Well conserning the three points you made out about the prophecy I think that many people curcify snape for this yes he is guilty of delivering it and by the same time putting a target on the potters but it also not to be forget that James and Lily mark themselves for death simply for being order members and we were said that half of the order died before the end of the war if snape didn't give the prophecy it would have landed in the department of misteries where Rookwood could have informed Voldemort or not in any case the war would have continued longer and order members would be killed even more and Peter would have still betryed his friends so they still had a sword on their through
Book readers turning on Snape after the sixth books makes a lot of sense. In the book, Snape doesn't have anywhere near as many redeeming qualities as he does in the films. So book readers wouldn't give him the time of day. So his redemption probably meant a lot more in the books.
I was very conflicted after reading the sixth book. I couldn't see how Snape could be good after what he did, but I hated the idea that Dumbledore might have been wrong about him.
@@kalekain3521 Yup and his antagonistic behaviour wasn't reserved for Harry, Ron and Hermione. He very often behaved that way towards other students (especially Griffindors) with regards to Quidditch, almost literally allowing his players to get away with attacking other team members. Snape may have loved Lily a great deal, but ultimately, she's the only person he ever loved. Snape was an outcast all his life and that shows in his behaviour towards pretty much everyone else, he still holds on to all that hate and anger from his past.
Crouch Jr: "I played my part so well as Moody, they had no idea. I even trained the students how to defend against the unforgivable curses!" Voldemort: "... Wait.... You did WHAT!?"
@djspark191 Aye!! Now that's pretty clever, i hadn't thought of that. But that does have me asking the question. Would other Deatheaters need to know how to defend them from attacks by other deatheaters? Because "honorable" witches and wizards don't use those curses. So they wouldnt need to defend against those in a battle with their typical enemies right?
About Ginny in HBP: she spent so much time with Harry in summer after Sirius's death and gave him emotional support, she tried to reason with Ron and defend her right to be in relationship with Dean, she won the Quidditch Cup, she agreed to be Harry's girlfriend when he "asked" her, she fought against Death Eaters to protect the school, she supported Harry after Dumbledore's death, she understood Harry's intentions when he decided to break up with her. She is my favorite character in 6th book. But still, I think that some other characters could also be named as best ones, especially Dumbledore.
Love the points stated in this comment! Definitely true that other characters could be considered the best in not only HBP, but most of the series. I'm biased towards Ginny personally, since she clocks in as my second favorite character in the series behind Neville, especially once I finally read the books, but we can't say she doesn't earn it im this book. Another great moment that wasn't listed here had to be the Bat Bogey Hex bit on the Hogwarts Express that gets her into the Slug Club.
Imo, not only is Lupin best character in PoA but he’s up there as one of the best in the series. Imo he was Harry’s first real father figure. Someone who knew his parents really well and was always there for him.
I personally disagree, I think Hermionie should have a spot on this list after saving Harry in so many ways. (Just my opinion please don’t bite my head off)
Lupin was definitely the best character until the Deathly Hallows where he abandons his child. I think he was a better father figure than Sirius tbh as he was always so selfish in the OOTP.
@@Aks_12_4 to be honest he did abandon his child in the deathly hallows, I still like him and he tried to do what was right but I personally don’t think you should ever abandon your child.
@@Aks_12_4 He left Teddy (his child) and Tonks. He abandoned both of them sort of. Because he thought he gave his werewolf abilities to his son. Tonks and Remus did not abandon their child Remus abandoned both. I still like him tho. Don’t hate on other people. And don’t attack me now for telling the truth. And I think you should never abandon your child. N . E. V . E . R .
The worst part about Fudge is that all the signs were there when we first meet him (third book, after Harry inflates his aunt Marge). Harry asks why he isn't being punished for using magic (this time it was both him and deliberate, unlike in the second book, where Dobby was the one who performed it) and Fudge just immediately backpedals because he doesn't want to be known for expelling the Boy who Lived. Ron even makes a comment that if it had been him, they would've had to dig him up to put him on trial because his mother would have killed him. And then when Order of the Phoenix rolls around (at this point, Fudge has spent the entirety of the summer slandering Harry in The Daily Prophet), he deliberately changes the trial time in the hopes that Harry and Dumbledore will miss the trial, thereby being found guilty in absence. Arthur even implies that those rooms hadn't been used since the First Wizarding War, where they held trials for Death Eaters. Dumbledore also comments on the absurdity of using those rooms for a simple case of underage magic. Finally, after the witness testimony from Mrs. Figg, he tries to bring up Harry's past uses of magic, one of which he deliberately pardoned (his exact words were "He blew up his aunt, for God's sake!", playing it off like it was some huge catastrophe) and the other of which had another witness who was readily available to testify (and Fudge immediately backpedals on this point as well, saying he "doesn't have time to listen to House Elves"). The man literally didn't have a leg to stand on and he still pushed for a guilty verdict as hard as he could. But one thing we can say for Fudge is that despite all his politicking and denial, he still upheld the law. The same cannot be said for Umbridge, who unleashed Dementors on Harry without the Ministry's authorization or knowledge, not caring about collateral damage (Dudley Dursley almost had his soul stolen and would have had no way to protect himself if not for Harry) and was fully prepared to use the Cruciatus Curse on students in order to force a confession out of them (her exact words in response to being told it was illegal were "What Cornelius doesn't know won't hurt him."). Fudge was scum, for sure, but Umbridge absolutely deserved the spot. It's absolutely baffling (and tragically, very real) that she still had a job after year 5, given her actions.
