    I'm doing the same process but I can't draw the water from the bladder !
    Why is that happening?
    & the urine comes out from both sides

    This is not the accepted medical standard of care for irrigating a urinary catheter. Tap water as an irrigant is absurd. Since when has tap water been sterile. Oregon Urology should better educate themselves and their staff before posting such videos.

      Adam Aguilar I thought the very same thing. Sterile water or normal saline solution is how I was taught. But then she uses a sterile basin. Hmmmmm

      Can someone tell me,normal salin is the better for irrigate and also how much cc of water will insert bladder???

      Agreed. I was beyond appalled to hear the words “tap water”.

      Obviously they're talking about at home practices, not in a medical facility.

      I am curious about it too. I just watched another video where it explains nothing else the physiological sol.should be used. I am confused 😊

    Ok I would 1st ask where is the male nurse to do this ?

    • @danie8803
      @danie8803 Год назад

      Its 2023 not 1900! And why would you need a male nurse just for demo teaching anyway? He’s not exposed in any way BUT if he were then female nurses are professionals and can handle that too. The only time a specific gendered nurse takes care of a patient is when the patient requests such which in my experience doesn’t happen that often anymore.

      You're supposed to let the saline just drain out normally, do not pull the liquid back out with the syringe!!!

      I just watched this procedure done by an emergency room nurse, for blockage. She did it like this nurse did, basically.

  • @cnwms21

    how would you document

    • @nonh8nsk8r
      @nonh8nsk8r 7 лет назад +1

      cnwms21 if you have the whole syringe full, you document 60mL in, and then document whatever you draw out. If you draw out only 60mL, then the total is 0.
