If Bandai Namco ever released a Ridge Racer collection with all the arcade, console, and handheld games with VR support, I think I'd die on the spot. I love how the original creator paid hella attention to detail, whether it was the cars, the race track, or the change in the time of day during the race.
Oh man, the hours I spent in this game as well GT. I think I'll leave it as a happy memory though and not bother with VR. It does look cool though like you said. Sometimes when we go through a local tunnel my wife and I will say "Riiiiiidgeeeee Racccceeeer" just because haha.
I actually made a Daytona map before I made this one as a bit of an experiment. It uses assets from the arcade version too! It'll be out this year at some point!
I made a Quest specific version too that's cut down a bit to get it to run at a somewhat more acceptable framerate. Best to turn off the NPC cars if you want the best performance though.

Still, it must feel very nice being immersed in the ridge racer world and must thank the person for trying hard to provide something like this. Thank you for letting me know. My greatest wish is for something to provide a full VR Daytona USA 2 as the game already feature both internal and external car model, we just need the exact game but in VR. It would be an insane experience.
