Modding a 3ds is probably a lot better then just going on a buying rampage, this way you can get all NES, SNES, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS games working fine on it. I recommend an SD card of 32 gb or higher cause some games like RPG's take up alot of space. The older titles (NES,SNES,GB,GBC,GBA, and some ds games*) take up like no space. And not only that, you have a library of freely to download 3DS custom themes using Anamone. And if you also own a wii I would recommend to jailbreak it too since it fives u access to all wii and gamecube games aslong yr using an usb or sd card with a reasonable size.
I recommend to mod the wii u instead of the wii for bigger library. Youll be able to play wii , wii u , gamecube games and retroarch. Also the Wii u is using Hdmi that is better than the wii classic
@@pokiblue5870 I recently mod my Wiiu. But having a hard time with Gamecube games. I'm not sure how to play Gamecube games on wiiu. What app do you use, how do you install them/where on the sd card do you put the game?
To the people who've not decided on modding their console: It's extremely easy and practically no risk at all. 99.9% risk free, so long as you follow the tutorials. I modded my DS in 30m, not including the load times. All you need is at least 128gb SD Card and you're set
64gb works perfectly too, 32gb if you dont mind not having a lot of room for 3ds games, 16gb is great if you mostly want virtual console, emulator, hombrew, or ds games
@@velocityraptor6051 I'm glad I got a 128gb sd. I downloaded every 3DS game I plan on playing. That every Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, SMT, Persona, Etrian, Kirby, Monster Hunter, and so many others What I didn't expect, was for all of it to be over 110gb worth of space. I was expecting like 80gb at most or something smh
wow thats true! if youre really going heavy on the 3ds games i suppose 128 would be good, but i personally wouldnt have them all installed at the same time, i keep the ones i'm not playing atm on my computer and install them when i need them
@@velocityraptor6051 That was my initial plan, but I realized how small 3DS games were. I also wanted to have all my completed game save files backed up, as well. And of course quick/instant access to all the games whenever I got a 128gb and just grabbed errything. It took so long to download and install it all thru FBI and hShop The only reason I still need to remove my SD, is to put more music on it It's best to just have errything downloaded and ready. Bucz the download/load speeds are insanely slow.. I wouldn't recommend going less than 128gb, unless you just have no interest in most 3DS games. But ultimately, you'll regret not having enough space. It's pointless to just swap games out instead of just getting all the space you'll need I started out with a 32gb SD and quickly realized how tedious errything was. It filled up faster than I thought, and I only had like 3 games on it smh
It's also just satisfying and relieving to have everything on one small device. All you gotta do is just open it up and play whatever, whenever. Also, the sheer amount of games on the home screen is also satisfying to see. Especially when the 3DS boot time is so much longer bcuz of all the games, DLC, Music, and themes you got lol My 2DSXL takes like 10 seconds to boot up lol
When the switch eshop inevitably closes, I plan on modding my switch lite to further future proof it (or perhaps sooner as switch emulation and modding is advancing pretty well). I also modded my 3ds recently, and it's a huge relief on top of bringing a breath of new life into my system. Latest game I started was Monster Hunter Stories.... and now I'm waiting until I can pay sixty bucks for the sequel. 😆
i wouldnt care i have all the games i rlly need rn lol, also i do NOT wanna get banned. if they end switch online, THATS an entirely different story though. then i would mod my switch.
I'm pretty sure Nintendo knows that people are going to mod their units. One of the main reasons they are probably thinking of is that the Switch will have all these games in the future anyway, and that making more older but still beloved hardware and software is just more plastic.
yes they do know, that's why 2 years ago they dropped a random update to brick modded wiius, the 3ds community is just bigger and knows how to get around Nintendo's nonsense
They some will, they know some won't, they rely on influencers now to make the most out of their poor customer experience. This video is actually a breath of fresh air on all, like previously stated, Nintendo's nonsense. Nintendo has excellent games, but the most miserable customer service...
