The irony of this episode is that Robert is pretending to be a good moral man in the game but he’s not despite the constant reminders around him of what he’s supposed to be. The people in the real world seem to be assholes at first glance because they treat him poorly but in the game they never once turned on each other even when they’re being tortured, two of them sacrifice they're lives for the rest, they’re unintentionally showing him what he should be acting like,

No worries. Glad you enjoyed the videos! The one tagged in the description is linked for copyright reasons, but the others are all from the YT audio library. The first track is called "Escapism" by Yung Logos.

Underrated episode. Really brought back the original ethos of BM before Netflix. It’s not just “technology bad”, but rather its “how can technology be used by bad people and what does that say about our society”.

This was the first and only episode of Black Mirror I ever watched; we watched it during my Cinematography class. I was genuinely on the edge of my seat the whole time!

Cristin Milioti and Billy Magnusson (Valdak in this show) later starred together in the dark sci-fi comedy series Made For Love, which has similar elements as USS Callister. Magnusson plays a tech billionaire who asserts total control over his wife (Milioti) who is forced to fain adoration for him.

Rendall! I've seen Milioti in a few things over the past few years and she never disappoints. She seems to have an affinity for comedy and scifi work.

No offense but this was a very poor psychological description of the character Daly. He's not outright evil and the show puts alot of effort into showing his progression into an unempathetic human mostly towards those who bully him irl. He also did not put the protagonist in his simulation only until she was pressured into hazing him and thinking less of him by the other coworkers. He's not outright evil, and the superiority complex is not the way it was depicted in the video. It was a result of years of bullying from his colleagues. The show put too much effort to show that progression through these small details for them to go unnoticed.

I have mixed feeling about USS Callister; the story is wonderful, but the way the tech relies on DNA messes with my suspension of disbelief.

How does a genius programmer be skilled enough to remove a penis; but fails to remove their ability to text and/or call the real world? There are too many plot holes in this show that I couldn't take it serious. I checked out when the Mary Sue character magically became smarter at programing a game she didn't even create. At some point, the genius programmer should have enslaved himself (his clone) to do all of his work for him. This would have made it possible for him to have a better life (away from the bullies at his work).

lol! Literally the first person I thought of when I was writing that line. I had a visual gag lined up for our boy Elon riding a bluebird, but I ran out of time. I'm sure the opportunity will present itself again.
