Rules:
The object of the game is to be the first player to lose all their pieces. If a capture is available to you, you must take it. If you have multiple captures available to you, then you pick which one one to take. There is no check or checkmate, the King may be captured like any other piece and may expose itself to capture. You are not allowed to castle and a pawn is allowed to promote to a king. If the game ends in a stalemate because a player has no legal moves, then that player wins. The game is a draw if the players agree, you reach the 50 move rule, move repetition, or it is impossible for someone to win. - Хобби
King sacrifice is real now
Some of you may die,
But it's a sacrifice I can take.

My dad and my uncle played this as a kid, my dad said they thought that, what if u play to lose instead of win, so they made up this game they called it "got to take" because you got to take any pieces u can take, and this is like exactly how they played it. idk if they really made it up themselves, and its just a coincidence, or they heard it from their childhood and play it, but for sure is one thing, they had no internet to come up with it and definitely not this video
wow thats insane
It's a pretty simple idea, so I'm not surprised
To be fair anyone could make this up one day out of boredom
...OR DIDN'T THEY? (dooooong)
I played it as a kid as well, called it Rogue Chess. Didn't make it up though, I guess it has been around for a while
This might help a beginner to learn the moves of each piece a lot quicker i love this game idea thank you.
Unless it backfires and makes it longer which is rare but can happen
@@sanchezgildardo1128 🤣 I'm hoping this won't be the case, but i understand what you're saying.
I came up with this same chess variant 10+ years ago when my family was playing chess often. I called it Losers Chess. Definitely helped teach how pieces move and some strategies.
This is the meaning of " I can't lose if losing is my objective "
but you cant win, since winning is not your objective
@@Player-df7ny Moralic Stalemate
considering my skill at normal chess, I would be bloody fantastic at this rendition.
So that's explain the "king's gambit" of Schneizel to Lelouch. They actually played modified anti-chess

As far as I know, that line is just called Scandi Mieses-kotrc v.
What an another amazing alternate idea of chess!
I know right! Chess variants are so creative!
Is this sarcasm or...
i remember that there was a Wii game of chess (no, not Wii chess), which sort of had a bit of a campaign mode, which one was exactly *this* way of playing the game, since then i really got to like it, and now it helps to have more concise rules about it!
We used to play this in school - would have been 35 years ago. Good game for beginners and it has been computer-solved.
yeah over 130 moves in, tbh this is my favorite variant
I had a similar idea today, but requiring smarter planning. Normal Chess rules apply, with no changes or exceptions, including the following:
- Castle is allowed
- Checks and mates are in the game
- You cannot force a check on your King, and must defend it at all costs if under the check
The player who gets checkmated wins. Good luck!
did i miss the joke or did you describe chess
@@risheendab8924 kinda. The goal is to get checknated, not declare a checkmate to your opponent like you normally do.
I play losing chess when I play chess
Played this as a teenager a LONG time ago
Except we played all the normal rules of chess including castling and we could not capture the king and you won if you had only the king left (i.e. first to get down to the king won)
I love your chess variant videos. Have you ever considered or would be interested to make a video covering something like Tamerlane Chess, or perhaps other larger or older variants of the game?
this is just how they play chess at 100 elo
Yes please do some more alternates of chess

One board, 32 pieces, countless variations of game.
"half win, half loses." (a mix of losing chess and normal chess)
An idea i thought while making this comment: (not tested, just an interesting idea i've come with inspired by this):
Basic rules of chess, except combines normal chess with suicide chess. Each piece is given a system of points, and the points can go into negative values.
Each cycle of turn, the objective changes from "actively wining" like in normal chess to "actively losing" like sucide chess.
Capturing while the "normal" phase is active, adds points for pieces captured by the enemy, while the enemy looses its points by the same value.
In the second phase where this is reversed "sacrifice" phase, the rules take up similarly to losing chess, and the enemy is forced to capture pieces and the points are given in reverse (being captured gains points, capturing looses points).
One wins by having more points than the oponent. Losing a king by any player means the end of the game.
I don't know about these rules tough:
- Maybe kings can enter in their own ranges of capture, and may be both checkmated at the same time.
- Kings can enter the capturing range of any enemy piece including the enemy king. However, as long as an ally piece's movement path is in contact with the king, the king is inmune to being captured, and cannot capture any piece as well.
- Losing the king means the end of the game, regardless of any pieces left on board.
- Maybe the king does not reward any point whatsoever, it only ends the game.
- Players can choose the pawn to transform transform into kings if it reaches the side of the board, thus the game ends only when there is no king on either player's side.
- Maybe it can be choosen to keep it as a pawn, and start to go in reverse, and the player is given a choice again if it reaches the other side once again.
So the idea of this game is that players must strategize what or when is best to sacrifice a piece, or go for the enemy king, and making chess a bit more complex.
I have blurted ideas for rules tough, so i don't know if this is balanced at all (im just a very casual chess player). If anyone is interested in this, we can discuss it further and pheraps make a game out of this idea. Idk.
Sorry by my poor explanations, im not familiar with chess terms much.
I FINNALLY FOUND IT.
Context:- I used to call it "killer chess" but could not find anything online
How to play Racing King Chess Board Game
I played this but the king can still be checked but the king can't go to check.
You also can't check the king if you don't take any piece. The king also can't take any piece.
The goal is to make the opponent checkmate you. This often results into draws though.
Aha! Finally a game where I'm good at!
I played this kind of chess with my mother years ago, but you could capture at will and you win if you capture all of your opponent’s pieces.

They should make a chess game where when you take an enemy piece you switch sides and vice versa
For example if i play as white, and i take the black pawn, the board switches and im now playing as black.
The game continues until the enemy king got checkmated. No matter what color
What is that version called? I can look in to it
