F&F supercharged is definitely one of the rides of all time: The ride vehicle is runs, the actors act, sound system is working and the director filmed some stuff.
I wrote a Google review saying "This is the bestest ride I have ever to rode. It's incredible to finally find a family. I was an orphan with no friends so it really is a good feeling to finally have a home. Can't wait til we all go to Olive Garden together." And I gave it 5 fuckin' stars.
Went on this ride about 3 weeks ago. For that awkward FBI agent stand-off scene, my view of the characters was 100% obstructed by one of the pillars of the ride vehicle. My friend and I stared at each other the whole time in annoyed, stunned silence...and the first thing my friend said as we walked off-ride was "I need to show you a funny video later." That video ended up being Jenny Nicholson's iconic Galactic Starcruiser video, which then led the algorithm to recommend me FYA's ET Adventure episode......Thank you, Fast and Furious: Supercharged. You being the worst ride I've ever been on in my life inadvertently introduced me to my new fav podcast, and now I get to watch them roast you. Life is beautiful.
The redeeming quality about Fast & Furious: Supercharged in Orlando was watching my little bro with Downs Syndrome experience it - Fast & Furious is one of his favorite franchises and the Rock is his idol - watching him be so totally immersed and thrilled, was an absolute treat 🤩 Otherwise... yeah not a great ride 🤣
I was one of the team members unfortunate enough to ride this during team member preview. It was the absolute worst thing I've ever been on. It really was an easy potential layup to just make a Test Track clone, and it's right next to the team member parking lot, so they 100% could have. I don't remember the actual price tag anymore, but I remember adjusting for inflation and finding out Mummy cost a LOT more and realizing, yeah, this is gonna be bad. I also got to ride Hagrid's during TM previews. I waited around 3 hours and it was honestly worth the wait to get to preview it. But Supercharged was a walk-on and I felt like I was Wesley from Princess Bride strapped into that torture machine, getting the life drained from me, painfully.
Forgot to mention. This ride was initially geared up to use 3D screens, but the constant negative reactions to 3D screens in the park made executives just decide to pull it. I don't know if it means there's a 3D mode that never gets used, or if they tore out the functionality. But even if they'd left it, it's just dumping glitter onto a turd.
I remember taking my gf to universal studios for her first time, and after we watched the Fast and Furious Supercharge, her expression was complete silence, confusion and she says "wtf just happened?" LMAO I laughed so hard and its a core memory of mine
Me and my family took one of our cousins, who didnt know anything about theme parks, to Universal a few years ago. The whole trip we were talking up Fast & Furious because we knew how terrible it was and we were looking forward to how dumb it would be. Our cousin took it at face value and was *so confused* the whole time.
Poseiden is a real one for this. Great episode and proof that the test is a great and entertaining model for this podcast and a great gage for what we desire in our theme park atrractions.
Okay so googled Cookie Puss, it’s an ice cream cake face made by Carvel Ice Cream in the 1970s and honestly it’s pretty horrifying looking and makes the Rocks line all the better.
It simply must be a world-class attraction if not only for the fact that one of the ride vehicles rolled over my foot when I was 9 and it still operates to this day.
fast and furious and kong weren't the only attractions that were originally studio tour attractions, the whole original park was basically extended versions of studio tour attractions. they've been doing that for decades.
Yep, Jaws, Kong, and Earthquake were all attractions based on the tram tour. Now Fast and furious and new the Kong are. It's sad because the original rides were infinitely better.
I miss Disaster, it was one of my fav attractions there. Really sad it got replaced by this. And I dunno how well this podcast is doing but you talk a lot about keeping the show going. I would totally donate to a Patreon for it, and I’m sure others would too. It’s an incredible show.
I just wanna say you guys always do such a great job describing attractions! I haven't been to Disney/Universal for 12 years but thanks to videos and your descriptions I can easily understand the ride without having been on it. You guys also make me excited to go to theme parks again because I feel like I'll have a deeper appreciation and be doing the World Class Test in my head. Thanks so much, and I hope you cover a Six Flags attraction soon! That's the only theme park near me haha
