Your face is a picture, so "chuffed"!! I am so happy for you and to see your joy put a huge smile on my face. Looking forward to your videos charting the new life for the tractor. You might consider a comfy cushion for that seat!!
I know you are at home with tractors, but even so, you drove it up onto the transporter without any trepidation :))

Thanks Mike - it is something I've always wanted, grew up on one of these, in fact started driving them aged about 9. Yes I've got a comfy cushion. Been checking it over today and got insured and taxed so that's todays video.

Thanks.....have had some good shows, however looked what happened last year. Survived, just with the help of some great friends. Just the injectors to service this year, should then be one of the best of these around mechanically. See what happens next month.

Great tractor, very reliable, learnt to drive on one of these, DM4, these have a time chain and the later 10/60 have timing gears.
Both r great tractor, the braking system is lot better on the 10/60s though.

Good Old boy ,,,, I like your style Malc ,,, you couldn't get any more extreme than that,,, one day your making clocks ,,, the next collecting a classic tractor. Your always full of surprises ,,, I bet your shoulders giving you some GIPP I bet the old girl is a bit heavy on the steering ,,, Loaded like you had been driving one all your life ,,,, (Lets forget the unloading perhaps a good thing it wasn't captured ) ,,,, Im really chuffed and pleased for you ,,, im sure you will enjoy it ,,,

Cheers Alan - been given the chance to keep a vehicle, mustn't miss it. Looking all week, load of crap. Saw this one, phoned Thursday night, told me the problem with hydraulics, so basically knew nothing wrong with them. Bought it Friday, collected today. Oh, and I have been driving them all my life. Started at 8 years old on very similar tractors. Missed a bit of video, but I'm sure the rest will make up for it.

Yes, I met someone at Carrington, the year it broke down. He knows them inside out. It's a 1960/61 tractor, with an early BMC engine. He showed me how to tell from the core plugs, and head. When I had the head off I measured it and it is a 3.4. It was registered as 1953 in 1999. Now sold to a friend near Manchester.

Iooks good, my dad had one of the first to come of the production line, it didn't have hydraulics and I used to drive it in mid 60s. Shame yours has had half shafts hacked of, there should of been a law against that sort of vandalism, I really dont know why anyone would want to take a gas axe to them. Im surprised no one's commented on your video about it . Anyway keep up the good work mate ..

Thanks Alexander - you can keep up to date with the rest of the videos. However I've been to a show today, the first proper trip since the rebuild and pleased to say all has gone well.

Looks like it is good shape for the 50's. Most here are rusted up solid from road salt or being left out in the weather for years. That one tire looks bad

Wasn't lucky the next year though. Discovered it had belonged to a bodger for about 20 years, and had hardly been used. Had great oil pressure and engine was sound. However the head hadn't been done, something must have happened when the bodger had it. Exhaust valve broke up on the first long trip, first for many years. Luckily only cosmetic damage to top of piston and great friends helped. See full playlist. Sold it in October to a friend. Must now be one of the best mechanical ones around.

I'll swap you a Hornby Dublo locomotive for it!
