Lol
Sans because the figure is 1954 goji lol
I get it thanks Mechagodzilla 2020
Ok godzilla 1954 theme start now
Have fun reviewing that 2019 Ghidorah with that wingspan
"this is not about accuracy to the source material.."
After hearing that, I thought to myself: hmmmm isn't that the main point why we collect these figures in the first place? LOL
Yeah i tough the same, the guy is just biased towards neca 90% of the time
yeah he kind of lost all credibility there
On his gmk video,he replied to a comment about necas gills being realistic,he said "but its not accurate to the suit".
Busted?
@@corruptpixel8441 except he said he preferred monsterarts, wtf are you talking about....
Love how he didn’t mention the accessories because none of them had them.

Gojira VER 2: hold my destoyed Tokyo
Lol the 1954 one from neca has the atomic breath

The 1956 version did
The monsterarts kinda looks like the 55, raids again Godzilla, when the mouth is closed. Not exactly but really close. I seen both side to side at a comics shop and I can see why you like the monsterarts more. I don't have a raids again Godzilla yet and I am thinking about buying him from a guy that I met at the comic shop. He has to sell everything cause his wife said either Godzilla or her. He said that he talked her into keeping a few to go on his computer desk but that's all. I might get 3 figures for doing some plumbing pipe work in areas of his house and I am kinda hurting myself because I would have to buy the pipe and the job would normally cost just under a thousand but I am helping out a few good people and getting myself some awesome figures. Making a new friend is another plus. :)
That marriage won't last with demands like that
@spartanxdarth201 yeah, you were right. She is already married with someone else and that guy always looks unhappy in pictures. I ended up getting some figures from him and I ended up giving them back to him. He was so happy to have them back in his collection. It was so worth it to see him smiling.
For collectors, it's obviously the Bandai S.H. Monster Arts figure. For people who like to play with their figures, such as myself? NECA.
I would have given the S.H. MonsterArts the point for sculpt and paint applications. The dry brushing breaks up some of the monotony to the plastic he was casted in. The sculpt definitely matches the suit better, which for some collectors is a deal breaker. For me, since I use these figures for drawing reference, accuracy means a lot.
I own both of these figures, and while the NECA figure is good, I found myself gravitating more to the S.H.MonsterArts for scale. He matches well with my other figures, including vinyls.
Well, looks like the next figure fight will be between the two Godzilla 1962 figures. I have a feeling that NECA will win again, despite the upsides to the S.H. MonsterArts.
Accuracy is definitely key when using figures for drawing. Just bought my S.H.Monsterarts 1954. Basically my wallet is nill now but hopefully it’ll be worth it.
It's nails aren't painted, it's quite sloppily applied and isn't as accurate as the neca.
@@eoinbrown6646 Wrong I had the neca and had the monsterarts, the nails and toes are painted as they should be, it's accurate to the suit itself, in various poses it looks very much like 1954 no matter what I pose it in, it has the sculpt down to a t, yuji Sakai of course being the master sculptor he is is thanks to that
Neca is more accurate to the movie, even the so called "worse painting" is actually perfectly in line with the movie wich is why i prefer the neca version over sh.
@Krystian Zięba2004 The comment is three years old. I never said, "worse painting," and I'm not sure if anyone ever did, so I'm not sure who you're quoting here. If you like the NECA figure more, that's cool. I still like the S.H. MonsterArts quite a bit more three years later.
sh monstersarts kinda looks like the 1955
Yeah! I definitely agree. The extended limbs and thinner body really make it look less like ShodaiGoji and more like GyakushuGoji.
I Agree
@@GIGALADZ91101 I agree too
@@GIGALADZ91101 agreed
@@GIGALADZ91101 true true true that is why I keep calling him 55
next time I want it to be burning Godzilla
you forgot that the NECA spines are badly painted
Aside from some of the QC issues that Monsterarts has suffered, I absolutely love both companies for their contributions. That having been said, thanks for the fun, fabulous and entertaining video!
I think that the S.H. Monsterarts should have won the scale department because the 1954 Godzilla is 164 feet tall where the heisei Godzilla is about 300 feet tall so he scales very well with the other kaijus.
Amazing! I was waiting for another one of these!
I missed it damn. The KoTM panel was happening
It was right after
Steven's Toy Reviews lots of reveals and the delay of info.
The Best review man, and the best custom Godzilla toy maker. Sounds legit
I love this series!!! I hope you keep doing these figure fights!!!
The Sh monsterarts looks like The 1955 one to me
Same
I would have given S.H. MonsterArts the point for sculpt and paint applications.
The paint definitely should have gone to shma, the neca is blue, which is.. not accurate to say the least, and it's spines look like they took two seconds to paint, they are literally just white with black CIRCLES in the center of each spine. Also the shading on the shma is really good, and in the actual movie his nails were the same color as his skin sooo, shma is way more accurate in both sculpt AND paint.
@@tiernanmcculloch There were several different suits used in the film.. There really isn't a more accurate Godzilla (1954) figure... But there is most certainly a better figure!
@@switchboard1551 There was only two suits used in Godzilla (1954): The original suit and the actual screen used suit. The original suit that was designed was used only in one shot, the screen used suit was used for pretty much the vast majority of the shots of the suit. The movie had props from the chest up as well as a prop worn to do close up shots for the feet, which was the waist down.
@@ninelie2996 There were more than 2 suits. And yes. I am aware that there were different props used for certain sections throughout the body.
Switch Board If you are referring to GxMG, that was a prop and CGI.
If you are referring to the latest suit, that is a suit.
The Original Film had 2 suits, 2 puppets, and 1 prop.
How do i put the tail on the neca once, it's impossible to put in on!
Finally ive been waiting since figure fight 2!
Next figure fight should be NECA Godzilla 2014 and SHMA Godzilla 2014
finally yes
Neca would destroy sh monsterarts
@@subducks5521
You kidding?
I got both of them
MonsterArts has a way better sculpt, way better articulation, and much better paint versus Neca's near lack thereof on '14.
If we were talking about the 24 inch, maybe.
But 12 inch versus MonsterArts '14?
MonsterArts no contest.
@@TVJUNK85 I think they are talking about movie accurate and durability which Neca absolutely destroys monsterarts 2014

