Been watching your videos for just a while, and I really like you because I feel like you're actually talking to me as if I'm in the room with you. Kudos!
you're older than you've ever been and now you're even older. And now you're even older. And now you're even older. You're older than you've ever been and now you're even older. And now you're older still. -They Might Be Giants
I just got back to playing guitar after like 4 years and these AIC lessons are what I started again with! Thanks for the lessons and warmness. And is there a chance that you could do a separate lesson on the (unplugged version maybe?) solo? I'm kind of having a hard time playing it from tabs.
Great job brother and thanks! Yet another awesome tutorial. I was pretty far off on my acoustic take and appreciate the course correction. Keep up the great work!!
Im having trouble singing and playing to almost every song i learn. Even if it’s basic like this or a basic strumming pattern I know by heart. Can you please include in one of your guitar lessons a lesson on singing and playing
So I got a new guitar and since I have it setup for Eb tuning in going through Alice in chains songs.. anyways, at 5:14 you say you're playing the E, A, and D strings, but it sounds like an open G string to me instead of the D string. Am I wrong? Also, I know it would be way too much work, but it would be awesome if there were play lists by tuning. I know AIC aren't the only band to play songs 1/2 step down, but they are the easiest to find.
indeed good sir Tim, that idea was floated to me by our dear friend David Nutter a few years in, when the already hundreds of videos made it a prohibitively extensive task to undertake - now at 1,084 vids, I assign you this task of splitting them into tunings ;)
Greetings Ryan, really dig your videos. I'm pretty new to covers and acoustic guitars but wondering if you could do a tutorial on "Alone" from Downface?
Yeah I hope you like the song, I was turned on to it a really long time ago and thought it fit right in line with a large majority of your other tutorials, genre wise. Even if you don't want to do the tutorial on it, thought you'd at least appreciate the song.
Ryan thanks for your time and answers and great lesson i play 80's and 90's rock in an old man band for fun but my son who plays original heavy metal wants to do this cover tune with me check him out on you tube: rossgoddu also the band "Transpire "he's the guitar player take care and thanks again, Bob.
I know this is 2 years old but...Wait a minute... isn't it E A G on the bridge part where you are playing the G fragment? you said E A D but your playing E A G??
"Good God, don't tell my mom about that one"
God bless you sir!
haha. that sounds like something I would say :) Cheers Michel
I really like that you throw in a little bit of music theory in your lessons, great song and lesson!
cheers CA thanks for that :)

cheers to you U - thank you for the kind shout :)
Your Got Me Wrong video has got me revising all our AiC lessons. Superb
funny I was just thinking about this one too (and wondering how to play it hehe)
Wow a guitar lesson from Adam Jones from Tool! sweet!
what else would I do in my spare time? ;)
Back revisiting young Ryan. This is brilliant to play. Cheers

Wow, so easy. Next week I will be playing just like Jimi Hendrix.
that's what I like to hear Pasi!

it's an honor kind friend :) I'll put that on THE LIST for future consideration.
That's a really good lesson and you have a great voice too! :)
Hey thanks starch!
Yeah that Barchord is in "rooster,no excuses, got me wrong"and if I might add also it's in "sitting at the dock of the bay"by Ottis Redding.
nice catch Uncle Mat - I'm afraid I have no recollection about which chord though so I can neither confirm nor deny :)
E shape with index barring on top.
The other way to play a G,with all your fingers......
Great video man, this is the first song I learned to play in it's entirety (except the solo obviously xd)
great choice!
Cantrell is one of the best guitarists of his generation.
Absolutely!
This is my favorite AIC song. I've put learning it off for years because of the end weird part. BUT no longer!!!
it's not that bad!! :)
Great job brother and thanks! Yet another awesome tutorial. I was pretty far off on my acoustic take and appreciate the course correction. Keep up the great work!!

Cool might have to learn this one to just for fun
whatever you do, do NOT learn it for boring :P
Always very interesting!
Thank you Giuseppe!
I’ve cracked this one, thanks Ryan. How do I get round the part up at the 14th fret if I play my acoustic? I can’t get to those frets. Cheers
do the same thing on the 2nd fret :)
Great lesson! Can you please tell me what the strum pattern is for the chorus?
thanks play! try D DU UDU
Thank you!

@@cian9461 Thank you.
Dude.... Please do a lesson on Solitude by Jerry Cantrell...
“So there’s problems in your life, da da da, I’m not blind, I’m just…” 😂
:)
Jerry uses that funky bar chord in The Rooster.
good ol' Jer'
Thank you!

@@RyanLendt don't tempt me with a good time! If you have a spreadsheet with all the lessons on it, I'd totally add a column for tuning.
That one Eminem song part was sick man. ;)
I remember doing that!
Greetings Ryan, really dig your videos. I'm pretty new to covers and acoustic guitars but wondering if you could do a tutorial on "Alone" from Downface?
Hey SMB - thanks for saying hey! I've never heard that one, but that's never stopped me from putting it on the list :)

Thank you Ryan. Great tips. Is that a cheap stock Starcaster? Sounds great!
haha yes that is a $99 starcaster!
Is it stock and gig worthy?
definitely not
Ryan thanks for your time and answers and great lesson i play 80's and 90's rock in an old man band for fun but my son who plays original heavy metal wants to do this cover tune with me check him out on you tube: rossgoddu also the band "Transpire "he's the guitar player take care and thanks again, Bob.
Really cool lesson. Could play the song in under 2 hours. Thank you! Also i like your Humor and music Choice. Keep safe!
woo hoo! congrats on your effrt Alex and thank you :) you too!
Have you upgraded that Starcaster or is it stock.
haha it's a 100% stock $120 guitar
Can you please do a video on Heart Soul of the Sea ?!?!?!?!? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee💚💚
thanks for the request Leah!
Thanks for the response man and doing the doo dude (:
I know this is 2 years old but...Wait a minute... isn't it E A G on the bridge part where you are playing the G fragment? you said E A D but your playing E A G??
I'd say the safest rule of thumb would be do what I do not what I say when I misspeak :)
agree man!. because that was i noticed from the start.
You should do some steel panther songs 🤘
What tuning?!!!!!!!
Thought you were gonna throw the phone like the clipboard. Wise decision not to. 😂😂
I'm a thrower :)
The bridge part is so unconventional weird ,psychotic sounding picking pattern. IMHO
very much dissonance
What the hell is a kerbie? Damn I miss the nineties.
kermie :)
heh wat heh!
wee!!
:)
Come closer to camera
WTF are you rambling on about??? I'm out before he played a note!
price of admission was too high for him folks
Wow attention span is lacking big time. alice in chains to Eminem? get lost
I thought that was a rather helpful bridge between the two songs to demonstrate the sharp 5... but then again it was my idea so of course I did :)
