I have a netbook with its BIOS flashed and OEM W8.1 key lost. Now Windows (I think the HDD is the same it was on the netbook before flashing BIOS) says the key is wrong or not original/not valid. If I put that key (from the installation on the HDD) back in the BIOS will it recognize it again as a valid key? Or if I copy the oem key from the BIOS of another identical motherboard and put it on this BIOS (just to avoid moving the entire motherboard -and depp understanding how this bios-key stuff works-) will this key be finally recognized has ok?
Thanks Wrong Chip, indeed an excellent video. One request, can you suggest a flashing tool for flashing the new .bin file for Dell? Phoenix SCT Flash for windows (the official flashing tool always throws an error, even with original .hdr file extracted from the original exe file from Dell site). Nothing seem to work. Please help. Thanks
You need to use a Hardware Programmer (SPI), such as (CH341A, RT809H/F or TL866). CH341A is the cheapest one, and you can use NeoProgrammer Software with it.
@@wrongchip Do you provide any paid services? If possible, kindly let me know as I am looking to update my BIOS with a new OEM key. My BIOS needs an update since I lost my OEM key about a year ago with the help of a local technician. In case you provide any paid services for this purpose, please send me your WhatsApp number.
I saw your video, I still dont undestand, the question is, to find the windows key, u should use the same offset allways? 010000000000000001000000000000001d000000 ?
Offset means Address, so don't look for same Offset because it's different from one file to another. And yes, you should use this Hex Value to find the Windows Key in your BIOS file if you already have one.
@@wrongchip I have purchased a retail key. after I update the key. The system shows that your window has been activated successfully. But after I checked the window key from Showkeyplus app. My system doesn't show my updated original key. My system still shows my old key.
@@wrongchip I have a Lenovo 320 laptop that doesn't have an OEM key embedded in it, and I have a Windows Pro key, can it be embedded in the BIOS this way?
@@codename9012 In some Lenovo laptops the DMI and Windows Key can be encrypted, so I have to check the file to see if there is an OEM Windows Key inside it or not. You can send the file on Telegram and I will check it for you. t.me/WrongChip

I don't use or prefer any software for flashing the edited BIOS, I'm always use a Hardware Programmer, such as (CH341A, RT809H/F or TL866).
@@wrongchip Thanks. Will try CH341. One more query, can we use winboard 64mb BIOS chip i place of Macronix mx25l6473e?
@@jackdaniel8269 Send the BIOS file to me on Telegram, I need to check if the Chip is mentioned in the VSCC Table or not.

May I inquire about how I can obtain a backup of my BIOS? Would you be able to suggest any applications that I could use to back up my BIOS?

I repaired my BIOS and. I already lost my OEM key. So can I find my OEM key again?
You can find it if you have the Original BIOS Backup.
@@wrongchip If I purchase a new OEM key? Can I insert the new OEM key into bios? Just like you updated?
@@JamilKhan-tt4zn I haven't tried it before, but why you need to insert it in the BIOS? You can just type it in the Windows Activation.

Yes, you can find the Windows Key in your BIOS using the same "Hex Value", even if it was an AMD based platform.
