  • Here is the Newest of the Boruit V-series flashlights. The V20 is rated at 1000 lumens, with a 1100 mAh battery. The head of the light is adjustable to 180 degrees. It has dedicated LED's in the front for red light. This flashlight has a Type C charge port and comes with its own cable, a lanyard which is a new accessory for this light, as well as a key ring and 2 rubber covers, an orange and white. Although stated that it has a UV light, it doesn't work. I'm not sure if they installed the wrong LED, or the wavelength is incorrect, but nothing glows with it, not currency, pet stains, nor security tags. The blue light however is interesting, its more of a black light. Also this newer model features a much louder alarm/buzzer, than the weak V15.

    Good review with the exception of the UV information. Here is what I found. I purchased one of these lights on Amazon and it comes in two varieties. UV or Red Light. I choose the red light to preserve night vision. If you didn't select the UV version, you will NOT get UV. The one with the red light works great and I am very happy with it. Thanks for showing how the light works and the operation of the buttons. Saved me from reading the manual... lol. Hope my information helped and thanks for sharing. Cheers!

      I've only even gotten the clear case versions, all those were uv lights, never had anything different.

    Good review. I have a Boruit V10. The main differences are that the V20's main light moves 180 degrees (very nice), and the front red lights save your night vision. I like the V10 because the UV light is in the front between the white ones. It's brighter, and away from the glow in the dark material which interferes with it. Both great lights to have.

    Just got this as a backup light / emergency light to throw in a pouch kit for day hiking. I think for that use case it’s a pretty decent light for the money. Ideally I’d love an SOS mode but can’t have everything for 30bucks. Nice review and thanks

    It does have a UV light. I tested it the other day with some UV reactive paint. However, it is pretty weak.

      His doesn’t have it because there is an option between red light or uv light when you buy it.

    cool video !!
    how bright is the minimum setting ? i'd love to be able to read at night without lighting up the whole room, is it dim enough for that ?

      Its a bit bright for my liking for reading. If the book has glossy pages, you will have a glare. I'm assuming of coarse you have it clipped to a hat. If its on desk or night stand, it should be fine at a farther distance.

    Bought yesterday, arrived today, Amazon.
    Previously I had bought smaller flashlights from HTF: Harbor Tool and Freight, non rechargeable, $3?
    Those needed one time batteries,
    I am considering buying some rechargeable batteries, AA & AAA, via IKEA.
    Please tell if good idea.

      Welcome aboard! Usually i try to only have one kind of rechargeable battery, and those are lithium. I do not know how modern alkaline rechargeable batteries are compared to their not rechargeable versions.

    can we really trust the IP67 rating?

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  3 месяца назад +1

      IP67 is dust resistant, and good for 1 meter of water depth, at ambient temperature for 30 mins. As long as the duct cover is tightly on the charge port, it should be fine. There is a thin o-ring around where the movable head meets the casing. I wouldn't be rocking the head back and forth under water, but in a stationary position should be fine.

    • @mete--han

      oh i actually meant that in like it claims to have an IP67 rating but is it legit?

    • @Survival-gyver
      @Survival-gyver  3 месяца назад +2

      @@mete--han Well, this was definitely a different question than I'm used too. I did some research on the subject, and the cost for IP rating is cost prohibitive for most companies. About 80% of products on the market that are listed as IP rated, are not. Unfortunately there no direct punishment for falsifying the rating, as far as I can tell. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) here in the US has some jurisdiction about it, but nothing really more than a small fine, usually $200, but its rare. So is this legit IP67 rated? Probably not. But I have no way to test it appropriately to be sure.