I only discovered how much I loved the Metroid series after first grabbing them rom/inject CIAs like Zero Mission, Super Metroid, Fusion, etc. I later went to actually buy Dread outright because of them which I don't think I would have done without the amazing utility of a modded 3DS. Retro game preservation is essential and can often result in the makers of the content getting new customers assuming they're still making em.
The same thing happened for me with f zero. I got to emulate gx on dolphin and i loved it so much, i bought a real copy for my gamecube and bought x and snes on virtual console.
thank you for the reassurance. I don't have the funds to build a library and i was feeling rather hopeless that i might never have the Pokemon, Layton or Majora experience. I don't understand why these games are so expensive
@@troigrl Really? I mean there isn’t a ton on Playstation specifically but once you mod your system, injecting Playstation games just takes bit of research. But I would still argue there are tons of guides on “how to jail break” your 3DS.
I've modded mine long before the eShop closure. It was a good time to be a modded 3DS user, you could still go on the eShop, play online with friends and do all that stuff.
I will add, if you don't want to take a chance modding your own system, there are folks out there on ebay, Etsy, etc. who will professionally mod it for you for less than most of these games are selling for individually. Mod and load!
lol I followed a tutorial while using my pc and 3ds and had a fully modded 3ds in less than 30 minutes with barely a single problem, and the only thing that was inconvenient was waiting like 2 minutes for a bot on a website to friend me on my 3ds. I would never pay anyone to mod a 3ds for me, if you want a modded 3ds just watch a youtube tutorial video and watch it start to finish first so you can somewhat understand it then just grab your 3ds and pc or a laptop with a sd card reader and just do it yourself for free, really not hard at all.
I did this recently and it's been so much fun, i can actually play the many 3ds games and a whole bunch of emulators easy, and the best of all, i don't have to pay 40 euros for them (prices here are still expensive)
@@krams48 it took me 3-4 hours because I was super careful. It's easy to find the roms but the sites are full of ads and can be very dangerous, so a good antivirus, a careful eye and some brain is what you also need
@@gdminus1726 nice. I found a couple of gems that are untouched so far. I have a feeling that because of the price that's gonna change pretty soon. Crossing my fingers! 🤞

Twighlight menu loader with NDS bootstrap and game forwarder. I have the most insane collection of DS games sitting on my 3DS that I've poured hours over. And they all display on the home menu! I only really use it for DS/3DS titles though. I use my RP2+ to emulate everything else.
Note: For the GBA any 3DS is capable of playing the games perfectly. Nintendo went out of their way to include ALL of the GBA hardware in some way (similar to what they did with the DS Lite). 3DS GBA VC injects are not emulators, they actually boot the system into a special "GBA_FIRM" mode. There's now an application called "OPEN_GBA_FIRM" that lets you essentially boot into that mode with a GBA ROM handed off to it, so you don't even need to install every GBA game as a VC Inject anymore either. It's worth noting that the DSi did NOT do this, the DSi is missing some of the hardware the GBA has. GBARunner2 is a hypervisor that runs the roms in "DS Mode" much like how Nintendont on the Wii is a hypervisor that runs the GC game in Wii mode. But DS Mode can't use GBA soecific hardware when ran on a DS Lite and that hardware does not exist at all on the DSi (notably the chip that does the GBA sound, GBA sounds in GBARunner2 are emulated). So there's some compatibility issues.
I’m really late to the party but I just homebrewed my 3ds and wow it’s pretty cool, It’s crazy that the switch already turned 5 years old but I’m preparing for this one, I’ve bought all my games physically for it
@@kr4t0sg.28 I don't even own a 3DS. Was thinking of buying one, but not in a rush. This is what R4 is for, or just emulating on Citra. This company pisses me off. Hell, can't buy the version of four swords that allows you to play on your own.
