I just started to learn how to embroidery and this has to be one of the most helpful videos I have seen so far. I really appreciate your work and for sharing your methods!
This is the most helpful video ever! The whole time my jaw was dropped! I started doing embroidered T-shirt commissions awhile ago and have been learning as I go and I’ve been sketching complicated designs on a paper, punching holes outlining it with pen on the shirt, and then connecting the dots.... So many solution options I NEEDED and had no idea about❤️
My handwriting is what people called chicken scratch and so when it comes to drawing it's even worse. LOL. But to know that I can use my printer to transfer patterns it's the best thing since the pencil and eraser. LOL. Thank you. This info will make my life so much easier.
Well thank you very much for this tutorial, you have solved my problem first go. I used 1 piece of freezer paper on my fabric first and it wouldn't go through the printer, it was still kind of floppy. Then I ironed another piece of freezer paper onto the first piece, giving double thickness and it went through and printed perfectly.
You are so cute! I mean that in the purest way as I have children twice your age! I really love your channel! It is so cool you do embroidery so well being a young man! I subbed and I look forward to more videos!
Thank you! I want to make a skirt for my nendoroid but I don't know how to print on it. Now I finally found a way to print with all the colors needed. I do have some A4 label stickers sheet that I can use.
Best tutorial ever. Thank you. I'm trying to come up with ideas for our ladies church ministry. I have lots of threads from my late Mother to share. I'm thinking pretty bookmarks. Any suggestions?
Hello and thank you so much for the detailed tutorial. I would like to draw my own pattern by hand. Do you have any tips on how I would transfer my hand drawing to the computer to print? Thank you so much.
The carbon paper! 😭 Can I reuse the Carbon paper? For those who want a no cost nethod to these amazing tips, you can put a piece of paper over your laptop or phone (for this, download a lock app because the screen will move around) and trace. After, go over the sketch with a 6B drawing pencil very hand. (usually artsy people have these so 'no cost' but if not, it'll probably cost a $1? 🤷) Make sure you know where you want to place the fabric then place it sketch side down and use a heavy item to run along the back of the paper. Because the lead is so prominent, it works. I watched it in another video.
How do you transfer the pattern onto a garment if it doesnt fit in a printer. Like say for example the corner of a scarf maybe. LOVE this video though. you've explained it so nicely :)
Great video, very clear steps and explanation! Thanks! Just one Q...What is the brand of your printer and what type? I knew about the sulky, but could never find a good printer with that way of printing
Hi, this is one of the most useful video I have come across! I am wanting to transfer my design on more than 1 piece of fabric, while I found the the inkjet printer method to be useful, it has its downsides. Is there any other way i can print the same design on multiple pieces of fabrics at home?
I'm not an artist either. I am using MS-Word, with its "Insert Shapes" feature. I also use screenshots of pictures I want to copy. If you can't create your entire image using inserted shapes (have them set to "In Front of Text" and "Format the Object" so that the "Move with text" box is NOT clicked, so you can move the shapes around, regardless of where the cursor is on the page). First, create a circle that is the same size as whatever hoop you plant to use (5", 7", etc). Edit the circle so it has at least a 1pt line border and make sure it says "NO FILL." This will become your guide for what can fit in your hoop, if you plan to embroider only within a hoop. Using this, your image can be drawn to scale properly. Make sure this circle is set to "Move to front", so you won't lose it. If you have a lot of shapes to draw in order to make your image, draw them on a separate page. You can later "Group" them, move them into your circle (or your circle onto them) and shrink or enlarge them all at once, as needed. You can also screenshot any clipart or image you would like to use from the internet, then either Copy it into your Word document or Insert it as a Picture. If you have a lot of little shapes drawn in Word to make your image, you can also take a screenshot of those (when completed) and make them one image this way, if you don't wish to "group" them. Keep in mind that "Grouped" images can later be "Ungrouped" and edited individually, whereas screenshot cannot. However, if you have a lot of layers of shapes and some of them are too buried to be selected for Grouping, screenshots work better. .
@@threeincheshandembroidery5904 thank you so much!! I needed that information because I bought one that didn't work it was an Epson so now I will try Cannon. Thank you 🙋♀️🙂🌼🌞
Wow i didnt know you could put fabric in a printer. I wonder if it's possible to transfer a page from a coloring book.. they're double sided so idk. Maybe method 3 or 4 would work.
Hi. Just a question...can i print in a inkjek printer and later wash the washable paper? Or i need to use laser printer? I dont know if using a inkjek on washeable paper after washing gets stains of ink
@@threeincheshandembroidery5904 im sorry i meant when it's washed. Does it spread like how it happened with the ink? Thank you veryy much for noticing!
I would like to try the freezer paper. Does it work on a laser printer? I wrote something on a paper with a frixon eraser pen and the text disappeared in the printer due to the heat. (came Back when I put the paper in the freezer thou). I worry the freezer paper will melt in the printer? Thank you for all help🙂

