Hi, I was dating a narcissist for over twenty years. We planned on getting married or so I thought. When we first started out he said everything I to hear. But when he got me his mask came off. He was abusive but I stayed. I always left but I always came back. But last year I finally had enough. I made plans looked for a place to stay in another town and I moved away. He's 59 and I'm 51 now. He's always trying to connect with me on social media. But my life is so much better without him. It feels so good coming home to piece. Even though I'm alone I'm not lonely. I know as they age.. they hate it. Quality Supply gets harder and harder to get. So they get low value people who are just like them .. angry and bitter . They ruminate on their best supplies of their past and hate their current lives. I have seen men in their 70’s &80’s they yell insults to their wives in public . Their insecurities really come out . The mask can’t stay on . Now one thing I notice is all the addictions they have - alcohol, Sex, Gambling are very pronounced in their old age . The new supply gets tortured - threatened divorce or unliving .. and their own children distance themselves because of their bitterness . They don’t become loving , caring, and appreciative . I think their punishment is living to old age !

All true. My ex narc isn't yet 50 but because of his low self esteem he attached himself to the first thing on his path a woman closer to 60. She's definitely a downgrade from me (if I do say so myself😊) and he actually took me to court for threatening to kill them and myself 😂😮 when it was all a rage to get back at me for not reconciling with him. I had no idea he would go to those extremes. She's the same as he bc she has cheated on her own husband multiple times. Everything was dismissed. The unfortunate part is I have a child w this person. A beautiful and wonderful child who deserves so much more and I feel awful they are in this situation. This too shall pass.

He did everything he could in the last years of her life to care for her despite being treated like dirt. After she died, her attorney gave him a sealed letter to read after her passimg. It was nothing but complaints about everything she felt he'd failed at in life & their relationship. He thinks he is the whole show and superior to everyone else. He had never met a woman as smart and industrious as I am, I was able to positively improve every aspect of his life. Instead of being grateful he chose to cheat. I quietly removed my energy, blocked him and never looked back . Let them enjoy one another because I know my worth. I realized I never knew him, the mask fell off and the negative energy was stifling. I couldn’t function in a productive manner until I blocked him. I was able to remodel my whole bathroom on my own. I agree plus I recently had a sideline view to a 96 yr old malignant narcissist the last 6 years of her life before she recently passed. She became even more religious but cussed out the help because “don’t they know they work for her…she pays their salary…no is not an option”. Minutes later she would be singing hymns in the lobby looking for compliments. She had alienated all the help and all the other residents so she tried to find new people to interact with since the residents and aides avoided her. She sat alone for meals. People would scoot away if she was coming. She wanted to be told her voice was beautiful and she was still an ambassador to the world - she wanted all to know she was better then them and had maintained her figure .
However in her last months she revealed to one person “I have done a lot of good but I’ve done a lot of bad and terrible things to others too” …she owed many amends but she continued the terrible behavior nonetheless and never said “I was wrong”. She didn’t ask for forgiveness and no one gave it. She appeared very sad but “knew she’d be at Gods door soon” and he would put her in charge of heaven. I believe she choose to pass on to get out of the mental anguish she was in. She deeply hurt and harmed many many people through out life and did not clean it up or acknowledge it and she knew she had done it!! I’ve never seen anything like it and it was and is hard for me to feel I miss her because I don’t. I do hope she has found peace however.

Whatever happens - people choose their own path. Everyone is responsible for their own life (nobody else). The narcissist makes the whole world responsible but that doesn´t change the fact that he/she is responsible too. So if I did shit I always got it back (so that is just my view of the things and I know I deserved and earned it). But what I never earned (no matter what) is physical and emotional abuse - but I know I was not responsible for that. (People have issues - and sadly are very ill-minded).

Great heartfelt video. I have to pause it for a second to comment bc as you were speaking about the abusive husband who lost certain physical abilities and youth and how he still grew MORE bitter and angry with this and age (taking it out on the wife)… I hope everyone can see and get validation that there are many instances where abusive people get WORSE with age. Some haughty people mellow out or reflect on their life and choices and mature to some extent. But with a lot of abusive narcissistic people, they just get messier and worse psychologically.
We hear all the time, unfortunately, including in celebrity scandals, how previous girlfriends, or wives, thought the world of a current abuser and to the day will disbelieve any intimate partner at their later stage in life could be telling the truth about how abusive he was to her.
In fact, narcs and psychopaths will mentally manipulate you by using their past partners or the fact that they’re on good terms with all of their exes or their freakin mamas, to somehow make you think what you are DEFINITELY seeing, feeling and experiencing from them can’t possibly be real- it must just be a you problem; you must be the ONE in the world who deserves their wrath.
Take it from someone who knows. An abusive husband can still kill you in your 80s… literally. 😔 Please get out, people.