@@TurtleSauceGaming emulating or pirating your own games is the way to go since nintendo doesn't care for game preservation. So yeah i have a love/HATE for Nintendo. Many of these game prices are absolutely retardedly insane. In my case, i just held on to some of my games but others i did had to fork over triple digit 💵 😒
Dug out my 2DS about three weeks ago after my reccommended on YT became mostly retro handhel repair videos for a while - already gad it on homebrew and have been playing old main series Pokémon (pirated, obviously) along my legal Ultra Moon that I got with the system. It's definitely one of my favorite ways to play games. I've discovered new games I didn't think I'd like, sich as Kirby: Planet Robobot or Pokémon Picross. The Flipnote Hatena Community made a new version of Flipnote Hatena called Sudomemo, so I've been reliving part of my childhood with stuff like that in a way I really enjoy. I got into it really late but I love the 3ds and I'm glad that people are keeping it alive with homebrew.
This is a dumb question but do the games save? Like for example: if I have a “downloaded” Pokémon game and play it for 4 hours then save, will it save my progress even if I play another game? I’ve never done modding before but I want to know if it’s something I want to have done on one of my consoles.
Late last year I bought a modded DSI. I love it so much, but now I want access to the 3DS library prior to the eShop shutting down. I’m so excited to figure out how to mod. It sounds like it’s user friendly. Thanks for sharing this peace of mind! 😊
Just modded my 3DS. Immediately went to download the CTGP7 mod for MK7, and am currently getting my hands on Kid Icarus Uprising. Also grabbed a cool Palkia theme
Definitely gonna mod my 2ds xl soon! I have a regular and PokeBall 2ds xls! And a Sun and Moon 3ds xl I might keep unmodded cuz I bought a bunch of games already. Physical and boxed 3ds systems are already getting expensive.
im so glad that i still have mine from years and years ago, as well as my brothers since he doens't play it anymore. anyway, if i don't mod my 2ds now will i ever be able to mod it again when the store gets shut down? im always so scared to mod my stuff cause im afraid ill break it or mess it up. if someone answers, thank you!
some of the easiest ways to mod require the use of the eshop and i heard people say nintendo may do a final update that will change many modding guides so , the sooner the better imo. just scored a 2ds for 80 bucks and gonna go crazyyyyy
Better to mod it now, that's true. However I find it unlikely that they'll be able to block mods at all once the system reaches its final update considering moders will have a static software version to work off of
I have a moded 3ds xl and WiiU. I normally use to go to the Nintendo eshop to see how much of a ridiculous price they have on these older retro games. Then proceed to give Nintendo the middle finger by downloading and playing it for free on my modded systems 🤷♂️ I get a kick out of it. The first system I actually hacked was a regular wii but eventually upgraded to a WiiU because you can practically have Nintendo's entire history on that one console if you know what you're doing.
I recently hacked my 3DS and while I did have to buy a bigger memory card it was well worth it when half of the games I'm getting for free would've costed me upwards of almost 500 dollars to get physically
Yay! Just got myself a New 3DS off eBay and finally got to play around with it. Despite being 12 years old it stills packs a bunch of great games. I'll definitely need a larger SD card lol
I have modded both my new 3ds xl and switch to its teeth ;). I don't regret it one bit. Sure its risky on switch however I now get access to a fantastic bunch of games like Minish Cap straight onto my TV, as well as both OOT3D and MM3D on TV. I also discovered how to change the filters of a v1 switch to make it look just as sharp as an OLED model by adjusting the luminescence, saturation, brightness and other settings to spice up that quality.
@@Muzart I had around 20 games before hacking, then I installed around 60 games. So that's around 80 games. I installed a few of my physical games, but then I had to remove half of them to make room for the others. Aside from the Pokémon games RBY GSC, I don't have any Virtual Console games. So bear that in mind. I don't know if getting an SD card with more than 128GB is a good idea. The console may not be able to handle such large amount of memory, which can cause it to lag. I'd advise having 2 cards if you want to go over 128 GB. The New 3DS XL is not good for having multiple cards though, since you have to remove the backplate by unscrewing, just in order to switch cards, and that is an hassle (trust me, I know). So if you want to have as many games as me without owning any physical games, 128GB is not enough.