Despite only turning up in the fifth movie/book, Luna Lovegood is the best, most iconic character. She thought me how to embrace my weirdness, and to always be true to myself. 💙
@DriverHenryWho3245 the original comment above meant hat luna didn't arrive in the series until the 5th book, not that she was only in the 5th book. Certainly a good character 👍
One could argue for Lucius Malfoy for being the worst in Chamber of Secrets. Think about it, he had Tom Riddle's diary, only knowing that it would open the Chamber of Secrets and therefore, lead to the deaths of many Muggle-Borns, planting it with Ginny, the daughter of his arch rival, Arthur Weasley. And there's the fact that he tried to discredit Arthur publicly through his comments in the Daily Prophet and he even tried sacking Dumbledore from being Headmaster at Hogwarts.
@@Crafty_boy70you beat me to it! I just watched movie 2 and couldn't believe how he started to cast the killing spell at Harry, I missed that when I was younger
@@Ori_Kohav That wasn't so much "improvising" as not doing his homework. He hadn't read the books and didn't know any spells, just knew that Avada Kedavra was one. He didn't know what it was supposed to do, or that Lucius would never have dared use it in that situation.
I LOVE that you put luna as the best in OotP and Neville in DH because when I saw the notification that you made this video they were the first two that came to mind for those books! They seriously don’t get the recognition they deserve
I'd like to make a couple of honorary mentions: 4th book baddest, barty crouch senior, since his extreme actions and negligance lead to just about every bad thing happening in that book. also, 7th book best: dobby, since not only did he always support and help harry, but when harry and the gang were in the worst situation, without any means of escape, he fought through his trauma and fear to go back to the house he hated and save harry and the others, giving his life in the effort.
@@Sonablue-goldeyeIt's like the applied encyclopedia Maybe most modern theories are way too far fetched, but it's interesting seeing the canon facts that they base off. And recently, I learned from them that the ring was the first horcrux, and not the diary, which makes total sense as well.
Although it looks like she could write something as bad as the cursed child, that book has way too much bullshit for it to be Rita's creation. She doesn't have enough skill in the art of absolute dogshit
In Half Blood prince, I would argue that Young Tom Riddle (voldemort) was also one of the best characters of the series, so mysterious, so charming, good student, handsome, Slug Club member etc
People are gonna say Umbridge is the "worst" character in Order Of The Phoenix, but I actually think she's the best character in the book, when it comes to crafting a really great villain. You're supposed to hate her.
I know I’ve asked this a million times but I think it would be interesting if you made a video about what the hunger games characters boggarts would be and a video of what they would see in the mirror of Erised. Yk with the new book coming out and all I think hg content will be very popular ❤
This would also be a great time to finally do the Hunger Games book vs movie differences series which I’m sure so many of us have been wanting ever since he did the HP one!
[Sees thumbnail & title] Me: I bet Umbridge will be the “worst” for Order of the Phoenix, Lockhart will be the “worst” for Chamber of Secrets, and Draco will get the title for at least one book. Also… expecting possibly Wormtail and Rita Skeeter to appear. [Watches video] Me: Well I do hope someone picks up a phone… because I called it.
Another thing to add about Snape, right at the start of the school year, he removes 70 points from Gryffindor for Harry being late and for wearing a muggle attire. He didn’t even try to hear Harry out, he conveniently ignored the fact that Harry was bleeding, and removing THAT many points for those reasons is beyond ridiculous, not to mention letting Malfoy get away with another terrible act. and that’s of course if we only filter to HBP. In PoA and GoF, he does some very outrageous things that teachers in real life would get fired for.
One of my friends says that Luna is her all-time favorite Harry Potter character. She made an observation about Luna that has stuck with me forever. She said that Luna is Harry's friend just to be his friend. She doesn't want anything from him, she's just his friend. And yeah, Luna's just awesome. She's unapologetically herself 100% of the time. We find out that she is aware of what other people think of her but she doesn't let it get her down. I love her last conversation with Harry in book 5. She is not angry about people taking her stuff. She's just like, it's all in fun, but, as it is the last day, I really do need them back. Luna is frank about her mother. "Yes, it was rather horrible. I still get very sad about it, sometimes. But, I've still got Dad, and it's not like I'll never see her, again." Again, unapologetically vulnerable and still able to have hope and keep going. That's what Harry needed, I think. And her Quiddich match hats along with her announcing a quiddich match in the 6th book, getting bored and talking about interesting shaped clouds is priceless! I appreciate you openness about your struggles with mental health and engaging in therapy, Morgan. I'm so glad you've found someone you can bring your struggles to. Mad respect for all the hard work you're doing with all that!
I would almost put Fudge and Umbridge as a tie for book 5 and say Rita was the worse in 4, but then i remembered he brought a dementor into the school, when he was told they had Crouch apprehended. Like seriously, the one time Fudge doesn’t listen to Dumbledore, the one death eater involved with the plan gets his soul sucked out. Though I have a feeling he did it so he could deny Voldemort’s return
I’d also say McClaggen for book 6 as the worse, only because Umbridge appears for the funeral, and she was still nervous around the centaurs. However I did hate her in book 7
One thing I love about Luna is how she isn’t afraid to be herself. She doesn’t care if she gets picked on and called looney Lovegood she is always true to herself and there i agree she is the best character in the order of the phoenix
Totally agree ! She is the best character of all time, so pure, so sweet, and she never gets a real apology for everything the main characters said to her
I have to be honest, Matthew Lewis WAS Neville for me. He did a great job in the role, especially in OotP (He's one of the reasons it's the movie I revisit the most) While I agree some characters were not done justice on the films (Ron and Ginny being the worst offenders to me, but I don't place the blame on Rupert or Bonnie) I can't see anyone else playing Neville Longbottom
@@captainawesomesplayground5403 They were so cute together, and their chemistry was amazing. It's too bad they butchered their relationship in the movies.
