I think the craziest thing that's so easy to overlook is just how fast you play the game. Like not just speedrunning a level without slowing down but getting all the coins and enemies and powerups incredibly quickly
It's kinda funny when you see top tier players play games for the first time because they have such an analytical mindset that they perform worse than most (even some casuals with good reflexes) at first, but once they get all the mechanics down, it's like watching a superhuman play
I feel like the reason Mario's speed feels reduced in this game is because all of the sprites are being displayed in 8:7 aspect ratio instead of 4:3 like the original
tips made by myself: -if you attack people with lowest time, they will have more enemies to defeat and mote time to get -if you attack people with most coins, they can spend their coins on item roulette
@@dwdadevil the only situation that would be good is if you have the fastest timer and you have like 00x time left so you can stall 1 extra second and hope they die. Otherwise that's not a good strat.

There was a free flash game where you played through the Mario game with 100!! other players and last one alive or first one to get all the way through wins. It was up for only a few days before Nintendo removed it and then they made this, stealing tjay guys idea, making it less players, and not giving him anytning.

The emphasis on bouncing on things and getting combos is super cool. I'm ranked in the 1,000's for coins right now and trying to figure out how to get the best runs for coins makes this amazing tbh.

It honestly wouldn't be all that impressive. 35 people who have spent hours memorizing every bit of the game...as it was originally, not with random goombas and bowsers thrown in everywhere. I think the muscle memory would actually end up working against them. I'm sure they'd fare much better than most, but what you're going to see is the people who are best at this game are going to be the ones who know how to manipulate it through experience.
@@TSBJunkie That is true but muscle memory aside I still think them having really good control over Mario would still give them a significant advantage over most other players. Might be wrong though.

you have a strange definition of the word "shocked." If anything I'm shocked at how close it is to the original. I clearly say I am pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. I'm still going to comment on things that are different and react to them, or explain my thought process if something weird happens. That's probably what people would want to hear from me, no?

You could do it without seeing or hearing the game, but I'm not sure that would be enough to give your lobby a chance. The fact that Nintendo, instead of just copying their SMM code, took the time to rewrite and upgrade their old SMB physics is a proof that this game will never die.
To answer your question, Hammer Bros. may seem weird at first but here's how they work. If a Hammer Bro or Bowser is to the left of Mario, they enter Charge Mode, where they chase after you at an insane speed. If they're to the right of Mario, they enter Guard Mode, where they try to cockblock you as much as possible by moving very little increments left and right erratically as they throw hammers/breathe fire and jump.
Love this game! Noticed you were streaming it yesterday my brother same time I was! Definitely different physics then the original! The biggest thing for me was the jump height off enemies. Its insane and a little broken honestly
It probably feels like you're running slower due to the screen aspect ratio & size in this version. I felt like the acceleration and running was a bit off too, it might be slightly different. Why they'd change that is beyond me, but I'm sure there's a reason.
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone say "I won, dang it!" while playing a battle royale. Probably because I almost never watch people play them, but still
Also, the warp zone doesn't works more like The Lost Level in that it can bring you back to a world you've already visited + it bring you back to a stage. (You can even redo world 1-2 if the warp zone offer you to.)
It was probably figured out by now, but the random extra enemies (ex. 4:03) are from other people's games, so whenever you kill an enemy, you send a light blue-colored version of that to someone's game randomly, and sometimes it can send a huge wave of them EDIT: I made this comment before he did mention finding it out (he mentioned sending Hammer Bros to people) so this is for anyone who didn't know now I guess 😂
As a SMB speedrunner myself when I saw this game announced on the 35th Annyversary of Mario I thought "Damn, Kosmic will be hella good at this" I wasn't wrong.
I can't count how many times you got hit by jumping straight into an enemy that's midair thinking that you'll bounce off of it just because you're falling LOLOLOL

When the timer is red, you NEED to get hit, so the timer pauses, saving time

Chain stomping and koopa shells are your best friend in this game. On the first day, I rank on average of 3rd - 5th place