@@threeincheshandembroidery5904 thanks. Yes I know, LOL, ☺
but what brand and model ink jet printer?
The one I used in the video is Canon TS5120. I remember it was around $100 when I bought it but it's around $300 now. You can use any inkjet printer.

What do I do if I have a larger item I want to embroider such as a kitchen or dish towel?
Very cool 😀

What about with aida cloth? Would it be the same way with that?
Wow i didnt know you could put fabric in a printer.
I wonder if it's possible to transfer a page from a coloring book.. they're double sided so idk. Maybe method 3 or 4 would work.
Scan and print on the sticky fabri solvy.
Can we use the butter paper or grease paper
The Solvy is turning some of my white thread grey. DMC thread! Have you ever experienced this? I'm using warm water, just holding it under the tap.
I printed the pattern in very thin lines so that never happened to me. It depends on the type and volume of the ink you use.
Can I use any water soluble stabilzer? Fabri-solvy is hella expensive where I live :c
I think there are several brands out there. Read the instructions first before you get it. Should be no problem.
Very helpful💒🇬🇧💕🌹
can you use embroidery cloth/ aida cloth for printing instead of normal cloth??
I don't know but it might be too thick for printer I think.
Can it be done on crochet yarn projects
Hi. Just a question...can i print in a inkjek printer and later wash the washable paper? Or i need to use laser printer? I dont know if using a inkjek on washeable paper after washing gets stains of ink
If I print on water soluble stabiliser with an inkjet printer, is the ink likely to bleed on the fabric when I wash it off?
Nope. It wouldn't. Don't worry. What you have to worry about is the floss you use. I know DMC floss won't bleed (and I'm using it)
Hello! Does the carbon paper bleed/stain the fabric
It's like you drawing the fabric with pencil. And it will stain on the fabric of you accidentally press on the paper too hard.
@@threeincheshandembroidery5904 im sorry i meant when it's washed. Does it spread like how it happened with the ink? Thank you veryy much for noticing!
I don't think it will but I haven't tried that before.
@@threeincheshandembroidery5904 okay thank you very much!!! 🤍
Where on earth do you get freezer paper? I have never even heard of such a thing. Please tell me
Amazon but I prefer sticker paper 😁
can you use normal paper and then wet it then rip it off?
Never try that but I don't suggest you do that. It's not easy to embroider on paper
I'm not sure coz I never print it with a laser printer.
What heat setting is best to iron the freezer paper?
Normally I go with "4" (from 1-5).
I just tried the watersolubel but my needle gets stuck in the glue and is really hard work compared with only fabric. Any suggestions?
You can try to wipe your needle with alcohol when it starts getting sticky.
Thank you!
You're welcome 😊
Hi, can I use a laser printer instead?
Wt was the white sheet u used
It called "Fabri Solvy"
@@threeincheshandembroidery5904 tq very much am beginner can u say wr i can get that fabric and threads and all the material need to hand embroidery.. Plzz
Hey! What is the “pattern tracing fabric” actually called? I’m having trouble finding it to buy online
Sticky Fabri-Solvy. There is a non sticky one so make sure you get the "sticky" one when you buy it.
Thanks for the great ideas
What happens when you wash your embroidered surface and the ink runs??
Hello! What is the brand name of your printer?
Hi, I just put the link into the description. Please check.
Which used clothes ?
Thank u.
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for mentioning that linen is not suitable for printing!