I purchased the monsterarts 54 I'm very happy with it, the neca 54 is good too. My buddy has it and we did a comparison both good figures. I do own more monsterarts but am very pumped for the neca 1989 release(first neca purchase).
Hey Mr. Steven! I have a question about my S.h. Monsterarts Godzilla 2000 millennium special color version. Every time I’ve bought one, there’s something very wrong with it besides the fist one, but someone in my family lost parts of it. Could you please tell me how to fix the jaw to them and fix the lower knees?
also where do you get the miniature buildings?
edited: also the explosions and dust stuff
max swing he makes it with homemade materials to make the buildings or sometimes he gets the buildings from other toys
And for the explosions and dust he gets S.H. monster arts figures that include explosions and dust
It isn’t homade you can find them on eBay by eyepop designs or I think there are some from SHMA
Oh yeah, my favourite figure, the NECA 1954 is the best because it took the real look of the original suit. Next year I wanna buy both NECA and SHMA Godzilla 2019 and only one NECA Godzilla 1962 because the SHMA is derpy.
I bought the Neca way before I got the Monster Arts, and I have to say, after getting the Monsterarts, I never looked at the Neca one again.
The sculpt is just so detailed and the articulation allows so many poses that capture the film perfectly.
The worse I can say about it is A) lack of claw paint (but, coming from a Black and White movie, that's not really a big deal) and B) looks a little derpy with the eyes at a few angles (but again, coming from the '54 design where that is very much the case, not a big deal). In fact, one of my biggest complaints about the Neca figure is the lack of the downward facing eyes. That's a hallmark of the 1954 suit. Why "correct" them?
Neca may always have price going for it, but MonsterArts puts that price tag to good use with such a higher quality in sculpt and articulation. It just looks amazing.
And honestly, I appreciate the smaller size. The Neca one isn't 6 inches tall; it's 7. It's honestly too big for sizing up to other figures. Meanwhile, the MonsterArts fits up nicely with the Revoltech Showa line and, while not in the same uniform size as the other Godzillas in the line, still looks nice standing next to the likes of the MonsterArts Heisei and Millennium designs. By comparison, the Neca figure towers over all but Shin and Earth. It's 7 inch stature throws it completely off.
I honestly wish NECA would increase the prices on their Goji figures and start producing more competitive prices. I appreciate the value of the $20-ish price point but the detail and articulation of the monsterarts line make NECA something of a fallback. I only look to NECA if a monsterarts figure is a) overpriced (i.e. the King Kong vs. Godzilla figure) or unavailable due for any number of reasons. I can't help but think that by simply increasing the retail price to say $40 NECA's Godzilla line could prove much more competitive. With all that said it is entirely possible that contractual restrictions are to blame for the state of things.
Well Neca is now stepping their game up, the new 2019 models are amazing. Not as good as S.H but its better than before I would rather get the Neca 2019 figures if you want a cheaper price except for Rodan because I only see articulation in the wings but the model is great. I believe that the tails are even better more articulation and no more bendy wire, have you seen the 1974 Godzilla?!
There are some neca figures I'd say are miles better than sh counterparts (62 goji shin goji) I collect both lines and sometimes I just like the look more of neca
@@sugafree907 62 Fuck no Sh monsterarts looks far more accurate.
@@jxsdf1523 for most yeah ima agree but mostly with the 62 godzilla I prefer the neca the sh has better color and hands but the head looks so small
Me personally between the two, easily the monsterarts however the neca is still a very good figure overall. Can u do neca vs monsterarts burning or legendary next
6:35 moving on down *LEGS*
Unfortunately when I bought a Neca ‘54 a while back, its dorsal fins were coming off, I got two left feet (got a replacement foot), but also the articulation was VERY stiff. Has anyone else dealt with this problem?
S.H.MONSTERARTS is way better for me 1. Looks way better then neca 2. The tail is great 3.looks more like in the film 4. prize doesnt matter 5. It looks more cooler
I think the neca is more accurate to the film cause it looks like a guy in a suit, while shma tries to make the figures look realistic. Also the price of the figure matters, if I were going to buy a figure in the 90 - 300th price range I should be expecting perfection, the shma looks amazing don’t get me wrong but the ball joints fall too easy and their quality control isn’t exactly the best. My kiryu Godzilla has 2 left arms. Also accessories, the shma 54 doesn’t have any accessories which sucks considering it’s 100 bucks, but neca has the atomic breath part which costs less than 40$
Personally I prefer the SH Monsterarts for the sculpt and potability, though I think the qc issues are pretty bad
Oh and the I can't stand the dorsal plates of the NECA

