  • You might be curious about what it's like to be a Russian in 2024. I am a nomad travelling 1.5 year already. I will tell you about the problems with finances caused by western sanctions and unstable reality of my country. You will also learn about how locals and other tourists react to Russian people in different countries around the world.
I hope to break some stereotypes about Russia and want you to know that Russians are not bad. We are people just like you. So this is the truth about problems or ordinary Russian after the bad things happened 2 years ago and how my life has changed after sanctions.

sanctions are meant to affect the people of the targeted country via trickle down effect. the hope is for the people to raise their voice and challenge the country's foreign policies that is the cause of the sanctions

/it's unfair to people who have no hand or control on the Russian government and the war they just want to live in peace why punish the people? it seems like sanctions hurt the ordinary people than authorities

What about going to Georgia to get a bank account?

I have no money to move so far just to get a bank card😅 and also it’s easy to loose a SIM card if you don’t use it every 2-3 months. They can block it if you use it only for receiving messages from bank. Some of tourist SIM cards doesn’t work abroad (it happened with my Ecuadorian SIM card). So yes there are some options but still very unstable. It’s easier if you staying in one country but not when you are traveling.
