For me, Neca wins in paint and price, but the Monsterarts of course is the king of sculpt and articulation. If you want a sort of accurate Shin with amazing detail, I suggest MonsterArts. But if you just want a Shin figure, with good articulation and paint, get the NECA. I just love the paint applications applied to it, they're great
I feel like with the shin kind of like the 2014 figure you have to hope you get lucky if you want a decent looking paint job on the monster art luckily my shin doesn't look horrible and is way better than Steve's thankfully

I honestly prefer the neca. I don't think that either of them really captured shin, but at least the paint applications on the neca are decent. Looks much better on the shelf
I think the SHMA has better shelf presence, and I think the SHMA captures it a bit better, but blow by blow the NECA is just the better figure. I'm not denying that.
I agree i like neca 2019 figure because is identical from the movie godzilla ,shma have only orrible scolpt in 2019goji the head is not identical to the siga model from the film neca wins

It was a fair fight! Loving these videos. I prefer the MonsterArts, but the NECA is rather cool too.
I think the SHMA should've gotten the size point, though, if only because it towers over the other Godzillas, whereas the NECA is the same size as the rest. But a tie works for me.
Glad to hear you like them! To the point of size, I don't think I was clear enough. Yes, Shin is super big, but at the same time a good amount of collectors want their Godzillas to be the same size -- all the shoulders lining up, being 6" tall. However, others *want* a behemoth of a Shin. So... which is better? How do you determine which is the better size? One that follows the precedent, the NECA, or one that follows closeish to true scale, the SHMA?
Steven's Toy Reviews I am personally true scale, but you made a good point. NECA Shin is easy to display side-by-side with other figures.
@@StevensToyReviews* it’s too bad about the paint. the s.h. one lacks paint, but the neca one almost looks over exaggerated, as if every single wrinkle is active intense bleeding.
Personally i prefer the monsterarts purely because of the mouth and the tail, which are absolutely heinous on the neca and is well sculped and posable on the monsterarts
It wasn't even a fight, both of them just bled out to death!

In my opinion NECA needs 3 things to suprass Monsterarts
1-Articulation
The articulation in the neca is ok but compared to monsterarts uhh like the tail,body, and chest
2-Sculpture
Is ok too they need to increase the size
3-Detail
The detail is alrighty they need to improove:
1-teeth (ex:Shin)
2-spines (ex:54goji)
Sh monsterarts shins teeth suck too.

I got the Neca when it first came out, and I was happy and certainly eager to get rid of it as soon as I could and I’m very happy to have waited to get the Night Battle re-release of the SH Monsterarts.
Never thought I would ever call you my favorite action figure review channel.
Neca's figure stinks... You never mentioned the flaw in the tail. Its a big lump in the tail that kills good articulation and its just ugly. And shin godzilla never had the red thing connecting the top jaw to the bottom jaw. And even if he did have that, his jaw would'nt be able to unhinge. S.H.Monsterarts may lack red paint and might cost a lot but its still better. Its that expensive because its something thats supposed to be displayed and used for stop motion AND SUPPOSED TO ACTUALLY LOOK COOL. While Neca's is supposed to be a little kids toy THAT REALLY LOOKS UGLY. I'm just trying to state the fact that S.H.Monsterarts is better.
Even though Neca's figures are a little stiff I think thats better than being loose and joints that pop off.

Actually i think SHMA shin’s non-closing jaw is pretty accurate if you check the poster you or most of the scense you can see shin doesnt close his mouth so i think its kinda accurate?

It's not about size, color, or how it moves. It's about the detail. Neca is a really bad figure and it's head is flatend out and imagine what shin would look like if his head was flatend out in the movie
I know but the 2019necagoji is identical to the siga model soo for me neca is better but this is my opinion

why not separate the Sculpt and Paint into two Rounds?
They're too similar and both contribute to the same idea, how the figure looks. If one fails, the other probably will, too. The SHMA is a pretty clear example.
Have the results changed with the Night Combat ver of the Monsterarts?
Also, my copy of Neca Shin is so much worse than this one lol. The "ball joints" at the head and neck are so tight they're basically just swivels, the left arm can BARELY rotate, and both the knees are permanently stuck.

@@StevensToyReviews It's legit alright, packaging and everything was 100% official. Bought it at a Target. As for the heat, I haven't tried that yet. I'll make sure to in the near future though!

I would say this was a tie because, the sh ma has fleshy detail on the back, literally, but the neca has more red on the body. But I will still say the neca won fair and square.
Neca feels too light and cheap, their xenomorphs break so easily so Im not sure how their godzilla line holds up but I prefer SHMA

You get the mold of the face on the tail on the neca, but it is hard to see

If it weren't for the tail I'd never even consider the Monster Arts version, but that tail despite it's deficiency just does it for me.

Man, this video really highlights how HORRIBLE the paint decals on the SH Shin are. It's so unpainted or just painted over with one color, it looks like a bad vinyl.

Personally I prefer the S.H. MonsterArts Shin Godzilla because it has a more accurate sculpt and despite the HORRENDOUS paint on the body it has a better paint scheme that the Neca and a MUCH better tail
This might just be me being biased because my Neca Shin came with a slightly bent up face and the legs were wonky despite me trying to fix them
Sh monsterarts's design looks better then neca's design the SH monsterarts looks movie accurate and neca looks weird not gonna lie