Do you have plans on making a Figure Fight of NECA's Godzilla (2014) and S.H. MonsterArts Godzilla (2014)?
These episodes should be of *close* battles, not an absolute landslide victory in Neca's favor lmao
I think S.H. Monsters goes overboard with the articulation
I know some people like more articulation but it’s not a selling point for me. The NECA figures articulate about as much as the actually suits did lol. I don’t need Godzilla to contort in ways he never actually did on screen. 🤷♂️
PLEASE KEEP DOING THIS SERIES!!!!

how about the neca 1962goji vs s.h monsterarts version
Neca Godzilla figures at my Walmart is between $30-$40.
man I remembered buying the Neca 2014 and 1994 for $18.99.
and then I spent over $30 for the 1954.
i think pricing has changed a lot like neca goji figures aren't made anymore so now they're pricy
How did u get those buildings
Love your reviews!! I shop several companies for my collection. Neca being my main one. But also side show, mezco, and sh monsterarts and sh figuarts. But when it comes to my godzilla yes Sh monsterarts. All though I do have the neca return of godzilla ultimate edition and they nailed it.
Fun Fact: The final clay model for ShodaiGoji emulated crocodile skin. And either coincidental or intentional, the skin resembled the radiation burns of Hiroshima and Nagasaki survivors.
This might be a hot take but the NECA head sculpt is way better
if neca made the kiryus it would suck
0:00 what’s that Godzilla figure?
Yo creo que es de las pocas figuras que de Godzilla que Neca le gana a SH Monsterarts ya que como Sh monsterarts tiene muchas articulaciones lo hacen ver muy flaco
I would’ve wanted sh monsterarts because the sculpted probably did his best to show what the 1954 would’ve truly looked like in the movie. But fair play to neca
Screen accurate approach
Do more figure fight
I liked the Neca
We need more!
neca s head shape looks like a godzilla from a different showa movie so its better also monster arts head its not sculpted correctly is steven blind'
I have 1954 neca one
id love the shma more if it had non black and white paint and if it was much bigger (7-8 inch scale)

@@StevensToyReviews Oh shoot didn't expect ya to reply!
Hope you're doing well!
I've been watching ur vids for a long while- this one just frustrated me (of course in a non-serious sports fan sorta way) because I thought that the Monsterarts should've won.
Part of me always looked at the NECA and thought the paint on it looked super cheap and weakened the value of the figure, and that the more subtle application on the Monsterarts did it a lot more favors.
That being said, still a great video! Looking forward to future content- plus you actually motivated my most recent figure purchase so I definitely have that to thank you for!
Also- quick sidenote. Have you seen some of the display pictures of the new Monsterarts Godzilla 2021? It definitely doesn't inspire confidence for me, especially compared to how good the 2019 figure looked, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
I like the Neca, but the Dorsal plate paintjob could be better.
If you want a more like cartoonish figure go for neca if you want a one that looks black and white go for monster arts
Honestly the NECA wins on that, by a little . this is because i know my neca figures, but the only thing that seemed strange, its how big his head is, the other godzillas have small heads comared to their bodies, other than that neca is perfect
I did the poll and shma had "54 percent
Can’t wait for neca to make ghidorah cuz I’m not interested in the figuarts line
I love neca
like the videos but articulation is not fair to neca they are legally mandated to be far less than monsterarts due to the licence they got from toho. But neca always wins on price. That licence also says no ghidora from neca unless a new deal happens.
Ha, thanks for the laugh
There is a new version that includes an atomic breath for the 1954
Yes. Well known.
Im biased towards NECA because thats where I get my godzilla figures from, though I do own one SHM. With that said, this particular Godzilla being hyper articulated and able to achieve all those great dynamic poses, doesnt really matter. From what I understand the original suit used in the movie could barely even move. You can probably recreate the pose from every scene in that movie just fine with NECA's level of articulation...So even with SMH getting the point over NECA in the articulation department, its hard to call that a win.
I just got my 54 Neca, which now comes with a better paint app and fire blast effect.. I’m really not impressed with the SH figure for the main reason being movie accuracy. The possible poses with the SH are impressive but I can’t think of any time I’m going to demand my 54 goji perform a roundhouse kick 🤷♂️. I love my Neca figure.
I kinda like the neca one beacuse shma one dosent look like a showa godzilla it kinda looks like heisei
I like the Godzilla (1954)
Would you prefer a solid tail over a bendy wire tail? NECA's Godzilla figures tails seem to break quite often.