love this pod!!! i do think the detrackulation test should be switched to something more along the lines of : does it have good pacing, bc even bad rides can be long, but good rides can be short, but if the pacing is good, then all is well!
Recent trip to universal, first time riding this. First ride after lunch where we had a few drinks and a shot of rumple each. In my drunken stupor, I’m wondering if this ride was made for us and we were for sure feeling ready to “party”. After riding, my buzz was gone and I was confused as to wtf just happened. Hated it 😂
I may have said it before on this channel, but my favorite part about the Extreme Close-Up part was our tour guide said nothing until the show ended. He immediately said “German cars, Asian setting, and Latino music… moving on!” I do like seeing people’s reactions from how absurd the ride is especially the helicopter part with Dom. First time riders have hilarious facial expressions during and after the show.
As a fan of the movie series and gearhead the wait in line was really cool seeing all the movie props and cars, that was actually my favorite part, the actual ride was a fever dream 🤣 I never thought id see physics thrown out the window more than the movies but the ride did it 😂
The localization is super cheap. It is still Los Angeles. They just replaced the US Bank Tower with the Salesforce Tower. I think they also changed a couple of freeway signs. And then called it a day.
“Cookiepuss” is another generational gap term. It’s the name of the ice cream cake character from Carvel (kids in the 80s got these for their birthdays). You could pick Fudgie the Whale or Cookiepuss.
In my humblest opinion. The only way for this ride to be well themed and fit better is if it was an indoor coaster. It can even be as mild as space mountain because I can’t tolerate rides more intense than the mummy.
They have to start offering a version of studio lot tour where you can take a tram that doesn’t go to any of the 3D screen rooms. One that is literally just a tour with facts
I love this podcast, I hope one day y'all do a food episode about the worldclass eats at Disneyland/Disneyworld because I don't go there very often, and I never know which snacks to get.
Just so incredibly poetic that this attraction, which is a creative disaster, replaced an attraction that was called DISASTER. Some funny foreshadowing there. Great show guys!
My favorite part of the ride is when Letty taunts Shaw by saying "how about you eat asphalt?" which is supposed to be a funny road pun but without the pun she's just telling him to eat ass like some 12 year old who doesn't know how insults work beyond saying bad words sometimes.
The first time I had the opportunity to experience this ride, the tram tour had to end without it because we had to stop for several minutes due to filming happening nearby. I was so disappointed and just had to do the tour again very soon after. Now every time I do the studio tour, I pray that the ride is broken or that we have to stop again so we don't have to go through F&F 😂
Wow, I did not expect that to get world class. This ride really is deeper than i thought. You guys have given me a newfound appreciation for this ride and new outlook on Vin Diesel's acting abilities.
OMG I love this podcast. You guys are awesome, but you forgot one of the best lines from this. "I"VE GOT THE BULL BY THE HORNS!" Ryan, is Knotts Scary Farm better than Horror nights? What are your thoughts?
We just went on fast and furious last weekend during the Orlando Informer meetup (you guys should check it out if you haven’t already). The actors in the queue are the best part for me. When Mia said she doesn’t know why people keep racing Dom the actor was just like “student loans” 😂 I LOVE the ad lib and each time is different. The ride is so bad that it’s hilarious. My nephew (10) has some entertaining commentary when we rode with him 😂
I once didn’t get on the Studio Tour because I didn’t want to sit through Supercharged. I’ve come to like it now as a meme and my friends and I always laugh through the whole thing.
bro the way im sitting here laughing at myself after discovering this podcast a month ago as a theme park fan and just NOW realizing now that ryan is ryan from freaking buzzfeed after the recent discourse 😭 i love how the internet is examining every angle of their decision meanwhile they’re cracking open a cold one and talking about fast and furious the ride lmfao the dichotomy…never change guys 🤙🏼