Lockhart is such an underrated villain in the series mostly due to his lack of connection to the Death Eaters. Because of this, coupled with his portrayal in the films, and most people tend to think of him as a silly side character. This dude tracked down some of the most accomplished people of his time, many of whom are likely still actively defending their villages and people, and he effectively destroyed them for personal gain. He didn't do it for a cause or for some since of twisted righteousness. It was all self serving. Lockhart is more of a predator than a antagonist. His only saving grace was his utter incompetence at most branches of magic which essentially nerfed him. Had he been slightly more competent, he would have been extremely dangerous.
I don't think I would call Lockhart evil for everything though. He had an evil moment in CoS for sure, but I felt that he was mainly a fraud. He's a pretty despicable person no doubt but I wouldn't call him evil when you compare him to many of the actually evil characters we see throughout the series (countless death eaters and Voldemort himself and Umbridge). I guess his story just goes to teach the readers that it's important to deserve credit rather than take away someone else's.
In my opinion, the worst character in the Chamber of Secrets was Lucius Malfoy, mainly because he practically caused everything that happened. From slipping Tom Riddle’s dairy to Ginny Weasley, thus allowing his spirit to hypnotize her into petrifying all the Muggle-borns with the Basilisk, to making a bad situation even worse by suspending Dumbledore from the school. While Lockhart was insufferable with his boastful demeanor and, I’d even go so far as to say Draco was punchable for being a bigoted prick throughout the novel, it all stems from his father who deliberately caused and then escalated the conflict because he was, for the time, still loyal to Voldemort. Plus he was also abusive to Dobby for no reason except to be sadistic.
Snape hate in HbP is real! Although I got this book spoiled for me by somebody who clearly misheard me saying i hadn’t read the book, I still hated snape after the murdered! That i knew was coming. I did get to feel genuine anger after the unbreakable vow. I was legitimately on Belatrix’s side after the initial reading. 13:28
I so agree with Ginny Weasley being the best character in the Half Blood Prince book. She was hilarious and showed how determined she was and was one of my favorite parts of the book. I also agree with Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Rita Skeeter, Umbridge, and Snape with their placements. Lupin demonstrated his skill in magic and was very caring, Peter betrayed his friends, Rita turned the public against lots of good characters and it was satisfying when she got her karma, Umbridge I was annoyed by so much that I stopped reading for a bit to gather my thoughts and her karma is the most satisfying karma out of any villain in the series, and Snape was shown to be a traitor to the good guys and the man who trusted him.
I personally always felt like Cedric was by far the best character in The Goblet of Fire, because right up until his death, Cedric was kind, considerate, loyal, strong, brave, and modest. If he had survived, he DEFINITELY would've helped everyone defend Hogwarts right up until the very end (Screw The Cursed Child).
My opinion: Ps: Hagrid and Draco Cos: Ron and Locheart POA: Lupin and Wormtail GOF: Crouch junior and Rita OOTP: Harry and Umbridge HBP: Slughorn and Snape DH: Harry and Voldermort Love your videos movieflame!
@@idcproductions56 Do I? Well, I dislike them because I just don’t think that some of the things they did were right (like bullying Ron and Percy). I don’t hate them, I just don’t like them at all 🤷♀️
Can u do one where u rank them based on how well the characters developed and made an how intresting they r rather than what’s they did? That would also be fun! Love ur vids❤❤
you can do a video on the best and worst qualities/personality traits of hp characters. for example: Hermione is incredibly intelligent and resourceful but her worst quality is being close-minded and judgemental but you can go more in depth.
When you said “Neville Longbottom” for The Deathly Hallows I got so happy and excited! I completely agree. Neville is one of my favorite characters from the entire series as well as one of the best developed characters in the series. And The Deathly Hallows just dials his awesomeness to 1000 and he just becomes so amazing
Here's my picks: 1. Best - Hagrid (I loved him) Worst - The Dursleys (We all know why) 2. Best - Harry (Agreed with you) Worst - Lockhart (Ofc 💀) 3. Best - Remus (Again agreed) Worst - Wormtail (Agreed) 4. Best - Definitely Barty Crouch Jr Worst - I hate Rita but Draco pissed me the fuck off in this book more then anything so he's the worst. 5. Best - It's a tie between McGonagall & Luna Worst - Ofc Umbridge 6. Best - Ginny 🫶 Worst - Snape (Good redemption but pissed me off) 7. Best - Neville (He ate this book) Worst - Voldy
I also suffer from bipolar disorder. I'm so happy that you're kinda open about it. I'm also one of the biggest Harry Potter fans in the area where I live. It's so good to see people share their journey of mental health, especially Bipolar. Thank you so much for all the amazing content you make and for proving me once more that Bipolar doesn't stop you from being successful❤❤❤❤❤
I think that the best characters in this series are Molly and Arthur Weasley. Because they make sure that their children are safe and also that Harry has a great time when he visits them throughout the series
Totally agreed! I also love Crookshanks, he is key in PoA book. As for Ginny W. In the books she gives me punk-rocker cool kind of girl, something Bonnie Wright cannot show in the screen. Love the Video Morgan!!
