Had to come back to this video and comment. Based on this video I took the plunge and retired my M6 Driver which I loved and hit great and purchased the Sim 2 Max. Arrived today and just had it up the range and all I can say is WOW! 😳 It feels unreal and hits like a rocket 🚀. I normally hit a high draw with a hook being my bad shot if I get my timing out. No matter how hard I went at this driver I couldn’t get it to draw or fade more than 10 yards off centre! Everything right down the middle! Can’t wait to get it out on course for some distance testing! I owe you brother!

I play in Tampa area every June when I visit family. It’s HOT and even worse, HUMID so if people don’t understand that, they’ve never been. As someone just trying to get to 100 on my golf game, I appreciate your tips! I think some better newer equipment could help but form and ball striking is what I’m working on!

So glad I found your channel. Yesterday I bought sim2 max driver, 3&4 hybrid, 5-aw. Haven’t played with them yet though. All the reviews I’ve seen is people driving 300+ yards. I’ve been trying to find an honest non biased review from a “normal” golfer. Are you using the 9°? I’ve always thought with swing speed around 100mph, 10.5° is the best. @@LetsPlayThru I figured I’d probably be ok with a 9° because of being able to adjust it and also with it being forgiving, but I went ahead and went the 10.5°. I’m gonna try it on all 3 settings and I’ll let ya know how it turns out.
@@LetsPlayThru just went to the range. I lofted the 10.5° up 2° and the ball went way high and far. At 10.5° it went straight at the perfect trajectory. Lofted down 2° felt good, but I seemed to not hit it as straight.

Hi, I really enjoy your videos. Last year i got fitted for the Ping G425. After a month, it was in the garage. I hated it. I’m a senior so I bit the bullet and got the Titleist TS1 and it has been amazing. Most drives are on the fairway and long. It’s made a nice difference.
The SIM 2 Max does not have a draw is, the Max D has draw bias. Max is just a larger face and a little more forgiving but also a little more spin just like you saw on course
It's entirely down to whether you can control less spin (SIM2) or would like the extra help from side to side with the SIM2 Max. If you liked the draw bias of the Max but don't want the extra spin so you can still get the same distance you can throw a different shaft in there. The Tensei AV Raw Blue is mid trajectory mid spin, so with either you can play with the trajectory and spin by switching that.
You get the sim 2 max d that gives even more spin ,I just sim 2 ,was going to get fitted for stealth 2 but got told not to cause the face popping off or breaking, I've just hitt a few shots with sim 2 feels amazing
@@Martin-m2i I've heard about the Stealth face issues as well, would be very annoyed at the cost for those drivers if that happened. Their new TM driver comes out any week probably too. I still use my SIM2 also and like it, gonna need a better product to come out for me to switch away.
im intrigued by this, I just got a 9 sim max with 123 clubhead speed and was thinking maybe the regular sim is suited better for me, I don't want the extra spin. maybe I should try what you do?
@@jdheelfan sick, what are the pay offs exactly? higher launch lower spin? id imagine because such little loft at 7 degrees the ball flight would be kind of low, or does high swing speed negate that?
I have the G425M in a 7wood with a Tensei Orange 75S and it was almost instantly my favorite club in the bag. Just so easy to launch high and spinny around 215-220 into Par 5s. Love my TSi2 4 wood also but it's more of a mid spin 240 club.

great review! no doubt sim2 is lower spinning with occasional bomb but no question you found more fairways with max, the ol more fairways vs the occasional monster drive delima we all face ... I think over a year of play your index would be lower with the max but that little red guy on your left should is whispering "go long or go home wussy"... ;0). I have this decision a few years ago, my current gamer shorter straighter Ping 400max or monster long once per round Cally Epic, I chose fairways and love my 400 max but that little red guy does appear at times. Still waiting for someone to make BOTH! Love to see Sim2 vs TSi3, both long and not as much fairway finders as all the maxs? HOW ABOUT THEM BUCS!! FIRE THE CANNONS!
Just watched your video and it top notch 👍 hope you have got your breath back? I have just started playing again and looking to add a new driver to the bag, looking at the sim2 max myself. I hope you can answer a question for me please. I have a taylormade R15 at the moment with a custom shaft which I love but my question is will the shaft fit the sim 2 max if I got the head only as I can’t get a custom fit on the sim 2 max now due to stealth in the stores now. Hope you can answer my question . Stay safe .
I don’t have an answer to that unfortunately. I will say it’s pretty hard just to get a head only. Manufacturers want to sell it with the shaft these days. But if you do find out let us know.

Excellent honest reviews. I’d love to see a comparison between SIM2 Max and Callaway Epic Max OR Epic Speed. And maybe Tour Edge Exotics hot new C721 driver vs SIM2 or the Cobra Radspeed. Or compare all 3. The new C721 is a tremendous new driver! Thanks for the great efforts and sincere commentary.
Interesting to see the discrepancy in the data. On the second hole your garmin said 236 was the estimated carry and you mentioned that it landed in the bunker at 255. That’s pretty significant. I always wonder how accurate those things are. Great video! Keep up the great work!

