Mark. Thank you a good honest review as always. Speaking of BMW, the Countryman is surely an X1 in 'drag'? [Or fancy clothing?] Too big to be a ''Mini''.... Howevr the Cooper is spot on! [That said i read the plan was to reduce the size, not increase? Cars just get bigger.] The interior is something else. But lacks proper switches for heater and AC...pity. Less screen please. And quality on lower panels. When you are spending that amount it should be ultra premium. Yes it's designer and niche and expensive. But will sell like crazy. Not least to an older generation. All that said save a load of dosh and buy the 208e. Thanks again.
I had one of the 2006 Coopers in that same colour scheme, fond memories of blasting all over Ireland in it. Have to say I like the looks of it overall, especially the interior details. Hopefully it will combine the best of fun MINI driving with the new Electric power. Any sign of the Italian Job theme tune being used for its pedestrian safety warning?
Honestly, right or wrong, the union jack taillights stopped me buying the previous model. I bought a Fiesta ST instead (a truly awful ownership experience). I know it might sound ridiculous, and I bear no ill will to our geographical neighbours, but I just couldn't own a car in Ireland which has an illuminated union jack as a motif.
The only issue I have with the f56 is that it does creak and rattle but looks great. I'm hoping this interior is more solid (Potentially cheaper materials) but if it doesnt creak the same then I can put up with it
I think the new Cooper looks good... In profile and size it`s little altered from today`s Mini and i`m sure this update will grow on people quickly BUT the interior although still obviously a "Mini" the quality seems to have taken quite a step backwards... The Countryman is a NO from me, the previous model was too big and ugly but this takes it to an all new level, sadly as most other new BMW`s have..
The 2 door S hard top is awesome! I just got the ‘24 and love it!! Traded a ‘20 countryman. What a difference in power and fun!!

Ha, great idea!

And, yes, I note that the taillight graphic can be changed on this new model. A good move, in my opinion.
Ego is a mf isn’t it
So is this a 2025 coming out in 2024? Which is it?
The inside is totally a backwards move , would rather have the previous version, another car with no physical climate controls 😮
Some parts I liked, some I didn’t.

Some strange elements in the interior design, of both cars. IMO the Countryman is the least successful looking. Just looks odd.
Hate it. All of it.
Cheap inside, ugly outside. So long Mini....
lost the essence of the mini