My list, starting with PS: Best: Mrs Norris, for being a cat Worst: Dumbledore, for falsifying the House Cup scores, favouritism, & sending the message that cheating is good Chamber of Secrets: Best: Ron Weasley, for his courage facing his arachnophobia in particularly difficult circumstances Worst: Mrs Weasley, for humiliating Ron with the Howler; he already has a severe lack of self-confidence, & that does not help Dishonourable Mention: Albus Dumbledore, for inflicting a pompous ignoramus & fraud on his pupils for a year, thereby depriving them of much-needed education. Prisoner of Azkaban: Best: Cedric Diggory, for showing maturity of character, sportsmanship, kindness & fair-mindedness Worst: Hagrid, for wantonly continuing to expose juveniles to extremely dangerous animals Dishonourable Mention: Aunt Marge, for her revolting behaviour to Harry. Goblet of Fire: Best: Frank Bryce, for doing his job in the face of unknown dangers, at the cost of his own life Worst: Peter Pettigrew, for being a snivelling coward & traitor Order of the Phoenix: Best: Luna Lovegood, for showing kindness & strength of character Worst: Trelawney, for her intolerance to Firenze. She has no excuse, after experiencing Umbridge's behaviour to herself, which makes her own intolerance far worse than it would have been. Dishonourable Mention: James Potter. But he has the excuse of knowing no better than to be a bully, because he is only 15; unlike Professor Trelawney, who is an adult. Half-Blood Prince: Best: Snape, for taking the Unbreakable Vow Worst: Fenrir Greyback, who has no redeeming qualities of any kind, and permanently scarred Bill Weasley Deathly Hallows: Best: Narcissa Malfoy, for saving Harry's life at great risk to herself, & for being a loving mother to Draco Very Honourable Mention: Aberforth Dumbledore Worst: Rita Skeeter, for publishing sensationalist half-truths about the deceased Albus Dumbledore, even after being taught a much-needed lesson by Hermione in OOTP. Why no mention of Bellatrix Lestrange, who is a very nasty piece of work ? Because she is unhinged, & not entirely sane. If there were a category for Most Irresponsible, there would be a four-way tie between: Albus Dumbledore Hagrid Snape Sirius but Dumbledore is probably the clear winner.
Remus Lupin is the best character in the prisoner of azkaban book definitely. Not only was he an amazing character, he was the best professor also. But we have to give a honorary mention to hermoine granger who was using a freaking time turner the entire book also without getting caught and also the reason for how the book ended as it ended
Yay! I am so glad for a video. When we were reading the chapter where Umbridge punishes Harry, my youngest blurted out, "that bitch!" She cupped her hand over her mouth. We told her it was okay. This was an appropriately bad situation and sometimes we use that language when we are surprised.
Question: Has anybody else ever thought that Harry and Grover getting slandered by the nearend of their respective series seemed so similar? I mean, Grover claimed Pan died but nobody believed him, and nobody believed him saying Pan was alive, and Hsrrh said that Voldemort was alive ad kicking but nobody believed him either. Huh. How vice versa.
IMO, Sirius should get an honorable mention in the 4th book because of his constant presence and correspondence with Harry and the trio. He returned to England when Harry told him that his scar hurt. After dumbledore notifies him about the graveyard fiasco, he rushed to hogwarts. Let’s not forget: HE WAS STILL WANTED AND FUDGE WAS IN THE CASTLE WITH A DEMENTOR. The fact that he went to such risk to make sure Harry was ok is commendable.
Who is your 2 favorite character and who is your 2 least favorite character? My 2 favorite characters: 1. Luna Lovegood 2. Remus Lupin My 2 least favorite: 1. Dolores Umbridge 2. Lord Voldemort
The ones u chose for the 5th were right on 👍🏻. The best for the 4th, I would’ve chosen Cedric, mostly cause he’s my favorite. So that’s personal and not professional choice. You’ve made vids on characters lives before. Pls make one “The Life of Oliver Wood”.
In my opinion, the best character for DH was Snape. His story and twist was so impactful, and really changed the way people looked at different events in the series. And if we go into bravery (which yes is a subjective thing), going behind the back of one of the most powerful wizards who would most likely give him a fate worst than death if caught is a pretty ballsy move, and that’s only one thing
Luna Lovegood is probably my favourite character after Sirius Black. I think shes incredibly underrated. She really helped harry in the 5th Book and was also a great friend for harry in the 6th. It seemed to me that because she was so different from everyone else in the series, harry trusted her opinion without second question. She built him up without supplying fuel to harrys ego, especially in book 6 when harry becomes the chosen one. Her down to earth attitude was always a place of solace for harry. It made me sad that she never married Harry, I always thought they'd be a good couple, but of course she ends up with Neville which is still a win.
Snape literally risked his life to protect Harry and help him defeat Voldemort, all out of his loyalty and love to Lily. How does that not redeem him? Sure, he may be nasty and cruel, but he genuinely loved Lily.
@@sastryvnk4402Loving someone isn't much of a redemption. It doesn't take away the fact that he spited harry for looking like his father during the books. He bullied neville so much that his greatest fear was Snape. It doesn't even take away the fact that he was hoping voldy would just kill the father and son duo and leave lily alone so that after their death he could potentially be with her. It doesn't take away that he joined a genocidal terrorist group willingly granted he did become a spy but nevertheless. If you are gonna argue abt helping harry, then to a degree so did draco and he is still a piece of shit and was never redeemed same with narcissa
@@AG-Asim I wouldn't say Draco wasn't redeemed. Not that he was fully redeemed or that he magically transformed into a nice guy, but to say he wasn't redeemed at all is going too far. As for Snape, he did realize how wrong it was to let Harry and James die in exchange for Lily and asked Dumbledore to protect the whole family.