Hey there Dei, thanks for the question. I was really impressed with the SIM2 line this year. I’ve been playing the driver and now the irons too. Hard to imagine it could be significantly improved on in a years time, especially with all the manufacturers having production delays. I prob wouldn’t wait for the next model if it was me, but maybe pickup one used and save a few quid.

Great vid as always - just bought myself a SIM2 after watching all your videos..! When you adjusted your driver from 9.0 to 9.5 degrees, did the screw click when you tightened it? Mine didn't click but I don't dare tighten it any further as I don't want to damage my club..
Congrats on the new driver Cameron. It needs to click. In fact best practice is probably to hear two clicks. It might feel like you have reached the maximum tightness, but just push thru and you will hear it snap in.

My daughter has a terrible slice. She is 5’10 so she has men clubs with senior flex that she has been playing with last couple years. Looking to upgrade her driver from box set she has. Thinking of getting her Max. Thoughts?
Hi Michelle, MAX is definitely more forgiving. PING also makes some great forgiving clubs too. But the best idea is to get her fit at a golf shop or with a pro if that's possible. In the meantime have her try playing the ball further back in her stance, closing the club face just a bit (possibly adjusting her grip - look up "strengthening your golf grip" or similar) and taking a more inside to outside swing. Some good tips from other creators on RUclips I'm sure too. Good luck!
Went for my fitting this past wk for irons. Decided to go with PING G425s with Graphite Alta CB Slate (Stock) Stiff. Blue Dot 1 up. I didn’t think I would be able to go with graphite, but it was stiff, I gained 7 mph more ball speed and 12 yards more distance over steel shaft. It came down to SIM 2s or the PINGS. Just felt more comfortable with PING. Going back for driver fitting next wk. I think it will be more difficult picking the best for me. They are all so nice! I shot both PING and G425, but was tired out from 2 hrs of hitting irons didn’t get a good read of either. Will retest those two, as well Titleist TSI 2 and 3, and Cobra Radspeed. Thx for another great honest video. It’s nice to see these drivers on course how they react.
I always enjoy your videos. One question....you mention several times that the Sim2 Max is “slight draw biased”. This must be your personal opinion....correct? have read and watched tons of videos on this club (including TM website) with no mention of any draw bias with the Sim 2 Max. It is my It is my understanding that the Sim2 Max D is the only model that is draw bias in the current Sim2 lineup. Just an FYI..... Keep up the great videos! 👍
it’s very slight and has to do with where the weighting is set. The face is not specifically turned like the MAX D, but the weights are shifted heel side to promote a very slight draw bias. In use, I’m not even sure it’s noticeable TBH
For your sake I’m glad your Sim2 made a comeback over the Max. I would hate to get fitted for a very expensive driver and then a couple weeks later find another one that is better for my game.
Great video! I went with the SIM2 Max 9 degree, and love it! Went from a Ping400 LST, and this is just as stable, more distance, and more forgiving. Question around more draw bias. I know one of the Sim 2 Max does have the Draw option, is that the one you tested here? Also, do you know if more loft closes the club face a bit? I.e. If I move my 9 degree to 10, does the club face close or open? Keep making these video, I’m enjoying the on course, and “real life” swing speed. It really makes a difference seeing someone test gear with a similar swing speed.
Congrats on the new stick! I think you are referring to the SIM MAX D, but that’s not the one I tried. This was the regular MAX. Great question about the club face closing. To be 100% honest with you, I am not sure. I know we have a lot of armchair fitters here though, so maybe they can chime in with that answer. My guess is no. Stated loft should be loft no matter what.
@@LetsPlayThru check the mobile club maker youtube channel, he explains the effect of adding or reducing loft on driver’s adjustable hosel. When you increase loft you close the clubface, conversely when you decrease loft you open the clubface. BUT if you square the face to the target in both cases there should be no difference in face to path or in ball trajectory.

Well I bought the regular SIM2, but must say if I had to do all over again I just might go MAX. just seemed to find more fairways without sacrificing too much performance. Really tough call tho. No wrong choice really.

Regular Sim2 is the best driver I have ever hit. Long and definitely very straight. Liked it so much I bought the Sim2 Max 3 HL. It is a great weapon.

Awesome, glad to have you! I have 9° but I’ve turned it up to 9.5°. The little extra height helped me gain about 7 yards

I have a 9 degree SIM2 and I set the face down to it's lowest setting. So it's playing at 7 degrees. Perfect club.

great review! no doubt sim2 is lower spinning with occasional bomb but no question you found more fairways with max, the ol more fairways vs the occasional monster drive delima we all face ... I think over a year of play your index would be lower with the max but that little red guy on your left should is whispering "go long or go home wussy"... ;0). I have this decision a few years ago, my current gamer shorter straighter Ping 400max or monster long once per round Cally Epic, I chose fairways and love my 400 max but that little red guy does appear at times. Still waiting for someone to make BOTH! Love to see Sim2 vs TSi3, both long and not as much fairway finders as all the maxs? HOW ABOUT THEM BUCS!! FIRE THE CANNONS!

