I'm gonna miss this system so much, it was so aweome in it's prime. The games were great, the system menus haven't aged all that well in some aspects, especially the eShop, but there was so much personality and charm packed into every corner. The music is so fun to listen to, I literally have a "3ds OST" saved on my phone because of the nostalgia i have with it. Streetpass was so cool when people actually carried their consoles around. I only got my 3ds in 2019, so well past its prime but plenty of people in my area toted around their consoles at the time. The only thing I really missed out on was seeing new games releasing. The 3ds is an excellent time capsule of the 2010s and what made it so special for all of us, and I'm glad we all got to be a part of it and make it so fun. I'm never gonna forget the 3ds, moreover, i'll always remember how awesome the 2010s were as a whole. o7
Happy to see more uploads from you! Man! Time flies so fast, it seems like yesterday I just got my 3DS and the games I got on the eShop, Pushmo, Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword the main two that I got on the eShop this christmas. I'm grateful I got to experience the eShop when it was here!
12 years is a long time. Crazy how it felt like yesterday. Wow he was but a boy when it came out now hea grown. Aside from the eshop starting in 2011, also when MK9 came out so that year was also big for me too. They actually have the box boy games on The switch.

Bro I'm gonna miss this so much. I remember watching all of the Nintendo Directs on the eshop of WiiU games I really wanted when the WiiU was new and I was a lil child who couldn't get one. I was lucky the 3DS had that price drop so I could get my parents to get it. XD So many hours in Kid Icarus Uprising, Smash 3DS, Mario Kart 7, etc. Such a blast. I also remember watching you get the Switch with Etika. It's all so magical to me. It makes me a little emotional. I can't help it. This has been such a huge part of my life. It's just like with the Nintendo channel on the Wii with the Directs and how you could set it up to let you play demos on your DS. I just hate that all these services are shutting down and probably won't ever be able to be accessed again. I really appreciate people like you taking the time to just record this stuff. Yeah it's simple and easy and anyone could do it, but I'm so glad to be able to have a way to see this part of me growing up again.

Man, this was my first ever console that had any kind of 3d graphics, it was a huge jump from the GBA graphics 6 year old me was so used to back in 2012.

Thank you so much for documenting this. The WiiU and 3DS both mean so much to me, as they are the first consoles I ever had and it makes me cry to think that the eShop is finished. As a little last hurrah, I managed to buy Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Sky. There will never be a point in my life where I won’t look back on these consoles and how I got into gaming at an early age, and it was with these consoles. I was only five when I got my 2DS and I was a baby when I started playing the WiiU. I can’t express how much those consoles meant to me. Weather it was playing Super Mario 3D World with my sister, or playing some Animal Crossing: New Leaf with my sister. That’s right. These games brought me and my sister closer. Though as we are getting older, we are slowly drifting apart more, and more. But these will always be good memories to have and treasure. It feels kinda sad that there is still games sitting on my wish list that I never had the chance to buy. Thank you guys for reading this message. It means a lot that you guys listened to all of this.

This is so cool. I miss those back in 2011, I got mine on my 10th birthday that year. This kinda makes me wanna cry. I own 4 of the 3DS family consoles now, it serves such wonderful memories of my childhood and teenage years. What nice times to look back on. For now, my cosmo black 3DS still works lol
I love to collect physical games so months before shut down I bought all the physical games and DLC's I wanted for my 3DS and 2DS and some digital exclusive games. No regrets since I never mod anyway. I love to have it around. Collecting always was so much fun to me^^
It was just always fun to look on there, even if you weren't buying anything.

That's so weird, the music that I had on my 3ds eShop was the one you had on your Wii U. It was this one theme for the longest time, until one day it changed, it was completely different and way more energetic
I remember when the 3DS was coming out and sadly I was late the to party. Barely got the experience having my own 3DS at the time. It was a good journey though. Rest in peace eShop...

Your 3DS eshop music was definitely different to mine in its final years, right up until the last seconds. I wonder if the EU and US eshops used different soundtracks in their final updates.
Damn, I still remember when I got my 3DS back in 2011, as well as when I conected it to the internet for the first time (it was a big thing for a lot of people at the time ^^). This console (as well as the Wii U) had such a charming and cozy interface.
Thank you 3DS for these wonderful moments. :') At least we can still play those games on emulator !

I can’t believe that was 12 years ago. Fun fact we are as close to 2035 as we were to 2011.
As a former Nintendo 3Ds user I will say that I’m glad I get to experience the eshop. I remember those days I would scroll on the 3Ds, virtual, and demo games but mostly on the demos. I downloaded and played a lot of demos and also played full version nes games back then. Definitely one of my best childhood moments ever thank you so much Nintendo for the fun memories.
Fun fact: My 3DS is set to the current date yet for me, the E-Shop is still usable, not like i have a single shred of cash to spare on a 3ds game (I gave the 3DS away to my brother btw)

I still have my original 3ds and recently got a new xl and I found it interesting the music was different on both systems, not sure if that was a thing for other people or not

Anyone else just leave both eShops open in the final hours? The 3DS was my childhood and I have had one since Pokemon X and Y came out. It was painful to even use the 3DS as a lot of stuff has changed for me and my family since 2013. I'm glad I have finally bought all of those Streetpass minigames though.