@@sastryvnk4402 snape didn't realize how wrong he was, he only cared for lily, and only said to protect whole family just so dumbledore would do so, he was one of the worst characters in the series, all bad he did doesn't go away just cause he loved lily, a woman who didn't love him back but i agree that malfoy didn't have redemption either, he never became "good guy", he was just too weak willed to kill and was coward in the end
@@sastryvnk4402 Snape's whole redemption arc is based on his obsession with his high school crush. He never actually cared about Harry. Snape was obsessed with Lily, but still joined a racist cult in school and used a slur towards his obsession when all she did was try to help him against his bullies. Later, Snape fully commits to join the racist army in open aggression. This army has and continues to attack and harm/kill people they think are less than them. The only reason Snape decides to change sides was when he learned his boss wanted to kill his crush. When he begs Dumbledore to help, he admits he tried to convince his boss to spare Lily, but mentions nothing about her baby. Harry's first day of school, after just finding out he is a wizard and is also famous, Snape asks him advanced course materials and then openly mocks him for not knowing the answers. That was their first conversation and Snape set the tone. Imagine for moment, you have a son going to school and is being bullied by a teacher who you used to bully when you were in high school. You'd have a pretty big issue with that, wouldn't you? Can't forget, it isn't just Harry who receives Snape's ire. Neville's biggest fear in the whole world, which includes dementors, banshees, giant spiders, and worse, his biggest fear is his teacher being in the same room as him. MASSIVE red flag there. In Goblet of Fire, Harry and Draco have a very brief duel before Potions. Their spells hit bystanders in the crossfire, and Hermione is hit with Draco's curse. When Snape sends people to the nurse, Ron demands Hermione be allowed to go as well. Snape is then shown her teeth, which are growing rapidly out of her mouth. What does he do? He cruelly mocks a disfigured student by saying he doesn't see anything different about her. Snape was a horrible person on the right side of history. Of course he was brave to spy against Voldemort, but that doesn't give him any right to be vindictive to students because he had a bad life. It does nothing for his cover as a spy, and he clearly enjoys it. In the end, he got what he deserved. He died alone, with no family, and in the moment of his death no one loved him in his eyes.
Dear Mr Morgan I am a great fan of your videos and I must acknowledge the fact that your knowledge and understanding of the wizarding world is absolutely amazing. In the context of this video I am of the same opinion as you are except for the second novel. In my opinion the worst character should be Lucius Malfoy. He was in possession of Lord Voldemort's horcrux even though he did not know he was holding a fragment of his master's soul. However he got rid of the incriminating object and planted it among Ginny's books. Had it not been for Harry Potter Ginny might have taken all the blame and it would have been detrimental for Arthur Weasley and his Muggle Protection Act. He also wanted to humiliate the Weasleys because they were blood traitors. He also blackmailed the school governors and forced them to suspend Dumbledore. Lucius Malfoy's act is also significant from the point of plot development. It made Dumbledore realise that Tom Riddle has created horcruxes. Among the best characters Dobby needs special mention. Even though he was a house elf he defied his master and warned Harry of imminent danger. In the last novel he also rescued Harry from Malfoy manor.
Hermione should’ve been the best character in the Deathly Hallows. She carried the big three when both Harry and Ron had given up in their own separate ways. Hermione made sure all three of them were fed and had to deal with the antics of the other two. She had all of the break throughs in that book and was the only one with any sense of what they should do. One example of her being the thinker in the group is how she was the one who planned the whole ministry break in and she was the one who made the Pollyjuice Potion. She made the whole plan and went over it again and again with the boys to make sure they understood. She also predicted that going to Godric’s Hollow would be a bad idea and only let them do it as a last resort.
Let’s be real, as atrocious as Dolores is (and she truly is), Fudge and Percy also deserve dishonorable mentions for worst character in the Order of the Phoenix. Fudge’s actions are what kickstarted the plot of the 5th book, leading of course to him truly becoming the worst Minister of Magic in existence. As for Percy, while nowhere near as important, him abandoning his family for the Ministry was on a whole other level for him. Like he abandons everyone, even though he feuded the worst with his father and disregarded Fred and George the most.
I think the title "best" and "worst" is a poor choice of words because it's misleading. I thought by "worst" you meant which character was the most useless or most poorly written, most forgettable, most unimportant, etc. I think better wording would be "most likable" and "most hateable".
I've never known an actual Voldemort, I've never known an actual Bellatrix, but I've known lots of Umbridges; people who use their station in life to inflict as much pain and sorrow in others' lives as they can and be pleased with themselves afterward.
@@leighjenkins832 Many Harry Potter fans would. This channel is directed mostly to Harry Potter abd Percy Jackson and making a Harry Potter video about the most influential wizard in Harry Potter is a pretty good move if ya ask me. Why wouldn't you watch that though?
In book 7, I personally think the Carrow siblings deserve an honorable mention for the worst characters. They literally tortured students with illegal curses. Also, hot take alert, my favorite character in book 4 is Cedric Diggory. He is so good natured and Harry would not have managed the second task without him. He is also the truest Hufflepuff in the entire series tied with Tonks (whose first name I won't say for obvious reasons).
I know it's bad, but the first time I read the book, I was rooting for Harry to provoke Umbridge into using the "no-no" curse on him. She wouldn't have been able to cover THAT up.
