im a metalhead. This is not my usual type of music. But my dad used to love this song and we always listened to it together. He died on leucemia 2 years ago. I really miss him and sometimes i listen to this song to remember him. Thank you, Joe.

Brother you don’t mourn alone. My mom passed December 2019 and I continue to grieve. Perhaps listening to “The Blues” doesn’t help. Joe is an awesome talent. His music is therapy for me. Most time when I listen I cry, but I’m not sad. In fact I’m grateful for my life’s experiences and those that have influenced me. Joe B is good medicine.

Hey Leonfox. Lost both my parents as well. Not that it matters. I am glad you have found some other music in your your journey. I am a metal-head as well , but found the blues in the 90`s when grunge came around. It`s healthy to explore other genres. I truly hope that your loss is weakining when years pass by. A good old fashioned hug comes your way from Norway. Stay positive brother :)

I didn’t discover Joe until 2016, 8 years after my beloved husband died from cancer. My biggest regret is that he never had the chance to experience Bonamassa . He would have loved it. He loved Clapton, Gary Moore and BB King. Now when I listen to Joe’s music it’s bittersweet. I wish I could have shared my love of Joe’s music with him. Life isn’t fair by any means.

When it comes to music or the arts, there’s never just one “greatest “, it’s too subjective. It’s all about what we like, what speaks to us, what we can relate to. I’m a HUGE fan of JB. I love that I can listen to his music over and over and not tire of it. We had the pleasure of seeing him live a few years ago, took our son (25 years old at the time). He comment after was ‘He didn’t play anything I didn’t like’. That’s a great compliment.

Yeh...this is my current story...66 yr. old retiree...relocating to the Gold Country in Calif. It looks like "loneliness" is everywhere. I saw Joe last Nov. in Stockton, CA....he is my current "guitar hero"...I love him and I love how he plays. My guidelines are pretty high...he follows Johnny, Jimi, Stevie, Eric, Alvin, … I love Joe...and how he plays the blues. He is the "current blues master!"

When I watch this video, I really don't miss the 70's. In the 70's during the guitar solo they would have shown the face of the drummer or some girl in the audience. As a guitar player, here I have all I need.

If he arrived on the scene in 1983-1989 he would have given SRV a run......he's a better song writer ....better singer ....he is close to the chops .....I am impressed with how he controlled his career with little influence and no drugs or distractions!!!!......I Kno a lot of purists won't give him the credit that he rightfully deserves!!!!!!......I met him early on in his career and we talked for 10 mins about everything but music n guitars - before he walked away he asked me if I play - and I replied yes , since I was 10 (now 53) ..... hardcore punk bands is how I cut my teeth....but now I just play the blues with a jazz twist.....I think Joe B needs to be recognized for who he is .....one if the greatest guitar players and song writers of our time .... listen to 'driving towards the daylight' and tell me that isn't the best blues song written in the past 20 years !!!!!!......much love!!!.....stay healthy Everyone- and in tune!!!....

If all you said above is true....why isn't Joe recognized as the better song writer, singer and guitarists? As far as Stevie is concerned he was in a class all his own. He had the whole package and brought such an excitement that he completely revitalized a dying art form, the blues, to the mainstream and helped rejuvenate the stagnant careers of the originators that had long been forgotten since the 60's and 70's and also influenced a whole generation of guitarist, songwriters and musicians!

Joe Bonamassa you’re the greatest just started listening to you four months ago. You brought me back from the dead. Had a bad month of medication and went to easy way and pointed a gun to my head and pulled the trigger on pistol I forgot to put furring pin bsck in. Where there on purpose or accident it save my life. It was just about the time you played in Omaha and I miss your concert. So I turned you and RUclips . I listen to his set of yours.. And decided it was a wrong way out. So thank you very much I will continue to listen to music the rest my life so play on. Knowing your music has made a difference