@@Muzart Also here's some useful information: give preference for games of the same region as your console, even though hacking it turns it region free, some games may start acting up, lag, crash or have problems with the updates. If you get an error code when updating: open FBI, press A on tickets, press A on a random ticket, then choose "delete unused tickets". After that the game should update with no problems. *DO NOT* choose "delete this ticket" unless you know what you're doing.
I am panic buying for physical copies of SMT games because SMT is my favorite jrpg series. I only missing persona q2 and SMT apocalypse. 3Ds is my favorite system since you can play dragon quest 1-9, smt, and ace attorney games. Just got my new3ds, over paid a good boy because I thought it was an XL, I liked the "shell" so I bought the best condition I could find since you can't change faceplates on the xl, modded my 2ds first, it's extremely easy to mod hardest part was copy pasting, well 2 steps include making a new folder and the file structure in the instructions could be improved
One question I have been thinking about with 3DS moding is Pokemon Crystal, or more importantly, the GS Ball event that was activated in the Virtual Console version in all languages. Would it be possible to use any copy of Crystal's rom or is there a special version made for the 3DS?
You can find downloads for virtual console games, but if there are other event pokemon/items you'd want to get that aren't available anymore, pksm can inject them into any compatible save (and some that aren't the intended game but are the same gen like sun events in moon)
The easiest way to hack your 3ds requires downloading somthing free from the eshop, I know there's also an alternative method mentioned but that first option will no longer work without the eshop
Question: I'm getting my model hacked these days, can I in any way redo this process in the future? Not much of an expert on the topic. I'd also like to know what are the things that can cause my nintendo to be bricked. If anyone answers, I'll be very very thankful!
Good to know I'm not the only one troubled by this worry 🤭 Since then, I got to know, that yes, there is a way to redo it, but it's quite risky, and I probably shouldn't jump at it alone. For second question I still didn't get answers tho. I'm actively looking for it
My one question and I want to mod my 3Ds since eshop is obviously closing down but can I still use the eshop even tho my 3Ds is modded? It’s a pretty weird question but I would like to know myself if it’s possible
Even when the store is shut down pirating games is still illigal and depending on your contry can end with you paying huge fines or going to jail, don't matter legally that there is no legit way to get the games
Can easy use the boot9strap unSAFE_MODE rather than the Pokémon Picross pichaxx method on the new firmware if you have a blocked eshop on the 3ds or the eshop is no longer available
No lol, so many of us modded our 3DS's without needing to download any software from the eshop. Its gotten so much easier nowadays so all you really need is just an SD card either way.
I just wish that the prices for the 3DS console line would come back down to realistic prices. Almost all the other consumer electronics that were in shortage due to COVID have started to normalize in price now, and people are speaking with their wallets. The entire 3DS family is still stuck in 2020 prices though. Seeing good condition US models going for $300+ only 3 years after they were discontinued is just absurd. I've even seen some of the special models like the SNES themed N3DS XL go for literally $1000+. I just don't understand why people are still willing to pay that amount. It's insane.
My 3ds doesn’t recognize my si card I have tried many different as cards but it shows as if there wasn’t any does anybody know how to make it work? (I have a 3ds normal )
Well, I modded my 3DS but now I've got a new issue... I don't exactly have a lot of storage since I used the SD card that came with the original system, apparently there is a way to port the files over on different SD cards with higher gigabyte numbers, but is there a way I can do that with a already modded SD card?
If you have another device you can copy the current sd card's data to, you should be able to then transfer a copy to the new, larger sd card. Plus, since it's unlikely you'll need a 4gb card for anything else nowadays, you can keep the original data there just in case
I would recommend doing it now because you might need steel diver (a free game) to do it depending on which method you use, but you will be able to do it at any time most likely
Nintendo has done nothing but squander the good will the built up with me during the 3ds wii u Era. They really cared about the consumer back then and maybe it was because they had to but still
If you buy a new bigger SD card can you transfer all the games and progress you have got to that SD card or do have to re-download everything and start over
I did fall into the trap and panic bought a few games last may. Thankfully didn't spend too much since a sale was going on but I just figured I'd never mod my ds. I modded my vita last year and have been enjoying the freedom that comes with it. Now I'm going to end up doing the same for my DS so I don't have to worry about all these games that'll blow up in price once the shop closes.
