep the bookcase, the countertop the shelving in the kitchen and the backsplash. Alexandra and her team did amazing! I hope the landlord won’t make the tenet remove all the hard work that was put into this when she moved out.
In the early 80’s I covered the countertop in my apartment kitchen with regular contact paper! The countertop had been painted MANY times and was seriously gross. Younger me was pretty resourceful on a college-kid budget. It looked great and functioned well. Your makeover made me remember those low-dollar high-hope times!
This is one of the best makeovers i've seen on your channel in a while! All your hard work paid off (don't let the demons keep you down) - this is so beautiful, and has inspired me with some ideas for my own kitchen. Keep at it Team AG!
Studio apartment becomes 1 bedroom with dining room and den. Really! I don't know how you do it but when you go into a studio space, you and the team always seem to be able to make it bigger!
This is an absolutely gorgeous makeover! You really encourage people to make themselves a space that's beautiful! The tiles and vinyl countertop, hardware, just everything you've added is beautiful. It amazes me how you keep your brand style and create such different spaces that everyone will love. Great job!!

Such a great result and it flows beautifully throughout her apartment. Those click-on tiles are really neat and the cabinet hardware is gorgeous. I am so impressed by how you powered through with that challenging counter project. Huge kudos!!!!
Renter friendly... I am trying to imagine what landlord wouldn't appreciate a FREE BEAUTIFUL makeover in their space?! 'No, you have to make it ugly again before you go.' Looks fabulous on camera, and I hope it does up close as well for a long time to come :)
I imagine that they have to keep the space neutral. What if a person with very different style preferences moves in next? They might not want pinkish/greenish girly tones in their kitchen for example
It doesn’t hurt to ask the landlord! But Everyone has different tastes - I personally wouldn’t want any pink walls or the plastic wood over real countertops in my rental.
We painted the cabinets and hardware and all of the walls in my son’s apartment. It made such an improvement even with the dark grey and blue colors he picked. The landlord let him keep that way upon moving out because it was such an upgrade from the drab yellow walls and 60’s brown cabinets.
This studio fix was AMAZING. One of my favorites EVER by team AG. The only thing I would have added is a non-see through divider between the fridge and living room area. That way, you wouldn’t be able to see the fridge through the shelves. Maybe it could be “fixed” by adding a back piece to the divider. Otherwise, this makeover is OUTSTANDING. Great job, you guys! 🎉
Wow! What an improvement! The only thing I would have done differently, would be to move the fridge forward and create a cupboard behind to store mops, vacuum, etc.
For anyone in the future wanting to do this to your counter tops, take a measurement of your countertop and create a template for the peel and stick and cut it out. It makes this process so much easier. Also starting on the lip and working your way to the free edge always seemed to help me.
Oh I'm so curious to know how the vinyl will fair in the long run. Hope you will have some update on that. The kitchen looks so warm and inviting and very cohesive with the rest of the studio! really beautiful. Bravo team AG, well done!

I mean my washing machine in my laundry is in a pretty tight spot. Most are. You just shuffle it out. It's not unique.
I was thinking about that too. They should either put that trim piece around washing machine on hidden hinges. Or just use velcro to keep it in place.

Hiii i have used vinyl before and had the same problem took it off tried again. I realised that it's way easier working the opposite way from back to front. I hope that helps❤❤
The counter tops are such a labor of love and looks so good! Trying something new is often harder than doing the same old thing, but so excited to see you all grow, in real time!
Congrats for pulling thru that vinyl moment 🎉that was rough and stressful just watching it … everything turned out amazing from the tile to the washer housing
Yes, but most people cut it slightly bigger than needed and then trim. Makes sticking it down so much easier than using a huge piece
Im always so excited for your studio fix series. I feel like that’s when your innate passion and talent shine the brightest. Really enjoyed seeing what you did with this space and appreciate that you don’t shy away from showing how challenging certain things turned out to be.
I love the tile idea, what a great idea so going to do this on a DIY project. You have a great team😀 so many great ways to transform a small space GREAT JOB!!👍👍
I cannot tell you how much joy these videos bring me, every time I'm feeling down I watch an Alexandra Gater video and puff all worries away
At 0:35 add a lil pom pom at the illustration shoes they already look like ur slippers just a cute lil detail love u mother
Absolutely over the top on this makeover. So much talent with you and your team.
Pretty sure the landlord is going to love this incredible fix as well as the tenant…
I love the pink and green together looks so good😍🥲🔥
Love the tile product! What a beautiful bright kitchen transformation!
This is quite possibly my favorite makeover! It says "welcome home" for a basement apartment. That's a huge win.
Well … this vinyl kitchen counter and your studio kitchen tile sealed the deal … I’m too lazy for nice things 😏😣😝
The BEFORE is so much nicer than my current Toronto kitchen. I'm just going to cry now.
Really cute makeover. On the technical side, noticed that no silicone was placed below the tiles where they meet the top of the backsplash. This is an absolute must because water will splash up. Also, this is still renter friendly when done.
I absolutely loved this. Every time I watch one of your videos, I have the overwhelming desire to make over my space then I remember I don't have your skills.

This is my current favorite interior design channel here on YT. Excellent makeover as usual
I’d put a wooden chopping block over the washing machine
I love those kitchen tiles! Definitely renter friendly and they look sooooo good!
