    The idea for a Tokyo version of Galaxy's Egde is pretty cool. I would love to see each park have a different version of Star Wars land like each resort is based off a different planet. I don't care, as long as you give me a Mandalorian Vekoma FLY coaster.

    Part of me makes me think that OLC announced the change for Astro Blaster so that they can avoid the Splash close down. I’ve heard some rumors on Walt Disney company putting some pressure on OLC to change Splash.
    OLC can now say no for the transformation on Splash since they have lots of thing changing and has no budget

    • @8bitthemepark

      I’ve heard similar things but I don’t know about all that… People may be trying to connect dots that aren’t there, just my opinion tho none of us know what happens behind those doors. I’m sure Disney don’t love that there’s still a Splash out there, and I also think changing Buzz to Ralph is a very Disney move, quite unlike OLC. So there’s a good chance OLC have had a lot of pressure from Disney lately and this was an olive branch. Who knows

    Here is my future of Tokyo’s Tomorrowland:
    Space Mountain gets a refurbishment, keep Monsters Inc Ride and Go Seek, replace Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters with a Radiator Springs Racers style Sugar Rush Racers based on the climax of Wreck it Ralph, replace Stitch Encounter with A Botanical Gardens, replace Star Tours: The Adventure Continues with a Vekoma F.L.Y style roller coaster called Hiro’s Test Flight, replace the Happy ride with Baymax with a clone of Jet Packs, add the Peoplemover to Tokyo Disneyland, Add a Tower of Terror style Hero’s Duty Breakout, and finally change the aesthetic of Tomorrowland to Modern Technology!

      It’s a unique setting that could be super fun! It’s the shame the shop seems to be pretty generic, they could have had a lot of fun going all in on a Wreck It Ralph shop or even post show

    I too am not a fan of screens in rides and much prefer physical props/sets. I personally am happy that they aren't bringing the Ant-Man ride to replace Buzz as like I've said here before, I personally don't approve of any Iger's acquisitions except Pixar and I really don't like them bringing Marvel to It's a Small World, even if it is only temporary.
    Which is also why I wouldn't want them to bring a Star Wars land either. I personally really dislike that they built Galaxy's Edge at Walt's park and I've thought for many years that Tokyo Disneyland is the next closest thing to the original Disneyland. Although Magic Kingdom is great too in that it has Carousel of Progress and is also the only US park still free of Marvel, Lucasfilm, or Fox.
    I'm also sort of starting to worry about the future of Tokyo Disneyland, with them bringing Marvel in some ways makes me think that Iger might be pressing The Oriental Land Company to make some changes. I especially fear about Splash Mountain. I really hope that it's here to stay forever, and I'm sure you agree seeing as you ranked it the best ride at Tokyo Disneyland and you said in this video it's your favorite place in the world.

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  3 месяца назад

      Yea I really feel like all the new acquisitions would do well in a new park. Avatar, Star Wars and Marvel lands plus something for the kids basically makes an entire park.
      I’d be sad to lose Splash but Tiana is really exciting too! Who knows what the future will hold, but I don’t see us losing Splash at least until they’re done with Tomorrowland.

    • @ryanstreasures2491
      @ryanstreasures2491 3 месяца назад

      @@8bitthemepark I personally very much dislike the direction Iger has taken Disney in with acquiring things and focusing on them more than anything authentically Disney and I loved so much that they haven't built anything based on his acquisitions and still build things based on Disney films like Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast and Fantasy Springs. But with the Groot Small World, I think this will possibly change and if it does, then I'd personally prefer them to build a new park then include them in either of the current parks.
      I'm not sure, to my understanding Tiana is going to have less than two dozen animatronics and lots of screens and projections, which makes me think it will be very subpar to Splash Mountain and that Disney won't want a Splash Mountain still open to draw comparison to it.

    Yes I agree that Monsters Inc has always felt out of place in tomorrowland, I think back in the 2000s there was a trend to put Pixar films in tomorrowland because back then just CGI animation alone was considered technologically advanced.
    Now that Buzz Lightyear is gone, it feels even more out of place (if anything, I think it fits more in toontown because of the comedic theming).
    I like that they are adding more technology themed attraction besides space travel, and wreck it wralph is an absolute welcome, but at the same time it's a little disappointing to not have any representation for automobile technology.

    • @8bitthemepark
      @8bitthemepark  3 месяца назад

      True, but then again automobiles being the future is pretty dated at this point.
      I agree I’ve always felt a ‘toon city’ area could fit Monsters Inc, Zootopia, Elemental, Inside Out and more somewhat cohesively. A Monstropolis area would be a dream!

    • @user-bl8cd2xd4g

      @@8bitthemepark Not that automobile itself is futuristic, but I think transportation is an iconic field of technology, and I'd love to see a