So, let’s say you were to mod two 3DSs and download Pokémon games onto both of them, would they still online capabilities, and would you be able to trade Pokémon between the two - as if they were “officially” downloaded from the eshop? As for Pokémon X and Y, would features like Wonder Trade also work?
If I mod my new 2ds xl and download Pokemon Omega Ruby, is it possible to be able to connect to Pokemon Bank since I would like to transfer Pokemon from Omega Ruby to my legal copy of Pokemon Sun?
Man all i want is a cib mario new 3ds, i dont want the xl, i remember i saw them for 100$ at walmart and i couldnt snag one, now system alone theyre about 300$ and i cant spend carelessly like that atm
Hello can someone answer my questions. I bought a Nintendo 3DS using my savings and what I got was a unit that being jailbreak. I don't know how it function and I'm not planning to use it either. I'm afraid that the jailbreak will shorten the life span of my DS and I don't know if it requires updating or what. This is my first DS because I can't afford it when I was a kid and I want to use it to play Pokemon and transfer some that I catch from one region and generation to another. My questions are... - Is it really okay to have a jailbreak on nintendo? Like, what is better WITH or WITHOUT? - Is it okay if I don't update the jailbreak to latest or what? - Do I get banned from this? Thank you
the lifespan of your DS should be fine, and nothing will really happen. Playing on it should also be fine if you're not blatantly hacking online if you really want to be careful. Nintendo is starting to care less for the 3ds/ds so you'll be perfectly fine. It's also much better to have the cfw on it. Also, mind telling me what's installed on it? If you want i could try to help you out with figuring out what does what and other stuff.
A lot of people may not like it... but the best feature is access to every 3ds, ds, dsiware, gba, snes & nes game. Also I have a New 3DS LL and I can play games from any region.
You can easily copy the contents of the SD card in your PC to back it up. Of course, you'll need a new SD card for all the files and games, since the storage in the OG card is not nearly enough for what I remember) but you can copy the contents of the old original card that are in your PC to your new SD card. (iirc correctly, I did it after the friend code step in the guide, so that's my recommendation).
Question: Even after the eshop closure, can you still mod the console. I dont want to mod yet but I will eventually when I get a better 3ds. I'll use my 2ds to mod.
yeah, you don't need anything from the eshop to mod your 3ds (there were methods before where you needed to) the current latest method for the latest firmware only needs you to put some .cia(s) into the SD card and etc
Guys I need help. Im thinking of modding a Japanese 3ds , any tips? Is it any different than normal modding? Can I change language to english without changing region?
I'm getting a 3ds monday, and I wanted to ask if when using games I installed with luma, can I play online or is there a risk to getting your console blocked? Really would appreciate the answer, great vid btw
as long as you dont cheat you should be fine, however one guide i read suggested going to your friend card and displaying it as offline so that it doesn’t indicate if you’re using FBI or other homebrew apps
I’ve already modded my 2DS and I’m planning to transfer my stuff I have on my 2DS onto my New 2DS XL and hack that, while also rehacking the original 2DS to give to my friend so he can play DS games without having the actual games. I love hacking, and yes, it’s easy to do.
So here's a question I seem to get mixed answers. You know some 3DS games need an update due to either added content or fixed bugs. With a modded 3DS, can you update those games through the eShop on its own or you need to take extra steps to update those games?