Here’s my picks for each one but just to clarify it’s much more based off the movies than books 1: Best - Hagrid (No real reason to explain, Hagrid is just that guy) Worst - The Dursleys (again I think pretty self explanatory) 2: Best - Harry (I agree with everything you said in this video) Worst - Lockhart (Same as above) 3: Best - Lupin (Agree) Worst - Wormtail (agree) 4: Best - Barty Jr (Agree) Worst - Barty Sr (I know it’s a hot take probably but every word that came out of this dudes mouth just annoyed me more and more) 5: Best - Sirius Black (Idk about the book but in the movie he’s made to be very likeable because of his relationship with Harry) Worst - Umbridge (obviously but Cornelius Fudge is a close second because he would actively go out of his way to go against everything Harry and Dumbledore did and said) 6: Best - Dumbledore (He was a badass in this one especially when they went to get the locket) Worst - Slughorn (I can’t bring myself to put snape here so I’m going with Slughorn for having a close relationship with Voldemort which made getting the horcruxes more difficult 7Pt1: Best - Dobby (It’s Dobby come on) Worst - Ron (I know he had the locket but he was so unlikeable for this entire movie) 7Pt2: Best - Neville (I agree with you but I’d also throw snape in there too) Worst - Bellatrix (I hate Bellatrix so much more than Voldemort so she takes it)
1b - Dumbledore 1w - Vernon Dursley 2b - I guess Harry? (this was hard since book 2 is the book I dislike the most) 2w - Dobby (don’t worry he’s redeemed before his death) 3b - Remus 3w - Aunt Marge (I’m sorry, Peter wasn’t in the book enough for me… Aunt Marge was probably in less but she left a bigger impact) 4b - Barty Crouch Jr 4w - Krums teacher, who’s name I can’t remember 5b - Luna Lovegood (honorable mention to Sirius Black) 5w - Umbridge 6b - Ginny!! 6w - Snape (originally with hindsight, I had Malfoy or Myrtle but you won me over with context of the book itself, not hindsight) 7b - Neville 7w - Amycus Carrow (you don’t fucking spit on McGonagall and get away with it, dishonorable mention is Ron Weasley for the first half of the novel)
For me, Fred and George should have gotten joint top for Order. Between handing Malfoy’s ass to him during the Quidditch match, defying Umbridge, and clutching up with the Extendable Ears, this was a really good performance from them
i remember when the half blood prince book came out and read it. I knew there was more to it on why snape killed Dumbledore. putting the pieces together. He protected harry in the first book and showed him all these things that helped him grow in power mostly indirectly. I knew there was some method to snapes "madness" when he did it.
Even though I absolutely agree with Uxbridge being the worst in the order of the phoenix, Fudge has to be a close honourable mention, his stupidity and defiance, it was him that put umbridge in hogwarts and gave her power and how he attacked harry and dumbledore at every turn
I think your reasoning for a lot of your picks makes sense. It's hard for me to judge characters who appear multiple times throughout a series by individual books, but I will say that on the whole my two favorite HP characters are Luna and McGonagall.
5:48 My theory beyond just being a good teacher, Lupin builds Neville up because he sees a bit of Peter or at least Neville becoming Peter if he didn’t find confidence. Neville could’ve ended up like Peter making his failures become his identity but he found Herbology and gained confidence. Becoming one of the bravest Gryffindors ever.

This is a great point actually. If you think about it, Snape really only showed he had a good side practically at the end of the series in the books.
Mcgonnagall is my favorite in OOTP, solely for “have a biscuit, potter.”
"I will make sure Potter becomes an Auror if it's the last thing I do!"
"It unscrews the other way"
“May I offer you a cough drop, Dolores?”
Queen!! She has so many brilliant lines
“They are supposed to be out of bed you blithering idiot!”
Crouch Jr: "I played my part so well as Moody, they had no idea. I even trained the students how to defend against the unforgivable curses!"
Voldemort: "... Wait.... You did WHAT!?"
😂
Yeah, he like taught them how to defend themselves from Voldemort and his death eaters 😂😂😂
I always saw it as Crouch viewing the students as potential Death Eaters
@djspark191 Aye!! Now that's pretty clever, i hadn't thought of that. But that does have me asking the question. Would other Deatheaters need to know how to defend them from attacks by other deatheaters? Because "honorable" witches and wizards don't use those curses. So they wouldnt need to defend against those in a battle with their typical enemies right?
Voldemort probably would have said, "AVADA KEDAVRA!" instead.....
(Just my opinion please don’t bite my head off)
I love Lupin, but to be fair he did abandon his child. Saying he is the best in the series is tough. Hagrid however… I shouldn’t have said that.

Agreed
He was frightened, weak and foolish.
@@heichan8657 I think Fudge IS the answer imo!!!! Because sure Umbridge reins terror over Hogwarts but she was appointed by Fudge!!!!
Tbh I can’t say who the best and worst character in the books but i might say in the movies
She's also in the 6th & 7th ones
@DriverHenryWho3245 the original comment above meant hat luna didn't arrive in the series until the 5th book, not that she was only in the 5th book. Certainly a good character 👍
One could argue for Lucius Malfoy for being the worst in Chamber of Secrets.
Think about it, he had Tom Riddle's diary, only knowing that it would open the Chamber of Secrets and therefore, lead to the deaths of many Muggle-Borns, planting it with Ginny, the daughter of his arch rival, Arthur Weasley.
And there's the fact that he tried to discredit Arthur publicly through his comments in the Daily Prophet and he even tried sacking Dumbledore from being Headmaster at Hogwarts.
he also straight up tried to kill Harry in the movie
@@Crafty_boy70you beat me to it! I just watched movie 2 and couldn't believe how he started to cast the killing spell at Harry, I missed that when I was younger
@@Sc9cvsd you can credit Jason Isaacs for that. He’s a natural at improvising.
@@Ori_Kohav That wasn't so much "improvising" as not doing his homework. He hadn't read the books and didn't know any spells, just knew that Avada Kedavra was one. He didn't know what it was supposed to do, or that Lucius would never have dared use it in that situation.