Just watched your video and it top notch 👍 hope you have got your breath back? I have just started playing again and looking to add a new driver to the bag, looking at the sim2 max myself. I hope you can answer a question for me please.
I have a taylormade R15 at the moment with a custom shaft which I love but my question is will the shaft fit the sim 2 max if I got the head only as I can’t get a custom fit on the sim 2 max now due to stealth in the stores now.

I don’t have an answer to that unfortunately. I will say it’s pretty hard just to get a head only. Manufacturers want to sell it with the shaft these days. But if you do find out let us know.

1:46 SIM2 Max is not draw-biased per TaylorMade. It's a neutral driver. They make a SIM2 Max D if you want draw-biased,.

Interesting to see the discrepancy in the data. On the second hole your garmin said 236 was the estimated carry and you mentioned that it landed in the bunker at 255. That’s pretty significant. I always wonder how accurate those things are. Great video! Keep up the great work!
Yes they claim to be within 5 yards accuracy. Will be doing a video comparing it with it's competitors soon.
Test #2 the Sim 2 landed at the lip of the bunker and came backwards, so not a fair judge of its distance on that shot, right?

Hey there Dei, thanks for the question. I was really impressed with the SIM2 line this year. I’ve been playing the driver and now the irons too. Hard to imagine it could be significantly improved on in a years time, especially with all the manufacturers having production delays. I prob wouldn’t wait for the next model if it was me, but maybe pickup one used and save a few quid.

Great vid as always - just bought myself a SIM2 after watching all your videos..! When you adjusted your driver from 9.0 to 9.5 degrees, did the screw click when you tightened it? Mine didn't click but I don't dare tighten it any further as I don't want to damage my club..
Congrats on the new driver Cameron. It needs to click. In fact best practice is probably to hear two clicks. It might feel like you have reached the maximum tightness, but just push thru and you will hear it snap in.

My daughter has a terrible slice. She is 5’10 so she has men clubs with senior flex that she has been playing with last couple years. Looking to upgrade her driver from box set she has. Thinking of getting her Max. Thoughts?
Hi Michelle, MAX is definitely more forgiving. PING also makes some great forgiving clubs too. But the best idea is to get her fit at a golf shop or with a pro if that's possible. In the meantime have her try playing the ball further back in her stance, closing the club face just a bit (possibly adjusting her grip - look up "strengthening your golf grip" or similar) and taking a more inside to outside swing. Some good tips from other creators on RUclips I'm sure too. Good luck!

Went with the Sim irons over the mizuno 921. Similar performance but that Sim felt so much better.
Went for my fitting this past wk for irons. Decided to go with PING G425s with Graphite Alta CB Slate (Stock) Stiff. Blue Dot 1 up. I didn’t think I would be able to go with graphite, but it was stiff, I gained 7 mph more ball speed and 12 yards more distance over steel shaft.
It came down to SIM 2s or the PINGS. Just felt more comfortable with PING.
Going back for driver fitting next wk. I think it will be more difficult picking the best for me. They are all so nice! I shot both PING and G425, but was tired out from 2 hrs of hitting irons didn’t get a good read of either.
Will retest those two, as well Titleist TSI 2 and 3, and Cobra Radspeed.

It’s called Shot Tracer. It’s an app as well as software for Mac.
Im just on the sim 3l2 went from m6 ,never got stealth 2 cause the face pops off or breaks ,great driver

I always enjoy your videos. One question....you mention several times that the Sim2 Max is “slight draw biased”. This must be your personal opinion....correct? have read and watched tons of videos on this club (including TM website) with no mention of any draw bias with the Sim 2 Max. It is my It is my understanding that the Sim2 Max D is the only model that is draw bias in the current Sim2 lineup. Just an FYI..... Keep up the great videos! 👍
it’s very slight and has to do with where the weighting is set. The face is not specifically turned like the MAX D, but the weights are shifted heel side to promote a very slight draw bias. In use, I’m not even sure it’s noticeable TBH

Great video! I went with the SIM2 Max 9 degree, and love it! Went from a Ping400 LST, and this is just as stable, more distance, and more forgiving.
Question around more draw bias. I know one of the Sim 2 Max does have the Draw option, is that the one you tested here?
Also, do you know if more loft closes the club face a bit? I.e. If I move my 9 degree to 10, does the club face close or open?
Keep making these video, I’m enjoying the on course, and “real life” swing speed. It really makes a difference seeing someone test gear with a similar swing speed.
Congrats on the new stick! I think you are referring to the SIM MAX D, but that’s not the one I tried. This was the regular MAX.
Great question about the club face closing. To be 100% honest with you, I am not sure. I know we have a lot of armchair fitters here though, so maybe they can chime in with that answer. My guess is no. Stated loft should be loft no matter what.
@@LetsPlayThru check the mobile club maker youtube channel, he explains the effect of adding or reducing loft on driver’s adjustable hosel. When you increase loft you close the clubface, conversely when you decrease loft you open the clubface. BUT if you square the face to the target in both cases there should be no difference in face to path or in ball trajectory.

Well I bought the regular SIM2, but must say if I had to do all over again I just might go MAX. just seemed to find more fairways without sacrificing too much performance. Really tough call tho. No wrong choice really.