Yeah lol, I updated 3 CIA games I had on my system through the eshop before and I didn't get banned or have my console remotely bricked by nintendo or anything crazy like that
Additionally, if you can't download an update from the eShop for any reason, many rom sites also host the games' update data, which can be installed the same way as any game.
i’m kinda concerned about free titles like the badge arcade and swapnote since i haven’t been able to find any cias for em only dlc packs for swapnote i have a japanese console and i still wanna play those titles but preferably in english and either way i can’t find the games in japanese im trying to change the region and still have access to the eshop but if it doesn’t go right i’m worried that i won’t be able to get a us 3ds in time
hshop has them, but the badge arcade *deletes all your pirated DLC every time you launch it so maybe just install it so you can use custom badges and then uninstall it* edit: GYTB creates the necessary data on its own, don't touch the badge arcade
Can I still jailbreak my 3ds after the store has been closed? Right now I have the regular 3ds XL and I got it like 6 or 7 years ago or whenever it was but my little brother smashed the screen and I neglected it after that, I need to get a charger, a screen replacement and a stylus and it'll be like new but I'm not sure when I'll get those things
I really love my modded 3DS it's really awesome I recommend anybody that has one to mod it. now if you don't have one I would not recommend it unless you find it for like 50 bucks now my 3DS is the OG 3DS so I don't know how good it is with the other versions my main gripe about it is mainly is the slow down of trying to launch a game or launch your 3ds its self but it runs the games just fine as long as you don't go over like 64 and stuff
I'm interested in modding my 3DS, but can you un-mod it if you wanted to? Likely thing is I'll mod it and never look back, but just in case I want to revert it for some reason, could I? Also, can a modded 3DS just run any rom you chuck on it, whether that be a 3DS or DS one?
For what i know, you can unmod it, the guide in the description has a guide on it too iirc, but it's quite a long process, since it's not as easy as just deleting the files and calling it a day. And sure, the 3DS can run all of those roms. I think you'd need some homebrew apps to run the DS games, at least for the method I used, but it's pretty simple, I've been playing Chrono Trigger lately and everything's good.
The 3DS has a homebrew software called “Twilight Menu” which can play NDS roms you want, as well as some over stuff like nes and genesis etc alternatively, there methods that converts ds roms into titles that appear on the actual 3DS home menu!
I know I'm quite late, however, I'm not the biggest fan of modding my New 3DS XL. I've had it since 2016 and I always hated people who modded their system. I'll be modding mine at some point, but not right now.
I like the idea of giving resellers the middle finger by getting this software despite their efforts.
I know how to get it for the vista but not where to find it for Nintendo 3ds. Didn’t see anything on the guide
Maybe there’s a RUclips video?
@Daniel E Arnold II I do that too… when I can get games for a fair price. But I’m not paying some reseller $150 for friggin’ Game and Wario.

wow thats true! if youre really going heavy on the 3ds games i suppose 128 would be good, but i personally wouldnt have them all installed at the same time, i keep the ones i'm not playing atm on my computer and install them when i need them
@@velocityraptor6051 That was my initial plan, but I realized how small 3DS games were. I also wanted to have all my completed game save files backed up, as well. And of course quick/instant access to all the games whenever
I got a 128gb and just grabbed errything. It took so long to download and install it all thru FBI and hShop
The only reason I still need to remove my SD, is to put more music on it
It's best to just have errything downloaded and ready. Bucz the download/load speeds are insanely slow..
I wouldn't recommend going less than 128gb, unless you just have no interest in most 3DS games. But ultimately, you'll regret not having enough space. It's pointless to just swap games out instead of just getting all the space you'll need
I started out with a 32gb SD and quickly realized how tedious errything was. It filled up faster than I thought, and I only had like 3 games on it smh
It's also just satisfying and relieving to have everything on one small device. All you gotta do is just open it up and play whatever, whenever.
Also, the sheer amount of games on the home screen is also satisfying to see. Especially when the 3DS boot time is so much longer bcuz of all the games, DLC, Music, and themes you got lol
My 2DSXL takes like 10 seconds to boot up lol
When the switch eshop inevitably closes, I plan on modding my switch lite to further future proof it (or perhaps sooner as switch emulation and modding is advancing pretty well). I also modded my 3ds recently, and it's a huge relief on top of bringing a breath of new life into my system. i wouldnt care i have all the games i rlly need rn lol, also i do NOT wanna get banned. if they end switch online, THATS an entirely different story though. then i would mod my switch.

They didn't go out of their way to include it.
The DSi does actually have all of the hardware in it to run GBA games.

