    Leeland Sklar had a good definition to the Dingwall B- string! He described it having as much definition and clarity as other strings and sounding even with the E-, A-, D-, and G- strings. There's a video of him talking about his backstory with Dingwall Basses and talking about them.

    solid review! i love the attention to detail on thing like the rolled edges of the fretboard. that kind of ergonomic feature should be talked about and it's not in most videos

    Had mine for a month now and all I can say is WOW, This Bass is definitely the best bass I have ever played (and I have played a lot of different basses over my 45 years of playing ) Quality is outstanding sound is amazing. I highly recommend trying one out. If there is one con you have to be patient to get one as they are a small company at this stage and there is not a lot of these basses in the music stores. I bought mine through Long & McQuade music and I waited almost a year but believe me it was worth the wait.

    The Combustions are assembled and painted in Canada. Necks and bodies done offshore from Canadian wood so far as I've been told.

    I really want to get into these(especially after learning they're Canadian), but I just can't get over the plasticy top end and looks of them. Multiscale strings also aren't too common.

    Ignore the "mAde In ChInA" comments. This thing is a battle axe and the best bass I've ever owned. The only thing is that the onboard eq is gratuitous and I haven't had batteries in it since the ones it came with died. They should offer a strictly passive version.

      China has actually gotten much better recently. I got an expensive coffee grinder that was made in China and its very well made. I also noticed this with the electronic accessory brand "UGREEN", their stuff is on par with anything from Apple, at a much lower cost. Also, the fastest production lap time at the Nurburgring was set by a Chinese electric car. It'll tale a while for them to lose the stigma, but China doesn't just manufacture garbage anymore.

    Did anyone else hear the truss rod rattling around in that neck? Canadian Dingwall basses can’t be broken. They are tanks that I toured with coast to coast many times and maybe had to tune 3 times 😂😂. These combustion bass guitars just seem like a rip off. “Seem like” if they weren’t great so many people wouldn’t be buying them. I just figure for the price you pay for a Chinese bass you’d get better quality. A truss rod that doesn’t rattle, a decent quality string retainer, etc.....

    • @spipmusic9919
      @spipmusic9919 2 года назад

      no, didn't hear nothing, my two dingwalls are absolute monsters and can't find a fault in them in I tried. No truss rod issues or anything else to be found. Tight lows, glorious high mids.

    • @PelleKuipers
      @PelleKuipers Год назад

      If the truss rod rattles it just means that there is no tension on it. That's easily fixed and has nothing to do with quality.

    • @richardnunez371
      @richardnunez371 Год назад

      @@PelleKuipers I respect your opinion. With all of my old instruments you’ve owned tho you should remember what Carl has taught us all about truss rods. Sheldon’s custom instruments do not rattle….

    • @PelleKuipers
      @PelleKuipers Год назад

      @@richardnunez371 As a builder I disagree. I've made plenty of guitar where, if the trussrod is straight it will rattle.
      It has nothing to do with quality, it's just that the cavity for the trussrod slightly larger is than the trussrod itself, which is by design (talking about a dual action trussrod). One half turn either way and you're sorted.
      Older Fender don't have this as they have a one way trussrod and the channel is arched.