It's interesting theme. I mean about the end of the life for such people.
For last year i was recollecting my memories about grandfather and grandmother. when I was young, I didn't notice many things, that looks strange now. Yes, there was something back those days. something different from our family, but I couldn't point my finger on anything, or ask a question. First of all, my mother was his favourite daughter and I was favourite grandson. I lived almost a year at grandparents home. My grandfather always asked my mom to see me more often. I loved my grandfather, he told me a lot of interesting stuff about cinematography and photography (he was a photographer at local cinema studio for many years). Same time, there was no such enthusiasm about my young brother from GF.
Grandparents was living in separate rooms. GF was spending most of the time reading newspaper, watching TV or sleeping. Granny did all the homework and she was more like a servant to GF. There was not much of arguing between the (at least in front of me). few times maybe. But once a GF was real in rage mod. I don't remember what i did wrong back then, but it was like something... terrifying. First it was rage from him, and after he guilt trip me. And granny was like "listen what he said!" She was on his side. It was long evening. He was angry hours and hours... and next morning he was nice again, like nothing happened.
I don't know, was he a narcissist or not. But there was much more of things and stuff. a lot more. For example, i remember, that granny was always WRONG. I mean, everything she did he always told her that "she did it wrong". sometimes openly, most time in passive-agressive way.
He died one night. Not alone, granny was sleeping next room and blamed herself. And for years after she always repeated, that it was her fault.

I was with my narcissist husband in the end where he refused to believe he was dying even though he was constantly on a large hospital breathing device keeping him alive due to his lung cancer. He arrogantly asked his group of doctors who had gathered at his bedside, “Are you gonna just let me lie here and die?”. It was only at the very last moments of his life when he was undecided about whether to die taking morphine, or not, he decided to take the morphine to ease the process. His two daughters and I cared for him as an adjuncts to his doctors but we were basically treated as servants by him. Still I am glad that we showed love even though he was incapable of really being there for us emotionally. It was a long 47 year marriage and it has taken me years to recover from the emotional abuse. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

I believe that my husband of 7 years is an undiagnosed narcissistic alcoholic, and for the last year when we’ve gotten in an argument, I’ve threatened divorce. I’ve even had a couple months that I stayed with a friend and came back after he begged me to come home, now that we have a 3-year-old and just bought a new house 3 weeks ago we got into an argument, and he suddenly wants a divorce. We’ve never done marriage counseling and he mentioned before that he wanted to, so I’ve talked him into doing marriage counseling before we just end everything! Last night he admitted to me that he thinks he has a sex addiction because he’s been seeing prostitutes for the past couple of weeks and he said he thinks he has a problem and we’re going to do marriage counseling and he might even do some of his own therapy and counseling, so I’m not sure if I should give this a chance to see if he can change the way that you have changed even though he is verbally, emotionally, mentally and physically abusive. It sounds like you have changed as a person and started a channel to help people. I guess I’m trying to hold everything together for our 3 year-old and because we just bought a new house less than a month ago,

Only found out last month that my BF was a narcissist. When I think back, it was nice in the beginning, then all of a sudden he got really insulting at me, finding fault at everything. Talking down to me and feels he is always right, snobbish, he would diss me, no apology, no empathy, he seem not to care. I found out he was from one woman to the other, visitors to the island would hook up with him for sex and would give him money. When they depart, he would be on to someone else whether Foreign or local. He can't seem to e alone and he is rather restless. Like to be the center of attention. One day I insulted him and it made him sad with his fragile ego. But he is from woman to woman on a daily basis. I read up and realized he had every trait of a narcissist. I let him know that I knew what he was doing. He doesn't play an part I his familys life. He doesn't connect with his mother, his children or grandchildren. He dont remember none of they Bdays. He doesnt know which school his grand kids attend. It's very sad that a person can be like this. Also the word gigolo describes his behavior. He always wanted something from me or want me pick up something for him. These narcissist dont care, they just live from day to day pretending and trying to score with the women in return for gifts etc. They dont even know that they are narcissist. They world is a fake reality and they operate at a low level of consciousness. Karma takes care of them.