Also I have a New 3DS LL and I can play games from any region.
piracy, custom themes, getting rid of region lock, rom hacks, using cheats, backing up your saves, emulation etc
Do i have to delete the SD card that came with the DS or can I use it no problem? Don't want to lose whatever is in it
You can easily copy the contents of the SD card in your PC to back it up. Of course, you'll need a new SD card for all the files and games, since the storage in the OG card is not nearly enough for what I remember) but you can copy the contents of the old original card that are in your PC to your new SD card. (iirc correctly, I did it after the friend code step in the guide, so that's my recommendation).
They did Golden Eye on switch.
I have all the good 1st party games for 3ds. I should have waited, but I guess I could add homebrew so I can play all the ds classics
The "Golden Eye 007" part of this video didn't age too well
Question: Even after the eshop closure, can you still mod the console. I dont want to mod yet but I will eventually when I get a better 3ds. I'll use my 2ds to mod.
Yes,you should still be fully capable to mod your system
yeah, you don't need anything from the eshop to mod your 3ds (there were methods before where you needed to) the current latest method for the latest firmware only needs you to put some .cia(s) into the SD card and etc
I just bought a New Nintendo 3DS for 100€, put a 128 GB microSD card in and modded it. It's the best choice I've made for this console.
How do you do GBA VC on Luma?
I found a modded 3ds on eBay should I get it? It’s a good price (120)
I’ve already modded my 2DS and I’m planning to transfer my stuff I have on my 2DS onto my New 2DS XL and hack that, while also rehacking the original 2DS to give to my friend so he can play DS games without having the actual games. I love hacking, and yes, it’s easy to do.
soooooooo any mod would work? like homebrew or somthing?
So here's a question I seem to get mixed answers. You know some 3DS games need an update due to either added content or fixed bugs. With a modded 3DS, can you update those games through the eShop on its own or you need to take extra steps to update those games?
You can update through that prompt it automatically pops up with when launching a game that has an update while you're connected to the internet
@@SpawnTrapped And that doesn't negatively affect the modded 3DS?
@@antoniac4598 hasn't in my personal experience assuming your 3DS is on the current firmware when you mod it in the first place
Yeah lol, I updated 3 CIA games I had on my system through the eshop before and I didn't get banned or have my console remotely bricked by nintendo or anything crazy like that
Additionally, if you can't download an update from the eShop for any reason, many rom sites also host the games' update data, which can be installed the same way as any game.
i’m kinda concerned about free titles like the badge arcade and swapnote since i haven’t been able to find any cias for em only dlc packs for swapnote i have a japanese console and i still wanna play those titles but preferably in english and either way i can’t find the games in japanese im trying to change the region and still have access to the eshop but if it doesn’t go right i’m worried that i won’t be able to get a us 3ds in time
Hshop might have them, but I'm not sure
hshop has them, but the badge arcade *deletes all your pirated DLC every time you launch it so maybe just install it so you can use custom badges and then uninstall it*
edit: GYTB creates the necessary data on its own, don't touch the badge arcade
Can I still jailbreak my 3ds after the store has been closed? Right now I have the regular 3ds XL and I got it like 6 or 7 years ago or whenever it was but my little brother smashed the screen and I neglected it after that, I need to get a charger, a screen replacement and a stylus and it'll be like new but I'm not sure when I'll get those things
Yes you can do it even if the store closes already
@@pockyyaki5392 That's great, thank you!
@@owenwhitefoot You're welcome, good luck with your 3DS!
The 3DS has a homebrew software called “Twilight Menu” which can play NDS roms you want, as well as some over stuff like nes and genesis etc
alternatively, there methods that converts ds roms into titles that appear on the actual 3DS home menu!
I don't know how to mod my 2ds 😢
"We'll probably never see GoldenEye 007 on N64 online"
Good news
But where do you go to download the games! What website would you go to to get games?
hshop
I know I'm quite late, however, I'm not the biggest fan of modding my New 3DS XL. I've had it since 2016 and I always hated people who modded their system. I'll be modding mine at some point, but not right now.
