    The small CO2 cartrige and low capacity are some pretty serious design compromises, so it was clearly important to the designers that it was as compact as possible.
    I guess this pistol must have originally been designed for a different market where it is legal to carry pistols that shoot pepper balls etc.

    Hello from the lower Florida Keys in the US. Your video on the HDR50 started me on my launcher collection around a bit over a year ago. I have several in my collection with the Walther PPQ M2 in .43cal and this Compact as my two favorite ones. The Compact is an odd launcher, but with common sense and practice it has a lot of potential. More options with launcher and less than lethal on this side of the pond. ( That is if you live the right States, ie Florida. ) Back on topic, this launcher may not be for everyone, but it is a great option if you work with it.

    What an odd thing - at first it looked like a plastic brick left in the oven too long. But Andy, you did show the thing actually works. Like most small pistols, it is a collection of compromises. Thanks for keeping us informed about all the developments in the sport - and keeping it fun.

    Interesting pistol but hardly compact, personally I'd rather have a couple of extra rounds & a 12g Co2 on board even if it was a bit bigger , it's going to be expensive to run with the smaller Co2's and obviously have less shots per capsule exasperating the situation . I'm pretty certain any half decent catapult will trounce it for power even if it's harder for a novice to become competent with , but the practice is half the fun so it gives You the excuse to practice more , after all any excuse is better than none . Thanks Andy , Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well.

    A very powerful airsoft sniper rifle will put out about 1.7 ft/lbs. And sniper rifles are meant to enage at longer distances due to their power because up close, they can really cause injury, so when you consider that, 4+ ft/lbs sounds like a lot!

    • @thepenultimateninja5797
      @thepenultimateninja5797 Год назад +2

      On the other hand, even the humble .22lr is usually somewhere around 120 ft/lbs, and that is considered inadequate for self defense.
      This gun would definitely cause an injury if it hit someone in the face, but I can't see it stopping a determined attacker, especially with only four rounds.

      One thing to consider there is that Airsoft uses 6mm bbs and the TP-50 uses 12.7mm (.50 cal) balls; the smaller bbs can penetrate skin a lot easier at lower power levels.
      Imagine lightly jabbing yourself in the hand with a knife versus lightly hitting your palm with a hammer, the knife is likely to stick in you even with a gentle push. This is why velocity figures given in feet-per-second are arbitrary until weighed against the calibre and grain of ammunition

    • @thepenultimateninja5797
      @thepenultimateninja5797 Год назад +1

      @@Doctor_Boz That plastic airsoft BB may have a smaller surface area, but it also has very little mass, and thus little kinetic energy. That's why we express it in the form of ft/lbs (or joules) because that takes both velocity and mass into consideration.
      A BB may be better at breaking the skin, but it won't transfer as much energy to the target. Neither has enough energy to be effective as an anti personnel weapon anyway,, so it's a moot point.

      you clearly don't know how to use "snowflake" properly. it seems like you don't even know what it means in the context you tried to use it.

    Mmmmm.
    Not fussed, obviously not intended for the UK market in the first instance. Again has the HD label, leading the unknowning to employ it as named, or even pocket carry it out for personal protection. Last I'd head this earns a 5yr stretch in clink c/o His Highness pleasure.
    If they just re marketed it with a different name 🤔
    Enjoyed the review, but this won't be joining my collection
