Oh wow! I'm in highschool now and this is what I'm learning to play, was assigned it today for my instrumental assessment. Its so cool to see this style of music transcend between generations. I may be young, but I certainly have an appreciation for this type of music.

As a trumpet player I am in awe of this incredible performance. 500 brass players? Good grief. The logistics of this performance are mind boggling. I wish I could have been part of this glorious performance. As a child, I saw the movie when it was released in a movie theater. Of course I had to own the soundtrack. I wore out the LP!

I first "discovered" the music of Miklos Rozsa in 1974; since then he has been my very favorite composer, and his music is a very important part of my life. It has, however, made me extremely fussy when it comes to performances of that music under batons other than his, and with orchestras that are not of the quality it takes to do the music justice. That having been said, this is an utterly superb performance of "The Parade of the Charioteers" from "Ben-Hur" -- vigorous, spirited and worthy -- under Maestro Rieu, perhaps the best I've ever heard, outside that on the film's original soundtrack.
Wow! So many brass! I play the baritone horn. I would have loved to be a part of that! The lady strings are so beautiful and beautifully dressed in wonderful colored dresses. Andre was having so much fun and directed the piece majestically! A delight to watch again and again!
Aesthetically speaking, I like how the women seated in the orchestra are wearing colorful ball gowns and not a black, somber ensemble that a lot of orchestra performances require.

This takes me back to High school years playing football 🏈 and the Castle Park high Trojans Marching band playing this greatness of song and making us feel like GLADIATORS 💥💥💥💪💪💪
