Actually, narcissists are extremely dependent on others. They need others to prop up their false self, and when an extremely important prop (like a child or spouse) walks away, a narcissist can go into a real decline.
Of course, it's not like a narcissist will miss that person. If a narcissist misses such a person, they miss them the same way a lame man misses a crutch.
People are crutches to a narcissist.

i'm surprise sometime loser get old and no more can see them soon good-looking are in the position.. so do you play with word in the fantasy way to make it sound more intelligent and criticizing others who are better than them..
if you look at the sound and the hand movement of this old guy
you would see that defensiveness that he's projecting on others..