I've had the pleasure of getting a party bus to just myself in the back row in the morning. Due to the lack of weight in the vehicle, the back row absolutely yeets you up and down quite painfully as anyone might know with a pair of balls 😅😂 Great way to start the day 😃
I’m going to Universal Orlando this upcoming August for the first time ever in my life and I’ve discovered that Fast and the Furious Supercharged will close just before I get there. I’m devastated! What… now I gotta do extra rides on Mummy to make up for it???
They can fit a decent sized dark ride coaster in the current show building in Orlando. Imagine one of the Kuka arms swinging a helicopter with Vin Diesel hanging on, kinda like Expedition Everest. Some improvements to the queue making the garage interactive and an update to the preshow videos and story could make it perfect. Something like some new turbo technology mixed with the current story.

Am I the only one who got the Cookie Puss reference? (It was the name of a Carvel ice cream cake when I was a kid). First time I’ve had to question if I’m too old to be watching Watcher 😅
I would argue three tram rides made it to Orlando. Earthquake was just the Hollywood version with the extra preshows. You even boarded a tram to go into the subway. Jaws and original Kong were from the tram ride also but they were uniquely difference from their California counterparts.
The TM's at the Florida pre-show can be great and set this up sort of like Jungle Cruise style humor in the "we know this isn't serious, just have fun with it" way. I also love the queue stuff which is sort of like the Jimmy Fallon ride....the queue is better than the ride
I've been to Universal Studios exactly once, rode the tram tour with F&F the once. We loved the tram tour, of course. I didn't hate F&F. My wife didn't hate it. I'm glad we have you all to make up the hate. Note: Didn't hate it is as good as it'll get from me. I'm not a crazy person.
If sponsors aren’t enough to keep this alive, can you guys just start a patreon? I haven’t given to a channel’s patreon before but I love what you guys do so much, AND I’m a recent fan, I haven’t even been around here much and I’m already sold, so please guys, please

It's worth it just to see how bad a company like universal can mess up a ride. The Que in Orlando also has some dope cars, so worth it if you have time to kill.
I can’t believe that none of you mentioned the beetle juice funko pop! It’s in the area where there’s a bunch of tools when you go through a cage like spot. If you look up, you’ll see beetle juice.
Listen. It is so much not a World Class Attraction that I drunkenly complained about how disappointed I was to some random cornered Australian woman in our hotel pool for about 15 minutes. My fiancé had to practically carry me away. I feel strongly. But I do love the movies.
Okay can we add to the bad that depending on your seat, you get wet?! I went on it in desperation this past week because Florida had record heat and I needed to sit in AC during my journey from Men in Black to The Mummy and it was a walk on. Anyway I was sat in the last row and during TWO explosions, my face got sprayed. Is that meant to be gasoline from the exploded tanker?! No thank you, Family.
F&F supercharged is definitely one of the rides of all time: The ride vehicle is runs, the actors act, sound system is working and the director filmed some stuff.
hella adults signed off on it
In my heart, Fast and Furious will always be a World Class Attraction ♥
That means you have the heart of a family man.. because it's all about family.
Oh hey it’s you! I watch your content from time to time! Keep up the great work!

Cookie Puss is the name of a famous cake, lol. It's actually a totally clean insult.
Think Fudgy the Whale, same company.
It's also a reeeeally old Beastie Boys song
@@johnmarion4129 Yeah, but that song is referencing the same cake 😂
I am curious why he thought it was a bad insult lol. Does he think its some old time slur or something
@@Sour_Ink I think he put it on the same level as calling someone a "pussy" which I don't think they ever would have put in this ride to begin with
Almost two hours of Poseidon tearing into supercharged?? Sign me up!
Edit: I loved the troll energy even more, can't wait for the next one!
The 'helicopter' IS a drone. Right before Shaw 'dies', which he doesn't die, he yells "Call in the drones!" And that's exactly what happens.
I've never heard Poseidon so un-grumpy before lol. Wish he brought some of this energy to his videos.

Still waiting for an appearance of the good boy from Podcast: The Ride
FINALLY!
Requesting Tokyo Disney, Disney Sea and the Beauty and the Beast Ride for a future pod!
