Nice to have a (farming) Queen's speech on Christmas Day. Thank you, and sorry if Santa didn't bring you the Valtra with the fancy interior, which wouldn't fit down your chimney or under that tree ( though tbf, Roy did his best for the tree). Hi Charlotte and Roy, now i know the name of your farm and when i am next in Cumbria i will look you up Only joking, its a long way from Australia just to say hello. I love Roys attitude with the xmas tree, jusy cut it down and trim it to suit the roof height. You used a fancy tree holder to keep it upright. We always put our tree in a stand that allows the tree to sit in water for a drink during our hot summer time. Anna did a good job mustering the sheep and followed every one of your commands. I appreciate hanging home made things especially from the kids on the tree to make it more personal. You only have beef and pork in your frezer, so what is it for Xmas Lunch? Our traditional meal is Roast Lamb and Roast Vegetables. (usually on a hot Summers day, we are mad.) Enjoy Xmas holidays with your family, relatives and friends. When our kids were small I used to make a big deal about going to rob a Christmas tree from our neighbours forest every Christmas Eve. When they were about 10 and twelve or so we bumped into our neighbour as we were pulling out the tree and he made us go back and get a better one ( I always took a forked one or in general a crap tree) the lads realised then that we were not stealing the tree at all but had permission to take one, took all the fun out of it! Still put up the tree Christmas eve after lunch, but now it’s the grand kids that do the decorations, my granddaughter keeps telling me from about the 10 th of December that I am the only one in the village that hasn’t put up the tree yet and that she is going to do it in time next year but I like putting it up on Christmas eve and kinda look forward to it, so I’m sticking to my guns and I will be the last up and first down for a while yet I hope.

Christmas was very quiet, we had a Christmas dinner, and that and it was very good.
Just my self and dad, no tree or decoration.
We nearly had no tree, it’s been a difficult one. I hope you made the most of your day togetber x
@@charlotteashleyfarm thank you Charlotte yes it was the best it could be, I do have two sisters as well so the family big really. My sister and there family live 220 miles from me, my dads brother and sister are not far away and lots more family but we don't see them much really, only the a phone call from my dad's sister and brother.
My dad is coping very well really well, over the loss of my mum they was married 55 years.
In the last year we lost 4 members of my family.

No as I said in the video the cows kept leaning over the fence to nibble at it and bend all the wire :) the roots would have been HUGE on a tree that size we are going shopping for mini Christmas trees tomorrow to plant.