And how he treated doby. He was beyond cruel to him.

I did not know Neville would go from being a shy kid to a complete badass And I seriously appreciate it
Idk, Luna is one of the most beloved characters in the series
I'd like to make a couple of honorary mentions: 4th book baddest, barty crouch senior, since his extreme actions and negligance lead to just about every bad thing happening in that book. also, 7th book best: dobby, since not only did he always support and help harry, but when harry and the gang were in the worst situation, without any means of escape, he fought through his trauma and fear to go back to the house he hated and save harry and the others, giving his life in the effort.
i disagree with Barty Sr. He basically barely did anything in that book but we should rlly thank him a lot yk

Hi
Lol

I like how Neville transformation in the movies and his actors transformation in real life happen to fit so well together.
I have to be honest, Matthew Lewis WAS Neville for me. He did a great job in the role, especially in OotP (He's one of the reasons it's the movie I revisit the most)
While I agree some characters were not done justice on the films (Ron and Ginny being the worst offenders to me, but I don't place the blame on Rupert or Bonnie) I can't see anyone else playing Neville Longbottom
I am so so glad you put Ginny as the best HBP character! She gets nowhere near as much love as she deserves! Thank you so much for saying it!

Ginny is just a stupid fangirl who turned Mary Sue in the sixth book.
Even I fell in love with Ginny in the book. I actually had a huge smile and emotional experience when Harry and her got together.
@@captainawesomesplayground5403 They were so cute together, and their chemistry was amazing. It's too bad they butchered their relationship in the movies.
Harry is the worst in HBP for casting Sectumsempra and best there is no best all characters are kind of bad in that book.
Sometimes I forget how evil Lockheart is, but when morgan went over his plan in the chamber I definnently agree that he's the worst in chamber.
It’s easy to forget. The bad things he does are pretty glossed over.
Ginny was overrated in book 6
I personally always felt like Cedric was by far the best character in The Goblet of Fire, because right up until his death, Cedric was kind, considerate, loyal, strong, brave, and modest. Dishonourable Mention: James Potter. But he has the excuse of knowing no better than to be a bully, because he is only 15; unlike Professor Trelawney, who is an adult.
Half-Blood Prince:
Best: Snape, for taking the Unbreakable Vow
Worst: Fenrir Greyback, who has no redeeming qualities of any kind, and permanently scarred Bill Weasley
Deathly Hallows:
Best: Narcissa Malfoy, for saving Harry's life at great risk to herself, & for being a loving mother to Draco
Very Honourable Mention: Aberforth Dumbledore
Worst: Rita Skeeter, for publishing sensationalist half-truths about the deceased Albus Dumbledore, even after being taught a much-needed lesson by Hermione in OOTP.
Why no mention of Bellatrix Lestrange, who is a very nasty piece of work ? Because she is unhinged, & not entirely sane.
If there were a category for Most Irresponsible, there would be a four-way tie between:
Albus Dumbledore
Hagrid
Snape
Sirius
but Dumbledore is probably the clear winner.
GINNY WEASLEY MENTION AHHHH H+G FOREVER
Remus Lupin is the best character in the prisoner of azkaban book definitely. Not only was he an amazing character, he was the best professor also. But we have to give a honorary mention to hermoine granger who was using a freaking time turner the entire book also without getting caught and also the reason for how the book ended as it ended
I knew some of the worst characters were Wormtail, Rita Skeeter, & Umbridge.
Yay! I am so glad for a video. When we were reading the chapter where Umbridge punishes Harry, my youngest blurted out, "that bitch!" She cupped her hand over her mouth. We told her it was okay. This was an appropriately bad situation and sometimes we use that language when we are surprised.
Is it just me or do others enjoy reading Umbridge’s evilness 😂
Yes, just you.
I mean I did really hate her but it was kinda entertaining
I would say McGonagall for OOTP’s best, but I get why you went with Luna. Both are great in the story.
At what Grover are we talking about here? Grover from Sesame Street?

IMO, Sirius should get an honorable mention in the 4th book because of his constant presence and correspondence with Harry and the trio. He returned to England when Harry told him that his scar hurt. After dumbledore notifies him about the graveyard fiasco, he rushed to hogwarts. Let’s not forget: HE WAS STILL WANTED AND FUDGE WAS IN THE CASTLE WITH A DEMENTOR. The fact that he went to such risk to make sure Harry was ok is commendable.
I respectfully disagree with your "best" pick for number 3. I love Remus, truly I do, but the best character begins and ends with Sirius Black.
Its alright bro we don't care whether you upload often or not we just want the same high quality you always give
Who is the worst character in the cursed child. 😶🧐.
There are too many options
It’s gotta be Harry.
Agreed, I think Harry, Delphi and Albus are the best choices. Harry & Albus being pricks and Delphi existing.
The whole book is already the worst thing
John Tiffany and Jack Thorne are the worst there :)
The best is Scorpious and the worst is Harry 🥴
Who is your 2 favorite character and who is your 2 least favorite character?
My 2 favorite characters:
1. Luna Lovegood
2. Remus Lupin
My 2 least favorite:
1. Dolores Umbridge
2. Lord Voldemort
Under 2 hour gang!!
👇
Snape became my favorite character of the series after the seventh book.
Snape was never redeemed in my eyes. Too many terrible things to wipe them all off in the final book.
