      People just try to make excuses to pirate games so that they don't feel guilty, but I have yet to hear an actually solid argument that isn't "If Nintendo doesn't want me to pirate, why don't they make every single one of they're thousands of games available on the newest console and never close the old eshops 🤓"
      Also it's not fair to people who bought the games, but that isn't really relevant if you're talking about morally right or wrong.

    • @qunt100
      @qunt100 Год назад +71

      @@Spilzu I feel like the average person who is pirating the games was going to do so regardless of whether the games were going to be made available forever or not. But I mean, now, we can't even pay nintendo even if we wanted to. So yah, alot of people are going to turn to pirating now even though they might not have had intentions of doing so before the shut down.
      I think people need to start a movement, similar to operation moonfall for majora's mask 3D or some shit. Because, I hate this decision of deleting the eshops. Nintendo is basically saying to me and everyone else that they don't want us paying for their properties on the eshop anymore. Which is so anti consumer. Heck, maybe a crowdfund campaign to tell nintendo, like hey, there is a market for it. Look at all these people who will download and pay for eshop services until they are dead. It is just so frustrating. Funnily enough, microsoft and sony made the same announcements, and then, they decided to keep that content up like any normal company would.
      Like I said, most pirates were going to pirate shit anyways because they didn't want to pay for it in the first place. But I see both sides of the argument. I can completely understand why the folks who are pirating games now simply because it doesn't exist anymore. That doesn't make it right though. People shouldn't be pirating things period. But I don't think nintendo should be deleting the eshops either. There are so many people who are willing to hand this company actual cash for this stuff, and they are denying their abilities to do so. I guess nintendo doesn't want eshop money from those people. Makes sense to me. Sarcastic of course. Like it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
      I think if the eshops were truly meritless, and had no value whatsoever, and it wasn't making them enough money to keep them open, then why was there such a huge backlash against the decision? Clearly, there are still boatloads of folks who actually want to purchase this shit from nintendo. I think it is more along the lines of forgetting the past. It will definitely be easier on nintendo, that is for sure. Not having to pay tech jockeys to keep the eshops running and all those headaches going on anymore. But it is clearly anti-consumer, and nothing more. They don't want to have to put up the work to keep this stuff open. Because, it still makes them money. They just don't want to keep it relevant.
      People also forget that they could potentially add all this stuff to the switch eventually to. I will probably download all that I can, because the Nintendo switch online sub fee service is a complete joke to me. It is very similar to netflix. Like I don't think any of those games really physically exist on the console itself. And nintendo could just decide to take it away from you, data and all, some day without a moments notice. And I just refuse to give in to that power. Least all the eshop games are physically on my console once I download them, and I never have to pay a fee again.
      And decisions like this are why digital online shit will always suck in my op. It feels bad for anyone who is trying to get this stuff. Especially for the future generations in particular. It is a completionists worst nightmare. I can just see it now. Some 3 year old now is like 13 in 10 years. Sees a 3ds and smash bros for 3ds, but decides not to buy it because half of it's content no longer exists.
      People are just way to complacent with the digital age. Like I called this years ago, and I hate being right. I told myself that these stupid eshops would be gone some day. I mean, I would just rather of never had digital shops for anyone. Eshops would be fine if they never existed. I mean, the people who are ok with things randomly being deleted, or just randomly changing to something stupid. You can continue doing digital stuff. I will always keep physical stuff in mind. I am almost done buying the DLC as well. But man, it sucks for the people who missed out, that is for sure.

    • @Spilzu
      @Spilzu Год назад +4

      @@NudeAlchemist No? I even said a valid reason to get mad is that they should keep the eShop up longer. However, they can't keep it up forever... none of the big console shops do that. Sure they *save* barely any money by closing it, but they *get* money by closing it in the long run. Gaining zero money when you could be gaining more money is a loss for most businesses (evil but usually true). Not cool, but very few companies *don't* do this. There are many reasons for closing the eShop from a business perspective.
      That's why it's dumb to get mad and say it's a good reason to pirate games. Sure, they should probably keep it up longer, but that's absolutely no excuse to pirate games, which was my original point.
      The length of a shop being open has nothing to do with pirating. If that was the case, what decides how short is short enough to pirate? Like I said, I have yet to see an argument that says pirating isn't wrong

I hate to think about the DLC that will be lost, even if a physical version is used. We've been through a lot together, from constantly loosing my stylus to being unable to find my 3ds case with some of my favorite games in it, to beating my first ever nuzlocke; it's been through so much stuff, and the only thing "wrong" with it is that the pad doesn't have the rubber casing anymore and whenever I exit a game it goes black for like 8 seconds. I'd never part ways with it. Sorry for the long text, this got me sentimental 😆

    • @secondamendment1927
      @secondamendment1927 Год назад +6

      That was the intent when they made it. But for me, it's just too big for that. It's gotta be convenient to keep in my pocket while I work to play on lunch/break, and anything else that comes up while on the go. And all the vulnerable parts don't get any protection unless you travel with it in a case or bag, where the sp-3ds all folded and covered the screens and buttons.
      Now, in the days taking full size consoles to friends houses for LAN parties or whatever, it would've been great for people who did that. Smaller and easier to travel with than the gamecube. But that just isn't a box I need checked. (And even in those days, if the option was between a true handheld and the switch, I'd've taken the true handheld to my friends haha)

      It’s a pretty niche market though, for people who think that the Switch is too big but that a phone isn’t adequate for on-the-go gaming, and also have the time to game while on-the-go.

    You don't need to if you are nolstalgic and don't want to lose your photos from your 3DS, however it is pretty much recomended now.
    Best part is that you still can play online (for mabey 1 or 2 years, as Nintendo is probebly planning on shutting it down too).
    If you look at this before the closure:
    You can buy the games, tho it's practiclly a waste of money, as yoi have like a month left before the Eshop closes.

I was so excited before I got it; I'd watch review videos and read about all the features and if my mom and I happened to be by a Best Buy or Gamestop I'd go inside to play the OoT demo on the display console, lol. good times.

    Oh and for FE Echoes, I would recommend the Cipher DLC at least!
    It features exclusive characters who appeared in the Japan exclusive TCG Fire Emblem Cipher which is now discontinued and the characters have yet to appear in anything else outside of this DLC. Not even the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes still…
    For other DLC, there are additional story DLC for Awakening, Fates, and Echoes that might be of interest to people.

    Just a quick heads PSA for Pokémon fans looking to transfer the special Ash Greninja over to Scarlet/Violet: DON'T.
    Battle Bond was changed in Gen IX and no longer triggers a transformation into Ash Greninja, so it's best to keep it in Gen VII until a future game decides to reintroduce the transformation.

    A VERY underrated 3DS digital exclusive is the jrpg “The Denpa Men”. There are 3 games with each of them progressively better than the last. The general base of the game is that you have a party at which you start with 4 and progressively are able to use 6 and then 8. These little fellas (the denpa men) look like teletubbies but with not so creepy faces and their abilities/powers are derived from their antenna. You have to use the AR camera to “find and catch” them throughout the real world to gain access to so many different unique characters. I really hope people check it out before it never gets to see the light of day again.
    Edit: Forgot to mention that it has an overall interesting story and power creep isn’t an issue either.

The game Radiant Historia perfect chronology (haven't played it but heard it's really good) is something you should consider downloading from the eshop because the physical version is like $80 or $90 but on the eshop it's only $40. You’ve smt4, smt4a, strange journey redux (I prefer original on ds, tho), devil survivor 1 & 2, and soul hackers. Only the ps2 rivals it in sheer number of smt games, I think (unless you go into japan exclusives in which case maybe snes?)
