    Why oly shoes on deadlifts?

      I wear lifting shoes for all of my lifts as they have a combination of a rigid, non-compressible sole as well as support provided by the metatarsal strap(s) that provides an excellent platform for force transfer between the lifter and the floor.
      It's probably worth mentioning that some people tend to get a bit hyper-focused on the slight heel, but it's pretty much a non-issue. For those who want to pull in a flat shoe, I'd recommend something like the Sabo Deadlift Pro (amzn.to/3Z67BCq), and I'd also recommend avoiding (like the plague) something squishy like a Chuck Taylor.