@@sastryvnk4402 snape didn't realize how wrong he was, he only cared for lily, and only said to protect whole family just so dumbledore would do so, he was one of the worst characters in the series, all bad he did doesn't go away just cause he loved lily, a woman who didn't love him back
but i agree that malfoy didn't have redemption either, he never became "good guy", he was just too weak willed to kill and was coward in the end
Hermione was the queen of this book
True
Exactly what I was thinking
Pls do best chapter and worst one from each book 😭😭 I’ll really love to hear from u
Umbridge in the movies is how i imagine coquette lana del rey fans to be
Help I love Lana and coquette things but I’m not Umbridge??
I’ve been waiting for this video since the beginning of time
3:06 TAKE THAT DRACO FANS! (sorry I’ve been holding that in for a while)
I've never known an actual Voldemort, I've never known an actual Bellatrix, but I've known lots of Umbridges; people who use their station in life to inflict as much pain and sorrow in others' lives as they can and be pleased with themselves afterward.
Movie flame pls make a video about Merlin
Totally agree
No I am not going to watch that 😂😂😂
@@leighjenkins832 Many Harry Potter fans would. This channel is directed mostly to Harry Potter abd Percy Jackson and making a Harry Potter video about the most influential wizard in Harry Potter is a pretty good move if ya ask me. Why wouldn't you watch that though?
@@Remson-11 thx for the positive response
@@ZeeyanFirdousthehorchataknight 👍
In book 7, I personally think the Carrow siblings deserve an honorable mention for the worst characters. They literally tortured students with illegal curses.
Also, hot take alert, my favorite character in book 4 is Cedric Diggory. He is so good natured and Harry would not have managed the second task without him. He is also the truest Hufflepuff in the entire series tied with Tonks (whose first name I won't say for obvious reasons).
💫✨Legend has it that Morgan was JK Rowling's right hand & a Top Consultant for the Harry Potter Franchise ⚡️😅🐺
I have Neville's hoodie from the final book I am not lying I swear I was so happpy when I got it as a bithday present
I’m so quick
Same
Fr
You are so Swift
Me too
still swift af boi
I know it's bad, but the first time I read the book, I was rooting for Harry to provoke Umbridge into using the "no-no" curse on him. She wouldn't have been able to cover THAT up.
Here’s my picks for each one but just to clarify it’s much more based off the movies than books
1: Best - Hagrid (No real reason to explain, Hagrid is just that guy)
Worst - The Dursleys (again I think pretty self explanatory)
2: Best - Harry (I agree with everything you said in this video)
Worst - Lockhart (Same as above)
3: Best - Lupin (Agree)
Worst - Wormtail (agree)
4: Best - Barty Jr (Agree)
Worst - Barty Sr (I know it’s a hot take probably but every word that came out of this dudes mouth just annoyed me more and more)
5: Best - Sirius Black (Idk about the book but in the movie he’s made to be very likeable because of his relationship with Harry)
Worst - Umbridge (obviously but Cornelius Fudge is a close second because he would actively go out of his way to go against everything Harry and Dumbledore did and said)
6: Best - Dumbledore (He was a badass in this one especially when they went to get the locket)
Worst - Slughorn (I can’t bring myself to put snape here so I’m going with Slughorn for having a close relationship with Voldemort which made getting the horcruxes more difficult
7Pt1: Best - Dobby (It’s Dobby come on)
Worst - Ron (I know he had the locket but he was so unlikeable for this entire movie)
7Pt2: Best - Neville (I agree with you but I’d also throw snape in there too)
Worst - Bellatrix (I hate Bellatrix so much more than Voldemort so she takes it)
Your picks are perfect! Maybe an underrated best and worst from book 7 are Regulus Black as best, and Mundungus Fletcher as worst?
I also struggle with Bi-Polar! 💙 I’m glad that’s something that I have in common with you, along with loving everything about the wizarding world!
1b - Dumbledore
1w - Vernon Dursley
2b - I guess Harry? (this was hard since book 2 is the book I dislike the most)
2w - Dobby (don’t worry he’s redeemed before his death)
3b - Remus
3w - Aunt Marge (I’m sorry, Peter wasn’t in the book enough for me… Aunt Marge was probably in less but she left a bigger impact)
4b - Barty Crouch Jr
4w - Krums teacher, who’s name I can’t remember
5b - Luna Lovegood (honorable mention to Sirius Black)
5w - Umbridge
6b - Ginny!!
6w - Snape (originally with hindsight, I had Malfoy or Myrtle but you won me over with context of the book itself, not hindsight)
7b - Neville
7w - Amycus Carrow (you don’t fucking spit on McGonagall and get away with it, dishonorable mention is Ron Weasley for the first half of the novel)
For me, Fred and George should have gotten joint top for Order. Between handing Malfoy’s ass to him during the Quidditch match, defying Umbridge, and clutching up with the Extendable Ears, this was a really good performance from them
Umbridge In The Books:👺
Umbridge In The Films:😈👿
i remember when the half blood prince book came out and read it. I knew there was more to it on why snape killed Dumbledore. putting the pieces together. He protected harry in the first book and showed him all these things that helped him grow in power mostly indirectly. I knew there was some method to snapes "madness" when he did it.
Snape could also get a dishonorable mention in Prisoner of Azkaban. I lost sleep on how angry he made me.
Oh my! I did not know You have a beautiful Shetland dog! Love these furball so much!
Voldemort is your favoriete character and you never mentiond him as the favorite in one of the books?!
Morgan is a literal Harry Potter encyclopedia and he has turned me into a Harry Potter encyclopedia 🎉
Love the glasses dude
5:48 My theory beyond just being a good teacher, Lupin builds Neville up because he sees a bit of Peter or at least Neville becoming Peter if he didn’t find confidence. Neville could’ve ended up like Peter making his failures become his identity but he found Herbology and gained confidence. Becoming one of the bravest Gryffindors ever.
