  • "Coconut Cream' is a unique mango developed by Gary Zill. With a rich and sweet coconut mango flavor and no fiber, 'Coconut Cream' is a very popular variety.
In this video, find out more information on the origin of ‘Coconut Cream’, the tree and its fruit.
One correction: The seed of this variety was planted in 1992, but fruited in the late 1990's.

I actually made the mistake of buying and planting a coconut cream mango in my backyard. I had not tasted it before, just based on all the reviews. This year it produced for the first time and ... well... I don’t love it. I’m not giving up on it yet and will give it a couple more years ... we shall see...

Listen up! You cannot get them from Shamus O'leary since he ships NO PLANTS, PERIOD! But I just ordered a 3 gallon coconut cream, ice cream, and cotton candy from some place called Plant-o-gram for about 100 bucks each. I have ordered an abiu and an achacha from them in January, bot received in acceptable condition.

Another great video! I've been waiting for this one. :) Thank you very much for these videos. I hope to come taste some soon at your local. Do you have Pineapple Pleasure mangos? I have that tree in my yard as well. It does suffer from Anthracnose which is a pain.

How can the tree be vigorous and small at the same time?

Can you give me an idea of your pruning strategy for mangoes that have a tendency to weep or droop like the coconut cream? Do you prune to an outward-facing bud or maybe the bud facing more inwords/upwards to encourage upward growth? Do you prune to the growth ring or the staggered leaves? And any other tips would be wonderful regarding the coconut cream tree.
